Chapter 613: Chapter 611 Dark Sky City_1

The Black Market Headquarters was located on an island called Black Devil Island in the extreme south of the Cloud Outland. Within a radius of a thousand miles, this entire area was under the control of the Black Market. Various business associations, taverns, and even brothels, were all part of the Black Market’s influence.

The forces of the entire Black Market were not evenly distributed. Of course, this thousand-mile area was only the main camp of the Black Market. As for the Black Market’s influence, it was everywhere in the Five Country Territory, complex and innumerable.

”Black Devil Island has been completely controlled by Black Chonghou. We will first go to Dark Sky City this time to meet the Elders,” said Lin Ya, looking at Ling Chen on the back of a Skywind Hawk.

”Dark Sky City? So that’s your resistance headquarters?” Ling Chen asked nonchalantly.

”Yes,” Lin Ya nodded. ”Dark Sky City is the location of Shadow Tower. It’s a safe place. Most of the powerhouses dissatisfied with Black Chonghou are gathered there.”

”The location of Shadow Tower?”

Ling Chen was slightly surprised. The Shadow Tower was a significant and formidable force within the Black Market. The existence of the Shadow Tower could indeed grant a new lease on life to the Black Market’s resistance forces.

The Skywind Hawk broke through the clouds and arrived above a city.

After traveling continuously for four days, Ling Chen and his two companions finally arrived at Dark Sky City.

The entire Dark Sky City was constructed from black stones, with countless buildings rising and falling in distinct layers. In the city center stood an even larger complex of buildings. Even in daylight, the sky above Dark Sky City appeared dim due to the reflection from these black stones.

After jumping down from the Skywind Hawk, the trio landed in a square.

”Black-robed, you are to operate in the shadows,” Ling Chen instructed. ”It’s best not to let anyone in the Black Market know of your existence.”

”Yes.”

Black-robed nodded, then his figure flashed as he flew onto the roof of a building, quickly disappearing from sight.

Many people were coming and going in the square, mostly Black Market Disciples, along with some Deacons and Elders.

This area was already deep within Dark Sky City; no one could enter without a certain status.

”Greetings, Young Master Lin Ya!”

Along the way, people frequently greeted Lin Ya. Her status among the Disciples was very high. Even the Deacons and Elders had to show her considerable respect. Coupled with the immense popularity Lin Ya had always enjoyed among the Black Market Disciples, she naturally attracted much attention.

”Who is this person? He looks so young!”

”His Grandmaster Seventh Realm cultivation is quite impressive. He’s probably an outstanding Disciple from some Sect, no older than twenty, I presume.”

”To be personally escorted by Young Master Lin Ya... tsk tsk.”

These people were not fools. A young man personally escorted by Lin Ya would definitely not be simple. Moreover, from Lin Ya’s attitude when speaking with Ling Chen, it was clear she was being very courteous to this young man.

Ling Chen paid no mind to the others’ gazes. He scanned his surroundings and discovered that a large area was enveloped by a formidable Array Formation. This Array Formation was utterly traceless, making one feel as if it were hidden in the Void.

Surrounding the square, various rare species of flowers and plants rich in Spiritual Qi were cultivated. The medicinal aroma they exuded offered significant benefits for Cultivation.

It seemed the Black Market had been managing Dark Sky City for quite some time.

”Our Black Market has always treated Dark Sky City as a reserve base, so we’ve spared no effort in developing it. Fortunately, because of this, we were able to make it our current headquarters,” Lin Ya explained to Ling Chen.

Ling Chen just nodded. It seemed the forces within the Black Market opposing Black Chonghou were not as weak as he had imagined.

”The Elders should be waiting in the Grand Hall. Let’s go there first.”

”Alright.” Ling Chen nodded slightly.

After all, his previous agreement with Lin Ya was merely verbal. The specific terms of their pact still needed to be finalized with the Elders of the Black Market.

”Ya’er, you’re back.”

Just then, from not far away, an unfamiliar voice called out.

In his line of sight, a young man with a somewhat sinister face was walking towards them.

”Oh, it’s Senior Brother Yuan.” Lin Ya put on her trademark smile and greeted him.

”Ya’er, long time no see. I’ve missed you terribly these days.”

The young man looked at Lin Ya, his eyes filled with deep affection.

”Senior Brother Yuan, I have important matters to attend to right now. We can talk another time if there’s anything.”

Lin Ya clearly wasn’t very interested in this young man. Besides, she had to take Ling Chen to meet the Black Market’s Elders now and didn’t have time to dally with him.

”Important matters? What important matters?” The young man, however, persisted, looking somewhat displeased. ”You’re not deliberately avoiding me, are you?”

Hearing this, even Ling Chen grew impatient. ”Miss Lin Ya, we mustn’t keep the Elders waiting.”

”Yes.” Nodding, Lin Ya prepared to walk around him and lead Ling Chen towards the grand hall in the city center.

Seeing this, the sinister-faced young man’s eyes turned cold. He hadn’t paid Ling Chen much mind initially, assuming he was merely some attendant. Only now did he realize that wasn’t the case.

This person had actually dared to interrupt, much to his displeasure.

”And who might this be?” the sinister-faced young man asked coldly.

”A nobody, not worth mentioning,” Ling Chen replied indifferently.

”I am Yuan Gang, a Gold-ranked Assassin of Shadow Tower,” the sinister-faced young man announced, his tone clearly intended to intimidate.

”Gold-ranked Assassin?” Ling Chen raised an eyebrow. Within the Shadow Tower, Assassins were divided into four levels based on their strength: Gold-ranked, Silver Medal, Bronze Medal, and Iron Medal. A Gold-ranked Assassin was the most potent type of Assassin in the Shadow Tower.

This man indeed possessed some strength. Unfortunately, even a Gold-ranked Assassin posed no threat to him now.

Seeing Ling Chen remain silent, the sinister-faced young man assumed he was intimidated. A look of contempt flashed in his eyes. ”I know that any man would have designs on Ya’er. However, I hope you’re smart enough not to covet what’s beyond your reach.”

”Yuan Gang, what are you saying!” When Lin Ya saw Yuan Gang speaking so insolently to Ling Chen, her pretty face turned icy. This idiot! He doesn’t realize Ling Chen is the savior they invited. If they offend Ling Chen because of this, it would undeniably be digging their own grave.

”Ya’er, who on earth is he? Is he worth you getting so upset over?” Yuan Gang faltered, his expression turning somewhat unsightly. Lin Ya usually addressed him as Senior Brother Yuan, but just now she had called him by his name; she was clearly furious.

”He is an honored guest of our Black Market! Someone you cannot afford to offend. Step aside!” Lin Ya did not reveal Ling Chen’s true identity. After all, Ling Chen’s arrival was a secret known to very few, even within Dark Sky City. Given Yuan Gang’s status, he naturally wasn’t qualified to know such confidential matters.
