Inheritance Space

【Obtained special Inheritance Proof, connected to inheritance space】

【Please draw today’s card】

”My turn! Draw card!”

When Lin Ye returned to the shelter, the pop-eyed goldfish’s fish tank had already disappeared.

A shimmering white door appeared in the center of the shelter, which should be the passage leading to the inheritance space.

This time the card showed a mirror. As the card dissipated, a square mirror just large enough to frame a human face appeared in the shelter center. Its dark red frame was carved with intricate patterns, while the mirror’s back was completely black.

Lin Ye picked up the mirror, and the reflection of himself stared back, their eyes meeting. Just as Lin Ye was about to compliment his handsome features, the reflection averted its gaze.

”You live in a place like this?”

The reflection inside the mirror spoke.”No choice, it’s assigned from above. Are you this mirror?”

This was Lin Ye’s first time encountering a card creature that could speak human language.

”No, I am... you... oh... damn it...”

The reflection of Lin Ye became blurred, and when the image cleared again, it had transformed into Little Ye’s face.

”What are you doing? The shelter has changed so much.”

Little Ye also looked outside through the mirror.

”I was just looking in the mirror. How did you get here?”

The reflection didn’t show the shelter - behind Little Ye stood a white house.

”Stop creating new consciousness entities, especially these abnormal ones. This mirror is good - you can contact me through it.”

”No, I am... you... oh... Damn it...”

”Can you come through?”

Lin Ye also placed his hand on the mirror surface, but he couldn’t push his hand through to the other side.

”Can’t... I still have some matters to handle here. Let’s talk later.”

Screams came from the house, and Little Ye in the mirror disappeared. When Lin Ye looked into the mirror again, it was completely blurred.

”Sigh, finally encountered one that could talk...”

Putting down the mirror, Lin Ye began organizing the loot.

First was the Inheritance Proof, and there was still an inheritance space waiting for him to enter.

【Special Inheritance Proof】

【Key to opening the inheritance space】

【Note: This is a very special inheritance proof originating from a great family】

Lin Ye approached the white door with the Inheritance Proof. After opening the door, he was transported to a white space filled with display cases.

The white space stretched beyond sight, neatly arranged with display cases of identical specifications. Each case contained different items.

【Entered inheritance space, obtained inheritance rights*1】

【Please select one inheritance and complete the corresponding inheritance task】

Lin Ye looked at the nearest display case containing a pitch-black spear. The case had an inheritance task posted:

Kill Abyss creatures and obtain ten Abyss crystals from their bodies.

”Could you at least specify what Abyss crystals are?”

Lin Ye had no intention of accepting such vague inheritance tasks. If there were time limits and he couldn’t complete it, that would be troublesome.

Plus, any task related to the Abyss was definitely complicated.

After wandering through the inheritance space for half an hour, Lin Ye finally found what seemed like a reliable inheritance task:

Kill ten intermediate-level Mutation Creatures and obtain their spiritual energy cores.

The display case for this task contained a pitch-black pistol with an unusually long barrel. The gun body was engraved with numerous complex runes, making it look extremely dangerous.

’Since the task targets intermediate-level Mutation Creatures, this gun should be at least an intermediate-level spiritual energy weapon. I happen to need a more powerful pistol.’

Lin Ye selected the inheritance task on the display case, and the system teleported him back to the shelter.

The white door in the shelter center disappeared. Lin Ye found the inheritance task interface in the system menu, where he could submit task items through the system.

Only after completing this inheritance task could he accept the next one.

After handling the inheritance space, Lin Ye continued examining the other items.

【Milk Soft Candy】

【Alice’s favorite milk-flavored soft candy, brings feelings of pleasure after eating】

【Note: Don’t eat too much】

【Power Gauntlets】

【Intermediate-level spiritual energy item, automatically masters boxing techniques when equipped, doubles strength when attacking enemies with the gauntlets】

【Note: Prolonged use may cause forgetting of other attack techniques】

【Bloody Ring】

【Intermediate-level spiritual energy item, automatically absorbs enemy blood when killing enemies. When the ring is filled with blood, can manipulate blood to attack enemies】

【Note: Prolonged wear may cause anemia】

The Power Gauntlets were a pair of black silk fingerless gloves that didn’t hinder finger movement when worn.

The Bloody Ring was a dark red metal ring without extra decorations, looking like an ordinary rusted iron loop.

”Both are usable, but not for frequent use. Pity there’s no intermediate-level spiritual energy blade weapon.”

Lin Ye sorted the loot properly, especially William’s exquisite daily necessities, many of which he could use.

After handling the loot, Lin Ye tended to the plants and animals for a while, prepared some food for himself, then opened the group chat while eating.

”Why haven’t we seen Brother Lin today?”

”Right, last week the big shot had already posted shelter upgrade information by now.”

”Did something happen to the big shot?”

”Scared me into checking - the big shot’s name is still lit up.”

”Indeed, maybe bad luck with no blueprint drops, so he went to sleep sad?”

”That would be too unlucky! I got one, just lacking materials.”

Lin Ye: Triggered a special task, just returned.

Lin Ye briefly described the special task.

Lin Ye: Special tasks are quite dangerous, be careful when accepting them.

”As expected of a big shot. While we’re still scavenging in the red maze, the big shot’s already doing tasks in other worlds.”

”That’s too dangerous, I don’t dare randomly pick up things anymore.”

”Don’t worry, with your level you won’t even encounter system tasks.”

”True, special tasks are definitely prepared specifically by the system for big shots. You should just go to sleep early.”

...

After finishing midnight snacks and washing up, Lin Ye lay in bed reading group chat for a while, played with the little dog and Little Black resting by his bedside, then finally closed his eyes and fell into deep sleep.

Doomsday Survival Day 16, 6:34 AM.

After waking up, Lin Ye picked up the mirror and looked - it was still completely blurred, nothing visible.

After breakfast, Lin Ye lay on the bed and began the daily simulation.
