Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 1364: Chapter 1363: Visitors from Yingzhou

To Ling Chen, overturning the entire Fish Dragon Sect is not a difficult task, but such actions come with pros and cons. Detaching from the rule of the Fish Dragon Sect may not necessarily improve Fish-dragon island’s situation, and might instead lead to division and conflict, worsening the situation.

The matter ended in reconciliation; Ling Chen achieved his goal of making the Fish Dragon Sect concede, and Longyuan True Immortal accepted Ling Chen’s conditions, gaining Ling Chen’s forgiveness, so the situation didn’t develop into life-and-death fights, with blood flowing like rivers.

After conceding, Longyuan True Immortal, along with many strong members of Fish Dragon Sect, helped the injured among them and left the fishing village looking dejected.

The many fishermen who had been watching the battle all turned their gazes towards Ling Chen, admiration clear in their eyes.

With the power of one person, he repelled the attacks of so many strong adversaries from Fish-dragon island. What four young masters? They were nothing before Ling Chen, crumbling at a mere touch. Even the Sect Leader of the Fish Dragon Sect, Longyuan True Immortal, severely lost to Ling Chen.

Dragon Elephant Prince, already infamous on the island, was applauded when Ling Chen defeated him; as for the other three young masters, they likely won’t cause trouble again.

More importantly, with just one word, Ling Chen reduced their taxes by forty percent, alleviating their burdens tenfold — an incredibly joyous piece of news.

In the eyes of all the islanders, Ling Chen had become a savior-like figure.

Little Butterfly and Uncle Fang stared at Ling Chen with complex expressions, but Little Butterfly stepped forward and said, ”Brother Ling Chen, you are... truly amazing!”

Initially, Ling Chen thought Little Butterfly might be unhappy with him for concealing his strength, but after hearing the latter half of her sentence, his frown eased, and he smiled teasingly, patting Little Butterfly’s head, ”Didn’t you once say I practiced the Swordsmanship for the elderly?”

”I was wrong.”

Little Butterfly looked at Ling Chen with pitiful eyes, then bowed to him, ”It was me, a young lady, who failed to recognize the greatness of Brother Ling Chen and your immense divine power.”

Seeing Little Butterfly’s appearance, Ling Chen couldn’t help but smile and tapped her nose with his finger, ”Well, would you still like to learn my swordsmanship?”

”Yes, of course!”

Little Butterfly’s bright eyes sparkled swiftly; though she didn’t like fighting as a girl, Ling Chen’s performance was so astonishing that it shook her. In front of Ling Chen, no one could stir up any trouble. Such strength could only be described as invincible.

Uncle Fang, on the other hand, had no objection; previously, he didn’t teach Little Butterfly martial arts because his martial arts came from Taiqing Palace and couldn’t be spread casually. Besides, making a girl learn martial arts and involve herself in the world of warriors wasn’t good.

But Ling Chen’s swordsmanship was unparalleled, and if Little Butterfly could receive Ling Chen’s teachings, it would be a heavenly opportunity far stronger than the martial arts he could provide.

”Let’s go, I’ll teach you.”

Ling Chen chuckled slightly; he had mentioned earlier that good deeds would be rewarded, and while his swordsmanship might not be invincible, it would allow Little Butterfly to move freely on Fish-dragon island.

However, the extent to which she could learn from him would depend on her talent and understanding.

In the days that followed, Ling Chen taught Little Butterfly swordsmanship in the village, and the Green Jade Moss promised by Longyuan True Immortal was delivered that very day. With this two-thousand-year-old Green Jade Moss, Ling Chen’s speed of reuniting his True Qi increased significantly; within two or three days, Ling Chen had gathered three points of True Qi in his body.

This speed was several times faster than before.

Ever since Ling Chen and Longyuan True Immortal’s battle, no major events occurred on Fish-dragon island, and the conditions previously agreed upon by Longyuan True Immortal with Ling Chen were implemented without fail; not only was the fishing village repaired, but the island’s taxes were decreased tenfold.

Moreover, Longyuan True Immortal frequently sent disciples to deliver various Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures to Ling Chen. Naturally, Ling Chen accepted all these valuable gifts. It must be said that Longyuan True Immortal understood how to act; the gifts included many Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures not found on the Nine Provinces Land, which were useful to Ling Chen.

Such peaceful days lasted approximately seven days.

Starting from the eighth day, Longyuan True Immortal ceased sending people to the fishing village, and Ling Chen didn’t bother with it. By now, this village had been marked as an independent region by him, outside Fish Dragon Sect’s influence; the fishing village was Ling Chen’s place of rest and recuperation.

”Strike faster with your sword, and make your gaze fiercer.”

In the yard, Ling Chen was instructing Little Butterfly in sword practice, surprised by Little Butterfly’s unexpectedly excellent cultivation talent, though not a peerless prodigy, greatly surpassing average people.

”A sword is a deadly weapon; with a sword in your hand, others’ lives are within your control.”

Ling Chen placed his hands on his chest and continued, ”So when wielding your sword, remember to be fast, accurate, and ruthless—these three points must not be neglected.”

”Understood.”

Little Butterfly nodded, her big eyes gradually sharpening as she thrust forward with her sword.

Piercing sound!

The sharp sword qi penetrated the trunk of the willow tree ahead, creating a hole.

Little Butterfly was joyous, turning her head towards Ling Chen, ”Brother Ling Chen, how was it?”

”Good, keep practicing.”

Ling Chen nodded slightly.

As the young girl continued practicing, Ling Chen prepared to return to the house, when suddenly a sound of cutting through the wind resounded in the nearby sky.

”Hmm?”

Ling Chen looked up, seeing a voluptuous woman in black clothes rapidly approaching, using Light Skill to land not far from him.

This woman in black was one of the Fish Dragon Sect’s four young masters from a few days past, Poison Prince.

Poison Prince still seemed wary upon seeing Ling Chen, for Ling Chen had not only taught them a lesson before but had also defeated Longyuan True Immortal. Such strength was sufficient to command her respect.

”Lord Ling Chen!”

Taking a deep breath, Poison Prince slightly bowed to Ling Chen reverently.

”Anything to say?”

Ling Chen raised an eyebrow, sensing the unusual atmosphere these days along with Poison Prince’s sudden visit most likely indicating some occurrence—and not a small one.

”Indeed, something major has happened.”

Poison Prince smiled bitterly; were it not for serious matters, she wouldn’t dare disturb Ling Chen.

”What major event?” Ling Chen’s expression remained indifferent.

”A number of Sea-State Warriors suddenly arrived at Fish Dragon Sect, and from their tone, it seems they intend to seize control of this island.”

Poison Prince gritted her teeth and said.

”What does it have to do with me?”

Ling Chen shook his head, unfazed; whether Fish-dragon island was ruled by Fish Dragon Sect or the Sea-State people was irrelevant to him.
