Chapter 51: Chapter 50 Killing the Dragon-patterned Leopard_1

”I bet even the Crown Prince himself would not have anticipated that, after being clever his whole life, he’d be foolish this one time and actually hand over the opportunity to kill the Dragon-patterned Leopard to others.” Xiao Muyu unsheathed the Treasure Sword at her waist, casting a meaningful glance in the direction where the Crown Prince and his party had fled. ”A shrewd person like the Crown Prince would never have guessed that all his effort would ultimately benefit someone else.”

”Even the most meticulous can have an oversight. He has only himself to blame for having such an incompetent teammate in the Fourth Prince,” Ling Chen smirked coldly. ”If Ying Wuqing hadn’t killed the Dragon-Patterned Cub right out from under them, they wouldn’t have brought this trouble upon themselves and ended up in such a sorry state.”

”We should finish off this Dragon-patterned Leopard soon.”

Without much hesitation, Ling Chen picked up the longbow. He nocked the final Divine Mechanism Arrow onto the bowstring. With a WHOOSH, he unleashed the arrow, which accurately pierced the left eye of the Dragon-patterned Leopard.

The arrowhead of the Divine Mechanism Arrow exploded; the left side of the leopard’s head was blasted apart, and its eyeball dissolved into a fog of blood.

”Rain Spirit Sword Technique, Water Seeking Heart!”

Xiao Muyu had already drawn her sword and charged. Suddenly, she kicked off a tree trunk, using its rebound to spring into the air, and thrust her sword straight out.

The sharp point of her sword plunged straight into the Dragon-patterned Leopard’s brow, piercing through its skull.

BOOM!

The Dragon-patterned Leopard struggled for a moment but eventually collapsed to the ground, gasping its last breaths.

Xiao Muyu withdrew her long sword, then plunged it into the Dragon-patterned Leopard’s abdomen, completely ending its life.

”I can’t believe we actually hunted a Dragon-patterned Leopard.”

Xiao Muyu, looking at the carcass of the Dragon-patterned Leopard on the ground, still found it hard to believe what had just happened. This mid-tier, second-grade Exotic Beast, the Dragon-patterned Leopard, had actually died at their hands so easily.

”We owe much of this to those two princes,” Ling Chen said, shaking his head. If the Crown Prince hadn’t exerted all his strength to severely injure the Dragon-patterned Leopard, they wouldn’t have been able to seize this opportunity so easily.

”It’s time to gather our loot.”

Xiao Muyu approached the Dragon-patterned Leopard’s corpse, took out a small knife, and began to collect materials from its body.

Besides the valuable parts, its fur and other items had to be taken as proof that they had killed the Dragon-patterned Leopard.

Seeing this, Ling Chen couldn’t suppress a smile. Just as he was about to speak, his expression suddenly changed. With a SWOOSH, he darted forward, grabbed Xiao Muyu—who had just finished gathering the loot—by the waist, and pulled them both down in a dive.

And just as Ling Chen lunged, pulling Xiao Muyu with him, a dark shadow suddenly shot out from the forest. The hand that had been reaching for Xiao Muyu grasped only air, and its owner let out a surprised ”Eh?”

After rolling with Xiao Muyu a couple of times on the ground, Ling Chen quickly got up. He stared vigilantly at the shadow that had suddenly appeared, his pupils then contracting slightly.

There, atop the Dragon-patterned Leopard’s carcass in the clearing, stood a figure. He was dressed in a black robe, his face grim and his demeanor fierce. His narrow eyes flickered with cunning.

”Heh heh, not bad, kid. You’re pretty nimble,” the dark shadow gazed at Ling Chen and let out a strange laugh. Then his gaze fell upon the Dragon-patterned Leopard’s corpse on the ground, his pupils constricting slightly before returning to Ling Chen. ”To think that you two little brats could kill this Dragon-patterned Leopard. I imagine you didn’t manage that with your own true abilities, did you?”

The Dragon-patterned Leopard’s strength was comparable to a Third Level Martial Artist, similar to his own. In his view, these two kids definitely couldn’t have done it.

