Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era

Chapter 254: Chapter 158: Calamity_3

”Based on my preliminary judgment, if we cannot stop the calamity at its early stage, the forces existing underground will quickly spread to the extent that even Heroic Spirit Tier Awakened ones cannot salvage it. At that point, humanity would have no choice but to completely abandon this world.”

Su Jinyu’s words made everyone look solemn, and Chu Xiu slightly furrowed his brows.

Although he felt the other party was somewhat alarmist, he pondered for a moment and realized there might actually be some truth to it.

Setting aside the mysterious presence underground, just the reproductive ability of the corrupted humans is terrifying enough. Underground, they maintain such a large number just by eating rocks; once they reach the surface with abundant, readily available food sources with higher energy utilization rates, won’t that be even worse?

However, an idea suddenly popped into Chu Xiu’s mind: the increase of these underground creatures may not necessarily be a bad thing. Doesn’t it mean he has a continuous source of experience points and Cause and Effect Points from another perspective?

When he shared his thoughts, everyone immediately gave him a surprised look, seemingly not expecting him to still entertain such thoughts at this time.

But unfortunately, Su Jinyu quickly shattered his idea: ”That certainly won’t work. Abyssal Power can help Abyssal creatures grow quickly, but it’s not the sole factor in their growth.”

”The essence of Abyssal Power is the acceleration of time and causal relationships. Cause and Effect Points work that way; when we kill monsters and level up to gain experience, it’s a visualization of the absorption of Abyssal Power.”

”And for worlds not consumed by the Abyss, the total amount of Abyssal Power is fixed. This means those Abyssal creatures can continue to grow by devouring living beings, but no matter how high their level rises, the experience and Cause and Effect Points we gain from killing them won’t change at all.”

”If that weren’t the case, wouldn’t we have long been breeding and rearing Abyssal creatures on a large scale?”

Su Jinyu’s words made Chu Xiu suddenly understand; no wonder he had killed so many Abyssal creatures before, yet the growth in experience didn’t meet his expectations. He wasn’t even halfway to Level 4.

Therefore, the strategy of letting the calamity grow and fattening them up for later slaughter is nonexistent. For him, the optimal solution is to consume this batch of experience as early as possible.

”But with our power, it’s simply impossible,” said Fang Team Leader Zhao Yinwu.

”That’s right,” Liu Feng nodded, ”We don’t have professions like Mechanician or Destruction Mage that can perform large-scale damage Skills. Given the pit’s vastness and the terrifying number of underground residents, even throwing a nuclear bomb in might not clear it all, let alone us.”

”So we need to proceed in three steps,” Su Jinyu calmly laid out her plan.

”First, immediately send someone back to the base for reinforcements; second, have those who remain constantly monitor the state within the mountain and find ways to slow down their destruction of the mountain to buy as much time as possible; finally, send someone to find nearby Pollutants and reclaim them all.”

”Reclaim Pollutants?”

”Yes, as I said, Abyssal Power helps them grow quickly, and Pollutants contain large amounts of Abyssal Power, though we Awakened cannot directly use it.”

”However, the underground calamity can definitely utilize it; perhaps one Pollutant can easily cultivate tens of thousands of underground residents. If I’m not mistaken, those corrupted Awakened haven’t engaged us in actual combat, probably to conserve manpower to search for nearby Pollutants.”

Su Jinyu’s calm analysis made Chu Xiu glance at her again; he hadn’t thought of this point.

It’s not that Chu Xiu is stupid, but rather the lack of key knowledge prevented him from noticing this point.

Nonetheless, even though Su Jinyu proposed a very reasonable plan, it was still rejected.

”Sorry, but my master and I don’t want to take this risk,” the elder said calmly. ”Currently, the risks here are too great and no longer suitable for my master’s training.”

Liu Feng also nodded: ”I feel the same way; I won’t risk my life for this opportunity.”

Evidently, the scene of being surrounded by corrupted humans left a significant psychological impact on him.

Chu Xiu thought to himself, no wonder these few people were holding onto his reward; they had already decided to bail out.

As for Fang Team, they hesitated.

For Xue Li and other upper-class individuals, if an opportunity in one place isn’t suitable, they decisively switch to another world, which is quite normal. It’s just a matter of a billion or two Huaxia Coins.

As for whether this world gets consumed, what does it matter to them?

However, for the civilian workers, the price of an Anchor Point is most of their savings! Originally, Fang Team expected to earn big in the Corpse Demon World; asking them to abandon this now, how could they be willing?
