Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 1354: Chapter 1353: Fish Dragon Sect

With the help of the elixir, the few lethal wounds on Ling Chen’s body gradually healed, repairing the damaged Dantian, and the almost completely dissipated True Qi within him also began to recover at a slow but steady pace.

In the following days, Ling Chen stayed in the fishing village and became familiar with Little Butterfly and the white-haired middle-aged man.

The white-haired middle-aged man was originally from Xuzhou in the Nine Provinces Land, but later came to this Fish-dragon island to avoid enemies. However, he seemed unwilling to discuss his background with Ling Chen. Even after a few days, Ling Chen only knew that the white-haired man’s surname was Fang, so Ling Chen called him Uncle Fang.

From Little Butterfly’s words, Ling Chen roughly understood the situation of Fish-dragon island. This island is located in the sea area between the Nine Provinces Land and Yingzhou, closer to Yingzhou, roughly one hundred thousand nautical miles away. Currently, the entire island is under the rule of a force called the Fish Dragon Sect.

This Fish Dragon Sect’s force is different from those in the Nine Provinces. It is more like a part of the Dark Forces. People from the cities and villages on Fish-dragon island must hand over half of what they obtain each year unconditionally to the Fish Dragon Sect.

This behavior is no different from that of bandits.

However, the Fish Dragon Sect is a powerful force, dominating the island, with no other force able to rival it, so for a long time, no one dared to resist, and everyone chose to endure silently.

Naturally, Ling Chen wasn’t going to get involved with such matters on Fish-dragon island. Right now, he found his own recovery speed too slow, let alone having time to meddle in other issues. Besides, he was only staying temporarily on this island and wouldn’t remain long. Once his body recovered enough, he would head to Yingzhou immediately.

Inside the room, Ling Chen was sitting cross-legged on the wooden bed, cultivating as usual. However, suddenly, a burst of noise from the outside world shattered the tranquility, sounding extremely harsh.

Ling Chen furrowed his brows; usually, it was quiet around here, but today, it was continuously noisy, and the atmosphere was somewhat unusual.

Getting off the bed, he opened the door and looked at Little Butterfly and the white-haired middle-aged man outside, asking, ”Uncle Fang, what’s happening outside?”

Just as Ling Chen finished speaking, Little Butterfly put up a finger to her lips and softly shushed, signaling Ling Chen not to speak loudly.

”The people from the Fish Dragon Sect have arrived.”

Uncle Fang looked at a nearby spot, his expression grave, ”Our fishing village is within the jurisdiction of one of the four princes of the Fish Dragon Sect, the Dragon Elephant Prince. These guys, backed by the Dragon Elephant Prince, are extremely fierce and overbearing.”

Following Uncle Fang’s gaze, Ling Chen looked over and saw seven or eight figures in blue fish-scaled light armor within sight. These people’s clothes were embroidered with fish and dragon patterns, fish on the left arm and dragon on the right, clearly identifying them as people from the Fish Dragon Sect.

”The people from the Fish Dragon Sect are not to be provoked, Brother Ling Chen, you’d better go inside and hide.”

Uncle Fang whispered.

”Alright.”

Without hesitation, Ling Chen turned to head back inside.

”Stop!”

Just then, a stern shout came from behind, but Ling Chen seemed to not hear it and continued walking forward.

”I’m talking to you, the boy in white! Are you deaf? Stop right there!”

The cold shout came again, and on top of that, Ling Chen felt a chilling intent from behind. He moved his body sideways, and a flash of cold light whisked past his face, embedding into the ground ahead—it was a sharp arrow.

Ling Chen halted in place as approaching hoofbeats quickly closed in. A robust man in his thirties, dressed in black, rode up in front of Ling Chen, his eyes fixed on him for just a moment before they turned icy cold, his weapon aiming at Ling Chen’s face, demanding sharply, ”Who are you? Why have I never seen you before?”

”I’m new here.”

Ling Chen’s expression remained unchanged, ”I just arrived on this island a few days ago, so naturally, Your Excellency doesn’t recognize me.”

”New here?”

The man in black had a slight contraction in his pupils and then sneered, ”Ignorant boy, do you know who controls this Fish-dragon island? Newcomers must report to the Fish Dragon Sect and obtain our permission to stay on this island. Furthermore, they must pay significant contributions to our Fish Dragon Sect.”

Hearing this, Uncle Fang hurriedly stepped forward, cupping his hands toward the man in black with a ingratiating smile, ”Master Liu, this Brother Ling was in a coma and severely injured a few days ago, recuperating at my place. I planned to take him to report to the Fish Dragon Sect once he was better, but unexpectedly, you came first. As for the contributions he needs to make, don’t worry, I will help him settle that.”

”Severely injured?”

Upon hearing this, the man in black relaxed significantly his gaze toward Ling Chen. He had initially thought this kid might be trouble, yet it turned out he was severely injured and still dared behave arrogantly—simply courting death.

His gaze roamed Ling Chen openly, eventually resting on the three swords at Ling Chen’s waist. His eyes suddenly lit up.

Swish!

The man in black flicked his horse whip abruptly, seizing Ling Chen’s Red Sky Sword from his waist.

Clang!

As the Red Sky Sword was unsheathed, an aura of unmatched sharpness burst forth, dazzling onlookers.

”What a sword!”

The eyes of the disciples of the Fish Dragon Sect lit up immediately, filled with a touch of ardent heat. This sword was undoubtedly a rare Treasure Sword!

”This sword will serve as your tribute to the Dragon Elephant Prince.”

Clutching the Red Sky Sword in his hand, the man in black nearly drooled. He had never seen such a Treasure before.

Offering such a Treasure to the Dragon Elephant Prince would certainly boost his standing in the Dragon Elephant Prince’s eyes.

With this thought, he couldn’t wait to take credit and immediately signaled the other disciples of the Fish Dragon Sect, ”Let’s go!”

Then he spurred his horse away, and the other disciples swiftly mounted their horses to follow, disappearing from view quickly.

Watching the man in black lead his people away, Uncle Fang clenched his fists, frowning at Ling Chen, ”They stole your Treasure Sword, and you let them go just like that?”

”No hurry, in a couple of days, they will naturally return the sword.”

Ling Chen said calmly.

”Return it?”

The white-haired middle-aged man was momentarily stunned, then gave a bitter smile. Ling Chen, being new, still greatly underestimated the Fish Dragon Sect, especially the Dragon Elephant Prince, a particularly greedy and vicious figure. Once a wolf had wolfed down meat, there was no way it would spit it back out. It was simply unthinkable.
