Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 54: Chapter 53: The Mystery of the Heavenly Emperor Heavy Sword_1

At that moment, the Demonic Ape Blood Essence within Ling Chen was activated by this sudden, terrifying killing intent, boiling and coursing throughout his entire body.

Two red lights filled Ling Chen’s eyes.

Ling Chen seemed to transform into a beast with blood-red eyes, completely consumed by the intention to kill.

”What?”

The leader of the people in black noticed something was wrong with Ling Chen, but it was too late to withdraw his sword strike. He could only put even more force into a fierce slash towards Ling Chen.

Watching the aggressive sword qi fall, a warped killing intent also emerged on Ling Chen’s face. The Heavenly Emperor Heavy Sword swung out fiercely, colliding thunderously with the sword qi of the leader of the people in black.

CRACK!

A clear sound echoed. To the horror of the leader in black, his sword qi was cut in two by Ling Chen. Even his sword was snapped by Ling Chen. Finally, as the leader watched with wide, horrified eyes, the arcing sword qi Ling Chen swung sliced his right arm clean off.

”Ah!”

A painful scream tore from his lips. The leader in black clutched his severed arm and reeled backward, his eyes filled with terror.

”Sir, are you alright?!”

The two men in black rushed forward to support their leader. Their faces were also extremely shocked. The leader in black was a Martial Artist of the Third Level. How could he be defeated so easily? Wasn’t this boy utterly exhausted just moments ago? How could he suddenly erupt with such terrifying power now?

”Get back! This guy has gone berserk!”

The horror in the eyes of the leader in black lingered. His fighting spirit had been completely annihilated by Ling Chen’s last strike. Worse still was the mental impact; the terrifying killing intent radiating from Ling Chen was enough to utterly shatter a person’s will.

At the moment Ling Chen’s sword had struck him, he felt as if he were standing in a sea of blood atop a mountain of corpses, countless pairs of bloodthirsty red eyes staring at him, his will completely crushed.

”Could it really be this strange?”

The two men in black still hesitated, but in that moment of hesitation, Ling Chen was already before them. The Heavenly Emperor Heavy Sword in his hand seemed weightless as he suddenly slashed downward.

CRACK! CRACK!

The long swords of the two men in black were cut apart without any resistance, as if made of paper. The Heavenly Emperor Heavy Sword then swept across their necks, sending a spray of blood into the air.

THUD! THUD!

The bodies of both men fell almost simultaneously, lifeless.

”How could this be?”

The leader in black kept retreating, his eyes fixed tightly on Ling Chen, completely bewildered. Ling Chen now seemed like a different person entirely, a battlefield Asura, a conqueror stained with the blood of millions.

Ling Chen was just a youth. How could he emit such killing intent? This was clearly not something a young man should possess.

However, Ling Chen gave him no time to think. The blood-stained heavy sword was already before him, its sharp edge pointed directly at his glabella.

In his desperation, he could only thrust out his left hand to catch Ling Chen’s blade in mid-air, gripping it tightly.

Blood gushed from the leader’s palm as he desperately tried to block Ling Chen’s sword. But how could a mere hand of flesh withstand Ling Chen in his current state?

Leaving a trail of bright red blood, the leader of the men in black stumbled backward, ultimately crashing against a large tree. The Heavenly Emperor Heavy Sword then mercilessly pierced his chest.

The blade pierced the leader’s body and stabbed into his heart.

THUD!

Just before the Heavenly Emperor Heavy Sword pierced his body, the leader of the people in black threw a punch at Ling Chen’s chest. Though the punch was incredibly powerful, enough to make Ling Chen spit out a mouthful of blood, it failed to move Ling Chen’s body even slightly.

SCHLICK!

The Heavenly Emperor Heavy Sword was pulled from the leader’s body. Ling Chen slumped, half-kneeling on the ground as if he had exhausted all his strength. The crimson in his eyes began to fade.

At that moment, the visions of corpse-strewn battlefields and seas of blood vanished from Ling Chen’s mind, which returned to normal. The killing intent and baleful energy emanating from him also rapidly dissipated.

Gasping heavily, Ling Chen struggled to regain control of his senses. His gaze fell upon the Heavenly Emperor Heavy Sword. Yes, just moments ago, an incredibly terrifying killing intent had erupted from this sword. It had overwhelmed him, activating the Demonic Ape Blood Essence within him and escalating his combat power to a frightening level.

However, the side effects were also quite apparent. If I can’t control this killing intent, I might go berserk and die, especially with the Demonic Ape Blood Essence still in my body.

”I have to leave here quickly.” Ling Chen dragged his heavy body. He was currently extremely weak; even the smallest wild beast could probably kill him. In these perilous hunting grounds, he doubted he could survive longer than the time it takes to drink a cup of tea.

With the thick scent of blood in the air, it wouldn’t be long before Exotic Beasts were attracted to this place. If that happened, he would be doomed.

However, just as this thought crossed Ling Chen’s mind, pairs of crimson eyes suddenly lit up in the surrounding forest.

”This is bad.” Seeing those pairs of red eyes, Ling Chen’s heart plummeted. Talk about bad luck, and they arrived so quickly!

As the pairs of red eyes drew closer, Ling Chen could make out the faint silhouettes of beasts. It’s really over this time.

Taking a deep breath, Ling Chen closed his eyes. He had no strength left to do anything. All that remained was to wait for death.

Exhaling in resignation, Ling Chen’s body went limp, and he collapsed. Yet, as he fell, he felt himself land in a soft, fragrant embrace. The sensation was incredibly comforting.

”Ling Chen, wake up.”

A pleasant female voice reached his ears. Ling Chen managed to flutter his eyelids open. Before him was a face of devastating, city-toppling beauty.

”You’re here.”

Seeing the familiar face, a slight smile touched Ling Chen’s lips. The owner of this stunningly beautiful face was none other than Xu Ruoyan. Looks like I don’t have to worry about being eaten by wild beasts anymore.

”You! Getting ambushed even out here! Just how many people want you dead? If you can’t win, can’t you run?” Xu Ruoyan took out a Green Healing Pill and fed it to Ling Chen. Then, she placed her jade-like hand on his chest. A stream of refreshingly cool True Qi flowed from her palm into Ling Chen’s body, helping to stabilize his internal injuries.

”If I could have run, only a fool would have stayed to fight. Everyone has their own destiny. Besides, I’m not dead, am I? They say if you survive a great disaster, good fortune will follow.”

Ling Chen managed a weak smile. His gaze shifted to the three corpses of the men in black nearby. Even now, I still don’t know who sent them. If I could have, I really should have kept one alive. Unfortunately, I completely lost it earlier and wasn’t thinking clearly enough for that.

”Alright, stop talking. I’ll get you out of here.”

Xu Ruoyan helped Ling Chen up. He was severely injured and needed to be taken back for proper treatment to recover.
