Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

There were no students near the assessment room. Students were either reading books in the classrooms or resting in their dorms.

Lin Ye entered the assessment room and began his test. Just like last time, various questions related to Spiritual Energy Fundamentals appeared on the white paper.

These questions weren’t simply copied from the textbook but involved mixed applications and extensions of knowledge.

Lin Ye quickly answered each question. Some were things he had contemplated during his studies, while others provided him with new perspectives.

Soon Lin Ye completed all ten pages of questions. The white paper vanished, and a line of text appeared before his eyes.

[Assessment completed. Received Excellent evaluation. Obtained 30 Tower Points.]

’So many points? Then I don’t need to worry about starving.’

Lin Ye planned to visit the cafeteria in the evening.

After the assessment ended, Lin Ye returned to the classroom, found a seat, and a new textbook appeared on his desk.

The book was titled ”Mental Concentration.”’I thought it would be Mental Fundamentals...’

Lin Ye opened the textbook and skimmed through several pages, discovering it taught techniques for focusing one’s mind.

At first Lin Ye didn’t think much of it, since he was quite adept at concentration, but he soon realized the knowledge in this book was far more important than he had imagined.

Mental concentration wasn’t just about focusing on one thing—it was a technique for completely mastering one’s own mental energy.

For example, Lin Ye had previously mistaken the approach to reducing mental energy consumption. Distraction couldn’t reduce mental energy expenditure; only in a state of highly focused concentration could one control and lower mental energy consumption.

Lin Ye studied the knowledge in the book seriously. As his concentration gradually intensified, his mental energy consumption began to decrease steadily.

Hunger interrupted Lin Ye’s focused state. He quickly consumed some food and water, then continued studying.

When Lin Ye felt hungry for the second time, he finally finished reading ”Mental Concentration.”

After consuming his last food reserves, Lin Ye left the classroom, planning to buy some backup food at the supermarket before returning to his dorm to rest.

Although his mental energy hadn’t been completely depleted this time, what remained was quite limited. Lin Ye decided to recover his mental energy before taking the assessment for the second course.

The moment Lin Ye left the classroom, he found himself blocked in the corridor by over a dozen students. These students held various weapons, their faces filled with murderous intent—clearly they meant trouble.

”Sorry, you’re learning too fast. In normal competition, we’d definitely be no match for you, so we have no choice but to send you to the infirmary. Don’t blame us—blame yourself for being too exceptional.”

The speaker was a young man wearing round-framed glasses, one of the few humans among the students.

”Before we fight, could you tell me what we’re competing for? At least let me understand why I’m wasting my mental energy.”

Lin Ye had no idea what these students were competing over.

”No. Before we send you to the infirmary, I don’t plan to give you any information.”

The bespectacled man said cautiously.

”Stop dawdling. Hurry up and attack.”

”Save me a leg. I want to taste him.”

”Too bad we can’t kill here. Otherwise I’d love to eat his brains—they must be delicious.”

”Enough talk. Let’s move quickly. I need to get back to studying.”

...

Amid the surrounding clamor, a line of text appeared before Lin Ye’s eyes.

[Temporary assessment triggered]

[Temporary assessment: Deal with the surrounding students]

’Oh? There’s such a good thing?’

Lin Ye had already planned to eliminate these troublesome individuals, and now he could complete a temporary assessment at the same time.

The students charged at Lin Ye, but due to the narrow corridor, Lin Ye only needed to face four students at once from front and back.

Lin Ye concentrated his mind. The students’ movements slowed down, each action clearly visible to his eyes. Without needing excessive consideration, Lin Ye grasped each student’s trajectory and quickly calculated his responses.

These students weren’t weak, but Lin Ye was stronger.

This time Lin Ye didn’t remain stationary but walked directly toward the bespectacled man.

Compressed spiritual energy blades pierced the approaching students from various angles. Their attacks were deflected by a circular spiritual energy shield. The spiritual energy released when the shield collapsed naturally struck their vital points.

Lin Ye walked toward the continuously retreating bespectacled man, with students who had become blood fountains lying at his feet.

”How can you still have mental energy! I’ve been watching you—you just finished studying a textbook!”

The bespectacled man retreated step by step in disbelief. Looking at the severed limbs and body parts in the corridor, he only wanted to get away from the monster before him.

”I’m exceptionally talented.”

Of course Lin Ye wouldn’t say he had been using mental concentration to reduce his mental energy consumption. With his remaining mental energy, he could handle all the students coming at him together.

”Don’t hit me. I’ll tell you what we’re competing for.”

The bespectacled man didn’t want to end up in the infirmary like those fools on the ground.

”Doesn’t matter. I like surprises.”

A sphere composed of blood and spiritual energy appeared in Lin Ye’s hand. Lin Ye threw the sphere at the bespectacled man.

The bespectacled man reacted quickly, easily dodging the sphere while throwing several short knives toward Lin Ye.

The blood sphere exploded beside the bespectacled man. Violent spiritual energy tore through his spiritual energy shield, and numerous sharp blood spikes pierced into his body.

The short knives were deflected by the spiritual energy shield. Lin Ye continued walking forward, completely ignoring the bespectacled man screaming and struggling on the ground.

[Temporary assessment passed]

[Combat Guidance Classroom unlocked. Free attendance for one combat guidance session available.]

After buying some food at the supermarket, Lin Ye smoothly returned to his dorm.

’Combat guidance? Doesn’t seem as useful as learning knowledge.’

Lin Ye was quite skilled at combat, and he believed that so-called combat was essentially real-time strategy. As long as he could see through the enemy’s intentions using available information, he could accurately strike their vital points.

Of course, when facing enemies far stronger than him, no amount of strategy would be useful.

’After recovering my mental energy, I’ll take the assessment, then study the next book. After finishing that, I’ll visit the Combat Guidance Classroom.’

Lin Ye planned his subsequent schedule. He hadn’t forgotten his purpose for entering the Dreamrealm—he needed to learn techniques to suppress the God’s Blood, which likely related to the competition those students mentioned.

He didn’t need to know the specific details of the competition. As long as he learned fast enough, no one could compete with him.

Lin Ye lay on the bed resting with his eyes closed. This time it took less than three hours for him to fully recover his mental energy.

’Indeed this place has been continuously absorbing students’ mental energy. Only students who have mastered mental concentration can resist this mental absorption. This must be some method of training mental techniques.’

Lin Ye got up, took his food, left the dorm and went straight to the assessment room. Not long after, he successfully passed the ten-page assessment.

[Assessment completed. Received Excellent evaluation. Obtained 30 Tower Points.]

’I won’t even be able to use up all these points.’

After completing the assessment, Lin Ye walked toward the classroom in high spirits. In the corridor lay some students too hungry to move.
