Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

Lin Ye took out the small mirror. His reflection showed on its surface—his mental energy had returned to normal, the card items had disappeared, and a new day had begun.

”I was still hoping to have a midnight snack together...”

Regretfully, Lin Ye put away the small mirror. He walked along the corridor toward the cultivation chamber. The traffic officer wouldn’t abandon his companion and leave directly, so someone must have taken him away.

’Sigh, I’ve been tricked.’

Lin Ye hadn’t been deceived by Sarah, but rather by the system task.

The system had instructed them to protect Sarah, which made Lin Ye overlook the possibility that Sarah might be the enemy.

Lin Ye entered the cultivation chamber. Sarah stood with her back to him, performing some operations on a cultivation base. Lying on that cultivation base was none other than the traffic officer, who had already lost consciousness.

Hearing the sound, Sarah slowly turned around, tilting her head expressionlessly as she looked at Lin Ye. Her movements resembled those of a mobile plant.

”Are you Sarah? Or the plant inside her body?”

Lin Ye didn’t think a plant’s acting skills could fool him, but he still asked the question.”Sarah? There never was any Sarah. I’ve been controlling this body from the very beginning. What you saw was merely an illusion created by hormonal stimulation in this body.”

Sarah slowly moved in front of Lin Ye. She simply admired Lin Ye’s body without showing any intention of fighting him.

All the seedlings here were her offspring. All living creatures in this world were her seedbeds.

That self-righteous Public Security Bureau Director thought he had been controlling the situation all along, but that was only because she wanted him to think that way. She wouldn’t implant seedlings in that man’s body—only by not doing so could she truly control him.

”Aren’t you afraid I’ll kill you? This is an underground base. If I kill you here, you won’t be able to contaminate the surface above.”

Lin Ye took out an inhibitor and injected it into Sarah’s neck. As he expected, the other party didn’t care at all.

”Unless you can completely destroy your own body, I will regrow within you. I’ve been wanting to change bodies for a long time.”

Sarah didn’t care about Lin Ye’s threats. She quite liked Lin Ye’s body and wasn’t prepared to move in hastily.

”Then come on in. I surrender.”

Lin Ye raised his hands in surrender, deciding to offer up his own body... which was obviously impossible.

”You want to lure me out? Useless. I... can... at... any... time... What... did... you... do... to... me?”

Sarah collapsed to the ground, lifting her head with difficulty. She saw Lin Ye holding an empty metal syringe—not the inhibitor she had seen earlier.

”You’re really strong. This is the asylum’s strong sedative specifically designed for spiritual entities. You actually lasted this long before collapsing.”

Lin Ye always kept a strong sedative prepared in his glove space, and today he finally got to use it.

Earlier, Lin Ye had intentionally shown the inhibitor to make the other party lower their guard. At the last moment before injection, Lin Ye had swapped the two syringes.

The strong sedative was specially formulated by the head nurse for spiritual entities. This was medicine that could take effect even in that mental hospital. Unless the patient’s mental energy reached a certain level, this injection was guaranteed to work.

Lin Ye looked at Sarah lying motionless on the ground. Now was the time to do whatever he wanted.

Regarding how to handle the Sarah situation, Lin Ye had begun thinking about it the moment he injected the sedative.

First, he definitely wouldn’t kill Sarah.

Both the system’s additional tasks and previous experiences reminded him that things would become very troublesome after Sarah’s death.

Although Sarah couldn’t think now, and he could use items like grenades to kill her with delayed effect, this wasn’t reliable.

So Lin Ye decided to handle this problem in a more fundamental way.

Lin Ye took out a mutation organ sealed in a bag from his loot space.

This mutation organ originated from a certain church in the Great Hollow.

Its system description read:

[A special type of mutation organ. After transplantation, you will feel the presence of a certain great being and become Their follower]

Lin Ye had four such mutation organs. He always carried one during each Nighttime Activity for emergencies.

Just like the current situation—this was the time to use this mutation organ.

Lin Ye cut open Sarah’s chest and placed this bizarrely shaped active mutation organ on her sternum.

All organs within Sarah’s body were connected to plants. Some tendrils actively inserted themselves into the mutation organ and began growing inside it.

Lin Ye began carving synthetic runes within Sarah’s body. He planned to synthesize Sarah, the plants, and the mutation organ into a brand new entity.

This was Lin Ye’s Sarah modification plan.

He wouldn’t kill Sarah. Death wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.

She hadn’t earned the right to meet death yet.

Lin Ye didn’t count how many synthetic runes he carved inside Sarah’s body, but the process took a full half hour.

However, midway through, Lin Ye took time to deal with the plant embryo inside the traffic officer, which wasted about fifteen seconds.

Since it had just been implanted, the traffic officer hadn’t suffered irreversible damage. Lin Ye even took the opportunity to enhance his body a bit.

”Are you okay?”

The traffic officer had just climbed off the cultivation base when he urgently looked at Lin Ye, fearing that Lin Ye had also been ambushed by Sarah.

”Are you really a Public Security Bureau employee? Your alertness is so low—did you get in through backdoor connections?”

Lin Ye asked with a smile.

”If I knew how to use backdoor connections, I wouldn’t have ended up in my current situation.”

The traffic officer breathed a sigh of relief. If Lin Ye had also been controlled by Sarah, he would have truly despaired.

”What happened to it?”

The traffic officer looked at Sarah lying on the ground and asked.

”It gave you a plant embryo, so I gave it a mutation organ in return. Fair exchange, right?”

The synthesis was nearly complete. Lin Ye didn’t know what kind of monstrosity would result from this combination. Based on previous synthesis results, he could only pray that the outcome wouldn’t be too disastrous.

”Plant embryo?”

The traffic officer nervously checked his internal body.

”I’ve already handled it for you. Of course, if you’d like, I can put it back in for you.”

The synthesis completed. Sarah showed no outward changes, but the flesh and plants inside her body had completely merged. Even Lin Ye, the creator, had never seen those bizarre, somewhat artistic organs now inside Sarah’s body.

This was his first time attempting this kind of synthesis.

”Thanks, but I don’t want to become a monster. Did it just move?”

The traffic officer nervously looked at Sarah.

”Yeah, it’s about to wake up.”

Lin Ye wasn’t particularly nervous. The other party’s body structure had been completely altered, and it had undergone synthesis with that mutation organ while still under the effects of the strong sedative.

If it could still cause trouble under these circumstances, then Lin Ye could only admire its mental state.

Sarah opened its eyes. It curiously observed its surroundings, and after a while, it wobbled as it climbed up from the ground.