”Who are you?” Ling Chen stared intently at the figure. The palm of his hand gripping Xiao Muyu’s slender hand grew damp with sweat. From this person, he undeniably sensed a dangerous presence. It was the bloodthirsty aura of a wolf, an oppressive killing intent one would only acquire after taking hundreds of lives.

”Since you’re about to die, there’s no harm in telling you.” The dark figure grinned. ”I am Qing Mo. Someone wants your life, kid. They promised to restore my freedom once I’ve disposed of you.”

Laughing wickedly, Qing Mo’s gaze fell upon the girl beside Ling Chen. Xiao Muyu possessed a soft, slender figure, a well-endowed chest, and a delicate waist that seemed small enough to encircle with one hand. Combined with her exquisite beauty, she made him lick his lips uncontrollably.

”As for the woman next to you, consider her a bonus prize for this battle.”

Who doesn’t like beautiful women? Especially Qing Mo, who had been locked in the Sky Prison for several months. The moment he saw Xiao Muyu, he had set his sights on her.

”Those two young warriors whose bodies we found earlier—was that your doing?” Ling Chen’s expression turned grim. He recalled the two corpses he and Xiao Muyu had stumbled upon; it was highly probable that the man before them was responsible.

”Indeed.” The chilling smile on Qing Mo’s lips widened. ”Those two reckless kids inadvertently stumbled upon my tracks. To keep them from blabbing, I had to dispose of them.”

”Aren’t you afraid that attacking us here will alert the experts outside the hunting ground? There are Grand Master-level powerhouses out there,” Ling Chen said, narrowing his eyes.

”’Grand Master?’ Hundreds of miles away, even a Grand Master can’t intervene here. By the time one arrives, I’ll have already dealt with you completely.” Killing intent flashed in Qing Mo’s eyes. ”Don’t try to stall for time. No one is coming to save you. Now, which of you two shall I deal with first?”

His gaze shifted between them for a moment, then locked onto Ling Chen. ”I’ll slaughter you first, kid. Once the task is complete, I’ll take my sweet time with what’s left.”

”Run!”

Targeted by Qing Mo’s murderous gaze, Ling Chen abruptly shoved Xiao Muyu aside and roared.

Xiao Muyu was shoved four or five meters away. Her beautiful eyes gazed at Ling Chen’s tall, slender figure, a faint mist welling within them. Then, she quickly turned and darted into the forest behind her.

Qing Mo had come prepared. In a direct confrontation, the two of them were no match for him.

”Trying to escape?”

Qing Mo wasn’t about to let Xiao Muyu escape so easily. He was about to pursue when Ling Chen suddenly pulled something from his sleeve that looked like a Hidden Weapon.

”Silver Thunder Bomb!”

Just as Qing Mo decided to ignore Ling Chen’s attempt to stop him, he saw the young man suddenly clench his fist. A bright light seemed to appear in Ling Chen’s hand, followed by his fierce shout.

”Silver Thunder Bomb?”

Upon hearing this name, a shudder ran through Qing Mo. Although Ling Chen’s strength was negligible, the Silver Thunder Bomb was an incredibly terrifying Hidden Weapon. Even a powerful Martial Artist couldn’t withstand it. He glanced at the Dragon-patterned Leopard’s corpse and became even more certain. This Dragon-patterned Leopard was clearly dealt its fatal injuries by a Silver Thunder Bomb!

Qing Mo’s eyes flickered, and he ultimately halted his pursuit. Staring at the ball of silver light rushing towards him, he let out a low growl and unleashed his majestic True Qi, enveloping his entire body.

His body shot back over ten meters.

CRACK!

Just as the silver light was about to collide with his body, it suddenly burst open. The anticipated violent explosion didn’t occur; instead, a cloud of smoke rapidly spread, quickly blurring his vision.

This sudden turn of events left Qing Mo stunned for a moment. Then, his expression changed dramatically as he instantly understood. ”You cunning little whelp, you dare trick me?!”

The corners of Qing Mo’s mouth twitched, and a bone-chilling light flared in his eyes. He then charged into the smoke. However, Ling Chen had already seized the opportunity to flee, now dozens of meters away, speeding in the opposite direction.
