Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

Lin Ye sighed. He had originally wanted to confront the Public Security Bureau Director head-on to test the gap between himself and a fourth-tier spiritual energy user, but since the other party was playing dirty, he had no choice but to reciprocate.

”Hehehe, you actually came back on your own. Are you nostalgic for your days in the laboratory?”

As the person in charge of Yongsen Laboratory, Darlen controlled the experimental progress of all experimental subjects. Most of them had been eliminated by the cruel experiments, and among all the experimental subjects, only Sarah had achieved coexistence with the plants inside her body.

Looking at the old man with a twisted body covered in plants standing before her, Sarah trembled all over. The terrifying memories of being an experimental subject in the past were like ropes tightly binding her, making it impossible for her to move her feet.

”You’re not jealous of her, are you? After all, she’s still human, while you’ve become a monster. Is this your experimental achievement?”

The traffic officer pushed Sarah into the corner of the room and faced the fourth-tier mutated monster outside the door.

He was provoking the monster before him.

In a battle of this level, there wasn’t much he could do. At most, he could use his own life to buy Lin Ye a little more time.

He didn’t know if this action had any meaning, but he had to do something.

”Kid, what do you know? She’s just an individual case produced by a rare accident, while I am the inevitable result of scientific experimentation. As long as there are enough plants, I can mass-produce fourth-tier mutated creatures!”Darlen said disdainfully.

”Hehe, face reality. Your experiments are completely meaningless except for turning people into monsters.”

The traffic officer stood behind Lin Ye and raised his gun barrel toward Darlen.

This action was like a signal—the battle began at this instant.

Lin Ye naturally wouldn’t let the traffic officer face the fourth-tier monster alone, nor did he plan to deal with two fourth-tier creatures simultaneously. So he used the previously prepared Salted Fish Thrust on the Public Security Bureau Director.

A salted fish disappeared from Lin Ye’s hand and instantly teleported onto the Public Security Bureau Director. Since this move had no warning signs and gave the opponent no time to react, the Public Security Bureau Director was hit without being able to make any response.

Its body began to mutate into small salted fish, and numerous small salted fish fell to the ground, continuously wriggling.

”Damn it! What did you do! What kind of monstrous thing is this!”

The Public Security Bureau Director lay on the ground struggling constantly. Like those experimental subjects, it was now being forced to experience the sensation of its body gradually mutating.

After using Salted Fish Thrust, Lin Ye turned around and slashed a complete Shotgun Blade at Darlen, who was approaching despite the traffic officer’s bullets.

”Die!”

After forcing Darlen back with this slash, Lin Ye put on the Power Gauntlets and Bloody Ring, took a sip from the Gathering Star Cup, and finally took out a small mirror to look at himself.

”I can temporarily enhance your mental energy, but you’d better deal with it quickly.”

Little Ye said from within the mirror.

”Okay.”

Lin Ye felt his mental energy becoming stronger.

He could clearly perceive the various parasitic plants within Darlen’s body. The movement of these plants drove the motion of Darlen as a whole.

Pulling the traffic officer aside, Lin Ye laid rune traps at his feet while retreating diagonally backward.

Darlen stepped on the rune traps, but they failed to restrain it, only making it pause for half a second.

Lin Ye continued laying rune traps at his feet while shifting his center of gravity and using boxing footwork to dodge Darlen’s attacks.

Coupled with his powerful mental perception, Lin Ye could easily predict Darlen’s attack methods and angles. Additionally, with Lin Ye continuously using rune traps for containment, Darlen couldn’t touch him at all.

The reason Lin Ye chose this response method was because it was difficult for him to inflict fatal damage on Darlen. The Shotgun Blade couldn’t penetrate Darlen’s body woven from mutated plants, and the damage caused by low-tier spiritual energy firearms might not even outpace its recovery rate.

”Are you only going to run away? Don’t let me catch you!”

Darlen angrily chased after Lin Ye’s retreating figure. After excessive mutation, it had begun to gradually lose its rationality.

”Stop chasing. You won’t catch up.”

When using Salted Fish Thrust earlier, Lin Ye had also considered using it on the monster behind him, but ultimately he chose the Public Security Bureau Director.

Because a conscious Public Security Bureau Director was more dangerous.

Lin Ye constantly changed positions to dodge Darlen’s attacks. Darlen’s mutation gradually deepened, beginning to lose its human form. Various flesh-and-blood plants grew from its body, these plants growing wildly in the central control room, compressing Lin Ye’s living space.

”Keep running! I’m going to slowly devour your flesh and blood, tear your nerves apart and connect them to plants!”

Darlen let out excited, maniacal laughter.

The traffic officer pulled Sarah and ran out of the central control room. Darlen didn’t pay attention to them—the plants within Sarah’s body were very dangerous. In the original plan, Sarah was supposed to die in the city center, and it didn’t want the bomb to explode here either.

Lin Ye lost his living space, but as those plants left Darlen’s body, Darlen’s physical strength and recovery ability were also decreasing.

”Now you have nowhere to hide, right? Keep running!”

Darlen forced Lin Ye into a corner of the room, with numerous flesh-and-blood plants slowly approaching him.

”No, the one with nowhere to hide is you.”

Whoosh!

Numerous sharp, thin blood lines sprayed out from the Bloody Ring. Although Darlen used a spiritual energy shield to block the blood lines aimed at its main body, some blood lines still pierced into the surrounding mutated plants.

And these mutated plants were connected to Darlen.

The blood traveled within the mutated plants, continuously absorbing and transforming the blood inside them. Finally, this blood surged into Darlen’s body through the connections.

”Blood Explosion!”

Lin Ye certainly wouldn’t hold back. He controlled these spiritual energy-rich blood to continuously compress within Darlen’s body and used this blood as material to carve Shaping and Severing runes.

Boom!

Darlen exploded.

Numerous compressed blood-red spiritual energy blades erupted within its body, tearing it into tiny pieces of minced meat. The mutated plants growing outside its body didn’t escape either, being chopped into fragments by numerous spiritual energy blades.

Lin Ye had set up several layers of mutated spiritual energy shields and curled up in the corner of the room. Even so, his protective clothing was cut into rags.

Fortunately, the quality of the protective clothing was good enough that Lin Ye wasn’t shredded by his own attack.

”Indeed, I really shouldn’t detonate bombs in enclosed spaces.”

Lin Ye changed into the Nightfall Formalwear and began searching for loot among the meat chunks.

But aside from some dangerous salted fish, Lin Ye found nothing.

Lin Ye used Red Blade to poke the salted fish into the loot space. Previously, he could touch salted fish because they were system items obtained through simulation tasks. Now he didn’t dare to randomly touch these third-generation salted fish.

After dealing with the salted fish, Lin Ye walked out of the central control room. The corridor was empty—both the traffic officer and Sarah had disappeared.
