Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era

Chapter 246: Chapter 156: Corruption Link

As the mana surged into Chu Xiu’s body, the Soul Banner in his hand immediately shone brightly. The ghostly beings within, driven by him, started to hunt ownerless souls frantically, as if injected with adrenaline!

More than ten thousand Life Souls might sound like a lot, but under the devouring of the overwhelming ghostly beings, they were almost entirely torn to shreds in no time, transforming into pure soul energy, with only a few high-potential souls being retained by Chu Xiu to be refined into new ghostly beings.

The flesh and blood were refined into Blood Fiend.

Nurtured by these two streams of pure energy, the ghostly beings began to advance and mutate!

Before long, after the Soul Banner calmed down, an extremely fierce aura emanated from within.

Sensing this aura, a hint of pleasure flashed in Chu Xiu’s eyes.

”This time, I’ve added more than twenty Fierce Ghosts! Now the total number of Fierce Ghosts has exceeded fifty!”

”Moreover, the number of Yin Ghosts has also been greatly replenished, reaching over a thousand! There are two thousand Yin Ghosts!”

At just Fierce Tier Level 3, there are fifty Fierce Tier, thousands of Warrior Tier!

If other summoning professions knew about this, their eyes would likely pop out of their heads in shock, and this is merely the initial form of the Ghostly Legion!

Chu Xiu could feel that after the increase in the number of ghostly beings, a faint hint of blood aura covered his Soul Banner, and the rod became even more spiritual, as if it had devoured some great elixir.

”When it was the Yin Soul Banner and Evil Soul Banner, the Soul Banner was like a house for ghostly beings, requiring constant expansion and crafting to accommodate more ghostly beings.”

”But after I established my Foundation, this new inheritance seems to have undergone a qualitative change!”

”The brand-new Fierce Soul Banner is no longer just a space for ghostly beings to reside in, but more like a symbiotic existence that merges with countless ghostly beings! A portion of the power from those devoured ownerless souls also nourishes the Soul Banner!”

”This means that the more ghostly beings there are, the stronger they are, the stronger the Soul Banner itself becomes! I no longer need to refine the Soul Banner separately; devouring souls is the best refining method!”

Moreover, Chu Xiu could feel that this trend of change was becoming increasingly evident, and once it reached a certain critical point, the Soul Banner would undergo another transformation!

”This should be what the panel description refers to: when there are a hundred Fierce Ghosts and a Ghost General, it will be promoted to the Hundred Souls Banner!”

Chu Xiu was very much looking forward to the changes the Soul Banner would undergo at that time!

”Fierce Ghosts are easy; with so many Abyssal creatures here, my Ghostly Legion will grow rapidly like a snowball, and it shouldn’t take long to gather a hundred Fierce Ghosts.”

”It’s just that I don’t know how to cultivate this Ghost General.”

Currently, Chu Xiu had only three souls with the potential to become Ghost Generals: a Baron, a Blood Angel, and a Corrupted Warrior.

However, having the potential does not necessarily mean it will happen, just like when Chu Xiu was at the Mortal Tier, he obtained a soul with the potential to become a Fierce Ghost after killing an Elite Corpse Demon in the basement of the apartment building, but despite following Chu Xiu for so long and devouring a large number of Life Souls, it was still a Fierce Ghost.

Having potential just means it’s theoretically possible.

”These three souls seem to be just on the cusp of becoming Ghost Generals; I should find a soul with even greater potential, otherwise I might waste a lot of resources,” Chu Xiu thought inwardly.

The same resources, naturally, yield greater benefits when fed to a genius.

With this in mind, just as Chu Xiu was about to explore the nearby environment, a rumbling sound suddenly reached his ears.

The sound was very faint, but it immediately put Chu Xiu on alert. He squinted his eyes, scanning the sky thousands of meters high to find the source of the sound, and soon locked onto a giant peak.

It was one of the mountains in this expansive range, and the rumbling was coming from inside the mountain!

Chu Xiu’s eyes narrowed, and just as he was hesitating whether to send out ghostly beings to investigate, the surface of the mountain exploded with a large hole, and the next moment, an old man carrying a young man burst out—it was the Level 9 General Tier old man and Master Xue Li!

Soon after, the Fang Squad and Su Jinyu, along with other individuals, also rushed out of the cave, as if being chased by something extremely terrifying, running madly towards the distance.

The rumbling sound grew louder, and suddenly a massive wave of underground inhabitants surged out of the cave mouth like a flood!

They crowded together, clawing over each other’s bodies to move forward, yet surprisingly, their speed wasn’t hindered by the congestion, and within just a few breaths, thousands had surged out!

With the explosion after explosion, the mountain’s surface opened one hole after another, with countless underground inhabitants pouring out of each one! They held makeshift weapons crafted from steel fragments, chasing after Xue Li and the others, the entire mountainside covered with them, like a primitive tribe hunting mammoths!

”I was just thinking about them, and here they are.”

Chu Xiu had planned to use these individuals as cannon fodder to explore the way; he didn’t expect to encounter them so soon.

Chu Xiu speculated that during the pit upheaval, this team might have been exploring nearby and thus got entangled with the scattered underground residents.

However, he was still a bit puzzled about this.

Why would this team, with their lowest rank at Fierce Tier Level 9, be caught by these low-tier creatures?

When Chu Xiu himself was fleeing, only the Corrupted Awakened could keep up.
