World’s Cutest Alchemist

Out of my six types of plants, only tomatoes have grown so far. It was way faster than what I read online, presumably because of my skill.

It seemed like I could harvest around 35 tomatoes per week—Which was way more than I needed. Honestly, I don’t even like tomatoes much, I just grew them because they’re easy to grow.

Assuming 17 tomatoes per pound, I’d have 2 lbs of tomatoes to sell per week which is a free 2,000 points or $20.

Per month thats $80 passively!

That’s not to mention the other plants I was growing: Basil, lettuce, peppers, rosemary, and strawberries.

Out of all of these, the only ones I was likely to keep were strawberries to snack on.

Everything else I had no problem with selling.

Assuming all my plants are E grade, with the current market I could make about 33,000 points per month assuming I sell everything except the strawberries! That’s $330 per month passively!

What if I grow more!? If I upscale by 10 times, that’s $3,300 per month!

“Hehe..No!” I quickly shook my head and rid myself of delusions.

That’s net income, not profit. Plus, if I grow too much, I won’t have time to brew potions. I shouldn’t get ahead of myself. I’m an alchemist, not a botanist.

Anyway, within a month all my plants should be ready to harvest. Maybe sooner depending on how much my skill accelerates growth.

After tending to my garden, I returned to making my dynokail potions.

…

Two weeks later, I was finally finished.

50 vials of akikali juice and denomyl liquid sat still in the test tube rack.

I could have finished faster, but I took a few rest days to play games and watch YouTube.

This…Was one hell of a journey. From my start of six hours per potion, I cut it down to two hours per potion.

On the side, I’ve also begun learning actual alchemy from my gallery friends—Well, learning about different materials and their uses.

Did you know that we use Opara grass in crude healing potions because it has a recovery effect? Like, it heals the soil itself when planted and provides nutrients to the earth via oxygen absorption. It can even revive dead soil when planted in abundance.

I’m learning enough to make up for the classes I skipped and slept through in school.

Finally…I can go see the sun again!

I can go touch grass!

I can make things go boom!

→ [SlimeLube: Now let’s move on to some slime potions!]

“Hehe!”

This was sort of like a group project, all of us worked together to make these.

Of course I couldn’t let them down. If I didn’t want to keep my appearance a secret, I’d even livestream for them!

But, they’ll have to make do with video footage.

I shrugged. Who told them to be in a different dimension than me?

I wasn’t ready to enter the tower just yet though. There were still potions I could make.

What? I’m not being a scaredy-cat! I’m just being safe! One hit from a sword and I’ll be Ra/ccoon!

Thankfully, the buff potions CauldronBro posted were easy to make and didn’t take long.

The materials are pretty cheap too. I’ll be making a pretty profit when I sell the potions later.

It only took a day to make two of each buff potion.

The difficult part came the morning after.

…

“Haah…” I took a deep breath.

I felt more nervous than when I made the dynokail potion.

This was something I really couldn’t mess up. Something that required my utmost focus and creativity.

A task so difficult that not even my gallery friends could complete it…

The task?

Choosing an outfit.

I looked through each of my clothes—Skirts, shorts, shirts, jackets, there were just so much options to choose from!

Did I want a more casual, aesthetic fit? Or did I want a streetwear look? Perhaps a little academia vibe to match my alchemist class? Or should I go more professional with a lab coat?

This is important!

Ugh! I rubbed my temples.

“Those shorts would give me an adventurer vibe…Oh but that skirt looks comfy.”

An unknowledgable person may be wondering why this even matters in the first place.

Well, there are multiple reasons.

One! It makes me feel good. The difference between looking like a bum and looking cute can change the mood immensely!

Two! If I wear something uncomfortable, I might make a mistake and get slashed into Ra/ccoon!

Three! The tower has a viewing function where you can pay points to see how someone cleared a floor. Though I’ll have the anonymous option enabled, they’ll likely still see an outline of my clothes. I REFUSE to look shabby!

Four! It lets me stall longer…

Really, I’m not scared of entering the tower…Just a little worried.

Everything I’ve worked for could vanish in an instant. I wouldn’t be able to talk to my alchemist friends anymore; I wouldn’t be able to take cute selfies anymore; I couldn’t tend to my plants anymore…

Fine, I’ll admit it…It’s a little scary.

Just a tad bit.

I was just a normal person before awakening—A regular teen who just finished school. Someone who drew and played games all day.

But now…I have to enter a scary tower where death is just around the corner.

Well, no one’s forcing me with a gun to the head to enter the tower, but I feel like I need to. I want to get better at alchemy, I want to gain more skills and traits, I want to be able to troll on the awakeners gallery as a high-ranked climber…

“Hehe…” I laughed to myself at my stupid joke.

“Haah…” I let out a big breath.

Alright, let’s do this.

…

I chose a comfortable outfit that looked cute: A skirt that didn’t reach past my knees, a sports bra and wifebeater, stockings and garter belt, and a black cardigan. I wore high top converse that had a beautiful starry design on them. I even purchased a leg pouch for 75,000 points to store my potions in.

