Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 94: Chapter 93: Astonishing Discovery_1

Ling Chen chased out of the courtyard. It was the dead of night. The person’s movements were secretive, their identity suspicious, and they were clearly up to something illicit.

While tracking, Ling Chen carefully concealed his aura to avoid leaving any trace for the other party.

Upon catching up, Ling Chen found that, aside from the shadowy figure he had just bumped into, many people in black had appeared around the village in a short time.

The clothes worn by these people in black were not simple night garments. Their attire included hoods that concealed half of their faces, revealing only the contours of the lower half.

To Ling Chen’s surprise, most of these people in black were quite powerful. Their nimble movements were impressive.

These individuals are all powerful, but there’s a hint of evilness emanating from them. Could they be from the Demonic Sect? Ling Chen speculated.

He had encountered people from the Demonic Sect before. The Myriad Beasts Sect, with which he was previously acquainted, was one of the most powerful Demonic Sects. However, these individuals were clearly not from the Myriad Beasts Sect; they likely belonged to other factions within the Demon Way.

Unknowingly, Ling Chen had followed them into a forest.

Finally, seizing an opportunity, Ling Chen knocked out a Martial Artist First Layer and put on his uniform. This way, it would be difficult for the other people in black to notice him.

Upon reaching the mountaintop area, Ling Chen saw that over a hundred people dressed in black had gathered. Almost all of them were at least at the Martial Master Realm. The scale of such a force was truly terrifying.

He even encountered no fewer than ten Great Master Level Powerhouses.

In the most conspicuous position on the mountaintop, a row of lanterns was held by several figures in white who looked like ghosts. Illuminated by these lanterns were three people in black wearing Ghost Masks. These three individuals possessed unfathomable auras and were likely Great Master Level Powerhouses of at least the Sixth Layer Realm.

The leader of these three was a woman. She wore a wide cloak and a Ghost Mask that covered half of her face, but her bright red lips clearly identified her as female.

A woman with two top-tier Great Master Level Powerhouses flanking her. Who exactly is this formidable character?

What do these people want to do? A storm raged in Ling Chen’s heart. With their strength, aren’t they more than capable of usurping power and seizing authority?

Such formidable power! Even the current Divine Intent Sect would find it hard to match.

”Has everyone arrived?” the leading woman asked indifferently.

”Almost.” The masked man on her left glanced around. His gaze lingered momentarily on Ling Chen before he whispered something into the woman’s ear.

Seeing this, Ling Chen’s heart sank. Damn, have I been discovered? I thought my disguise was flawless! It’s over, it’s over! These Demon Cult fiends must have some way to discern identities. If I’m found out, I’m definitely dead.

Ling Chen was filled with regret. I was too rash; I shouldn’t have followed. This time, I’m afraid not even an Immortal could save me.

However, to Ling Chen’s astonishment, after the masked man whispered to her, the woman took no action. She simply waved her jade-like hand and, after sweeping her gaze over the many people in black, declared loudly, ”Since almost everyone is here, all of you stand by and await my command. Tonight, we will flatten the Fire Blade Sect!”

With that, the masked woman, her aura imposing, casually flicked her cloak and walked towards the back of the mountain with the two other masked individuals.

Seeing that the trio showed no signs of taking action against him, Ling Chen breathed a sigh of relief. It seems I was overthinking things.

Ling Chen had heard clearly. These people want to eliminate the Fire Blade Sect?

That has nothing to do with me. Besides, I can’t do anything about it.

Ling Chen had no intention of performing a righteous deed by warning the Fire Blade Sect. He wasn’t familiar with them; in fact, after their few interactions, his impression of the Fire Blade Sect was quite poor. He couldn’t possibly risk his life for them.

Following them here was reckless enough. If I try to warn them, I might very well die here.

I should slip away while they still haven’t noticed me.

Ling Chen took a few steps back. Seeing that the group hadn’t set off yet, he hastily began to retreat.

”Hey, what are you doing?” a nearby man in black asked, eyeing him suspiciously.

”Hehe, brother, relax,” Ling Chen chuckled, patting the man in black on the shoulder. ”Just need to relieve myself.”

”Hurry then. The Lord will soon issue the order to march,” the man in black reminded him.

”Don’t worry, I’ll be right back.” Ling Chen quickly turned and left.

He didn’t want to stay there a moment longer.

「Meanwhile, behind the mountain, the three masked figures in black were discussing something.」

”Lord Xia, I clearly noticed a spy infiltrate our ranks earlier. Why didn’t you let us apprehend him?” the masked man who had previously stood to the woman’s left asked, perplexed.

”There’s no need. I know who this person is. Calling him a spy is a bit of a stretch. Let’s spare him for now. If he has any sense, he should have already taken the opportunity to escape.”

The corners of the masked woman’s bright red lips lifted into a faint, mocking smile.

”But what if he goes to warn them? Wouldn’t that disrupt our plans?” The masked man was still doubtful.

”Rest assured, I know this person. He won’t warn them. Besides, even if he did, it would be too late. Alright, it’s almost time. Give the order to move out!”

Not allowing any more questions, the masked woman waved her hand decisively, her tone firm and unquestionable.

”Yes!” The two masked men quickly complied, cupping their fists and retreating without another word.

By now, Ling Chen had safely descended the mountain. This affair is undoubtedly murky. With so many experts involved, it’s certain to stir up a bloody storm.

It’s hard to say if the Fire Blade Sect can withstand such a surprise attack.

Ling Chen recalled the attack on the Divine Intent Sect. I’m afraid the force that attacked my Divine Intent Sect back then was even larger than this one. It was likely a similar sneak attack that plunged our Divine Intent Sect into an irreversible catastrophe...

A cold glint flashed in Ling Chen’s eyes. The Demon Way... the Saint Witch Religion... Isn’t the Saint Witch Religion my greatest enemy?

That group from before... they were likely members of the Saint Witch Religion.

However, even if I want to seek revenge, now is not the time.

Returning to the estate, Ling Chen went straight to bed without undressing, remaining partially alert.

Later that night, just as Ling Chen had expected, a heavy rain began to fall. The ROARING sound of the downpour drowned out everything else, thoroughly washing the filth from the earth.

The heavy rain continued until the next morning.

「Early the next morning, Ling Chen and Bai Susu bid farewell to the people at the estate and rode off.」

He looked in the direction of the Fire Blade Sect. In the distance, he could see smoke billowing. It seems an earth-shattering battle took place there last night.
