Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

Lin Ye continuously moved around the room, spraying to death the monsters that suddenly appeared beside him. This room was much larger than the other hospital rooms, roughly seventy square meters. Fortunately, the ceiling height was less than three meters, otherwise he would have had to be cautious of paths leading to higher positions.

Even if falling wouldn’t kill him, descending could easily move him to positions the monsters hadn’t traversed, and there might even be situations of continuous falling, making it impossible to retreat to the original position.

”Why aren’t you moving forward?”

Little Ye wandered casually near Lin Ye, which somewhat irritated him.

”The path ahead requires passing through four mid-air positions and performing aerial direction changes. I’m not as agile as the monsters, nor can I change direction in mid-air.”

Lin Ye couldn’t find other paths leading to the exit, nor did he want to take unknown routes. If he happened to encounter a position where he would keep falling continuously, he might actually die from falling in this room.

”You can do it, and you must do it, because there’s no time left for you to change paths.”

Little Ye’s tone remained calm, but the gradually increasing unease in her heart made her do things she normally wouldn’t.

She wanted to warn Lin Ye, but didn’t know what to warn him about, since she knew nothing herself.

”...I understand.”Lin Ye mentally planned all the movements he needed to make next, then used the Blood Burning skill on the blood within his body.

The blood burned inside Lin Ye, and in just an instant, released massive amounts of energy.

Lin Ye took a step forward—this step crossed more than half the room, instantly moving him to a mid-air position on one side of the room.

Before his body began to fall, Lin Ye used Blood Manipulation, controlling the direction of energy release by manipulating his blood. The energy burst out from his body, pushing Lin Ye to fly through the air and move toward the upper left.

After several direction changes and a period of discontinuous flight through the air, Lin Ye finally landed with both feet on the ground.

”...That hurt like hell.”

Although he successfully flew across that path, Lin Ye’s face was pale, and his body had several wounds from the energy eruptions. Fortunately, they were all in non-critical areas, otherwise Lin Ye might have lost mobility entirely.

”...Then why are you smiling?”

Little Ye felt her original self might have some strange quirks.

”Was I smiling?”

Lin Ye touched the corner of his mouth. He shouldn’t be smiling when in pain—it would make others find it strange, even repulsive.

”Yes, this is the first time I’ve seen you smile so happily.”

Seeing Lin Ye’s smile, the irritable feelings in Little Ye’s heart suddenly vanished, and she unconsciously smiled too.

”I don’t like pain, but sometimes pain can make me feel more comfortable, just like how only when I’m sick can I lie in bed without having to think about anything... So I really am very happy right now. Did you just say we’re running out of time?”

Lin Ye casually punched toward a monster pouncing at him, blood flying from his fist and piercing through the monster’s head.

”Yes.”

Little Ye leaned against the door frame, no longer wandering around.

”Then let’s hurry. Just now I was the fragile Doctor Lin, now it’s time to switch roles.”

Lin Ye began running through the room, his figure flashing to various positions. Through the combined techniques of Blood Burning, Blood Spit, and Blood Manipulation, he was flying.

In less than a minute, Lin Ye pushed open the door and left the room with eleven Irregular Fragments.

Little Ye followed Lin Ye out of the room and casually closed the door behind them.

Without wasting words, Lin Ye immediately ran toward the nearest stagnant water area while simultaneously using ten Irregular Fragments to synthesize an advanced skill.

He wanted to synthesize an ultimate skill, but now wasn’t the time—he had too few fragments. He needed some basic and advanced skills to speed up fragment collection.

[Acquired Advanced Skill: Irregular Limb]

[Irregular Limb]

[Irregularizes a limb]

[Note: Please don’t expect it to grow as desired]

’...Not bad.’

Lin Ye then used two red fragments and one Irregular Fragment to synthesize a basic skill.

[Acquired Basic Skill: Corpse Irregularization]

[Corpse Irregularization]

[Using this skill can irregularize a corpse while preserving it]

[Note: Preserving the corpse will not yield fragments]

’Oh, this skill...’

Lin Ye crossed the stagnant water area. Numerous blood-red tentacles shot out from the water, wanting to bind Lin Ye and pull him into the water’s depths.

However, before they could touch Lin Ye, he sprayed energy downward and backward, leaping over the stagnant water area.

Due to continuous blood loss, Lin Ye felt weakness in his limbs and darkness before his eyes, but this didn’t affect his movement speed.

A fleshy tentacle growing from the wall stabbed toward Lin Ye. Lin Ye dodged the piercing attack and flung blood that exploded the tentacle’s root.

Lin Ye picked up the still-twitching tentacle and used Corpse Irregularization on it. The smooth, supple tentacle quickly split into three—each of different lengths. The shortest remained smooth, the middle one became rough, and the longest grew covered in sharp protrusions.

”Not bad, just a bit too long.”

Lin Ye inserted the tentacle’s root into a wound on his thigh and used the advanced skill Irregular Limb on the tentacle.

The skill took effect quickly. Lin Ye could feel the tentacle’s root growing inside his body, gradually merging with him.

This feeling was extremely unpleasant—he could clearly sense the entire process of a foreign object growing within him.

Fortunately, this growth soon ended. Lin Ye attempted to control the tentacle to perform various movements. At first there was some delay, but he quickly grew accustomed to the feeling of controlling the tentacle and could skillfully manipulate it to perform various actions.

A blood-corpse crawled out from within the stagnant water area ahead. It roared as it charged toward Lin Ye, only to be pierced through the chest and brain by two tentacles.

Lin Ye used Corpse Irregularization on the blood-corpse. He didn’t want to install more parts on his body, but intended to use this corpse as a blood pack, since he was running low on blood within his body.

After using skills multiple times, Lin Ye discovered these skills weren’t fixed abilities like in games, but rather controllable capabilities of some sort. Moreover, after repeatedly using a particular skill, that skill would become somewhat stronger.

For example, with the Blood Spit skill, after multiple uses, he now only needed twenty seconds to produce one corrosive blood shot.

Now that he had the blood-corpse corpse, he could use the blood within it to practice his skills.

Currently, he still couldn’t manipulate blood inside enemies through their bodies, but with more practice, he might be able to perform more complex operations.

Dragging the irregularizing blood-corpse with his tentacles, Lin Ye manipulated the blood within the blood-corpse’s body while charging toward the next stagnant water area.