The pouch was so expensive because it was an item.

[Leather Leg Pouch]

Grade C

Creator: Mynyr

A leather leg pouch crafted by a professional leather worker.

* Stable - This modifier keeps its contents stable, items inside the pouch won’t fling around.

* Attached - This modifier keeps the pouch attached, the leg pouch will not fall off or detach while in movement.

As expensive as it was, it was worth it. Especially considering I’ll have dangerous explosive potions in my pouch. It minimizes the risk of me walking around and randomly exploding.

Thankfully, everything fit. In my pouch sat three sets of dynokali potions, and two of each: agility, ironskin, strength, painkiller, concentration, and reaction speed potions.

It definitely helps that the potions are small.

But that’s only because these are crude potions. Later, I’ll either need a bigger pouch or to carry less.

I wasn’t done there, I also bought a small iron dagger to keep at my hip in worst case scenario.

“Phew.” I checked myself out in the mirror.

I look like a climber, right?

I mean, I’m definitely cute. But if we remove the pouch and dagger, don’t I just look like I’m going on a date?

“…”

“Whatever.”

Yeah, who cares if I don’t look like a climber. This outfit boosts my confidence!

“You can do it!” The girl in the mirror said to me.

“Right! Yes I can!” I replied.

“Hehe…” I laughed at the ridiculousness of the situation.

I’d probably look crazy to a random onlooker.

After a deep breath I exhaled slowly.

“Let’s do it.”

Entering the tower was easy, it was all in the holographic screens. There wasn’t a physical location.

[Would you like to enter the tower?]

[Current Floor: N/A]

‘Yes’.

[Entering Floor 1]

[We wish you luck.]

…

In an instant my surroundings had changed. From my apartment bathroom to a field of green.

A light breeze swam through the air, causing my hair to flow with it.

The blue sky and bright sun looked down upon me, clouds were scattered in that beautiful blue.

Vibrant grass lay beneath my feet, stretching for miles. The scent of grass wafted through the air. Occasionally, large rocks bigger than me dotted the vast plains.

Behind me, a lush forest lay, the leaves tangled with the wind.

[Goblins spawning in 4:59]

“Five minutes…” I mumbled, my body unconsciously starting to shake.

“I should’ve asked for a fear removal potion, haha…” I joked to try and ease my nerves.

Each buff potion I had was rank E and lasted for 30 minutes. I quickly drank each of them.

[Your skin toughens.]

[You feel a little faster.]

[You feel a little stronger.]

[You feel a little more focused.]

[Your perception increases.]

I felt a little better. The changes weren’t obvious but I could tell they were there if I focused on the feeling.

“Right, let’s lock in.”

From the videos I watched and guides I’ve read, the group of goblins spawn 50 meters in front of you when the time runs out.

So, I needed to make good use of this prep time.

I immediately began running towards a large rock. The rock covered my entire body when I crouched.

“Good! This’ll work!”

I even knocked on it a couple times, and well, it was definitely a rock. Anyways, it didn’t feel like it’d break anytime soon.

Next, I took out a set of dynokali potions—one vial of akikali juice and one vial of denomel liquid. I tried to hold them steady in my hand, but they clattered together because of my shaking.

“Calm down…I need to calm myself…”

I felt a little regretful I never listened to that meditation mister. If I survive this, maybe I’ll ask for some lessons.

That was it for my prep, all that was left was to wait for the timer to hit 0.

The shaking got worse as I watched the countdown.

I slapped my cheeks and shook my head.

“You can do it! I got this!” I reaffirmed myself.

[0:00]

[Spawning Goblins]

Over the rock I could see five goblins materializing into existence.

Disgusting green bodies wearing only dirty loincloths; Crude, rudimentary weapons ranging from daggers to spears; Hideous faces that not even a mother would love—Those were goblins.

They just looked like they stunk.

Within seconds they finished materializing and looked around curiously.

The goblin holding the spear looked towards me before pointing his spear at me, he shouted to his companions.

“Gruk!”

They all started to charge towards me.

Gulp

They were too slow to be considered ‘fast’ but too fast to be considered ‘slow’, they’d reach my location in just under 20 seconds.

I clenched my dynokail potions tightly and pulled my arm back.

“Hooo…” I exhaled slowly.

40 meters.

30 meters.

20 meters.

“Hup!”

I tossed the potions with shaking hands and ducked.

The vials flew through the air in a large arc.

One of the goblins stared at the vials but none of them stopped charging, all that was on their mind was the order to kill.

It all happened at once.

By a stroke of luck, the akikali vial landed on the goblin’s spear. The glass broke instantly and clear liquid rained all over the group of goblins.

Then, the vial of denomyl liquid struck the top of a goblin’s head, shattering. The red liquid splattered everyone, drops of red struck everywhere—The floor, the goblins, and the akikali juice.

BOOM!

The earth shook. A blast of air pushed past the sturdy rock. My ears ruptured, it felt as if a car exploded.

I fell to the floor.
