Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era

Chapter 211: Chapter 144: Abyss City_2

This shows just how difficult it is to forcefully clear this trial.

This also made Chu Xiu feel a bit fortunate. Luckily, out of caution, he first had Song Lichuan and others hold off the Baron, while he slaughtered the entire gambling city to cultivate the Heaven-Reaching Blood Vine. If he had relied on his own strength and recklessly charged ahead, he might have been brutally beaten by the Baron with the Notary!

”Fortunately, I succeeded in the end.”

A genuine smile appeared on Chu Xiu’s face.

The difficulty of this trial is so high, the rewards are bound to be excellent, and he nearly maxed out the Task Contribution Points he could earn! Adding the Task Contribution Points increased by Destiny Chips, his total Task Contribution Points could reach nearly ten thousand! Much more than the first trial!

With such terrifying Task Contribution Points, who knows what good things the Abyss will offer.

Chu Xiu is very much looking forward to it!

And even without considering the task rewards, the gains this time are already abundant!

Chu Xiu willed, and the Celestial Demon Hand stretched out to the Baron’s corpse.

Instantly, a shield engraved with a sun insignia fell into Chu Xiu’s hand.

”I hope the gains match my effort.”

In order to defeat the Baron’s trio, not to mention using the [Legendary] Artifact, more than half of the Demon Legion perished, which pained him greatly.

Without much further thought, Chu Xiu began to examine the attributes of the shield in his hand.

[Great Sun Guard Shield]

[Current Tier: Warrior]

[True Tier: General]

[Grade: Legend]

[Attribute One: All Attributes +20]

[Attribute Two: Body Protection 220, holder’s Mental Attack Resistance +140]

[Attribute Three: The Power of the Great Sun will protect the holder, with an extra Constitution +60, and injuries to Life and Soul will continuously recover.]

[Attribute Four: After a brief charge, release a High-Energy Beam with Power 500 from the center of the shield, with a cooldown of two minutes, dealing double damage to enemies with Soul Body Traits.]

[Attribute Five: After a brief charge, release a Flame Explosion with Power 800 centered on oneself, with a cooldown of five minutes, dealing double damage to enemies with Soul Body Traits.]

[Evaluation: Standard equipment of the Great Sun Guard, capable of both offense and defense, contains a trace of the Sun God’s Divine Power.]

[Note: The two attack skills share the same cooldown time, and during cooldown, all attribute bonuses are lost.]

The attributes of the Great Sun Guard Shield brought a satisfied look to Chu Xiu’s face.

A very decent piece of equipment, it offers good foundational value addition, with its body providing 220 points of Defense, which is almost comparable to the Frenzied Celestial Demon Hand, addressing Chu Xiu’s imbalance in offense and defense.

In previous battles, when Chu Xiu used the Frenzied Celestial Demon Hand to attack the Notary, the Blood Angels seized the opportunity, directly charging in and severely injuring him. Without the Blood of Immortality, Chu Xiu might have been finished.

If he had this shield at that time, it would have allowed him to handle the situation with much more ease.

Moreover, it comes with two strong ultimate skills, one a linear laser-like attack and the other a bomb-like wide-range explosion, both dealing double restraint to Ghost-type enemies, making it very practical.

Of course, this is after all just a Warrior Tier piece of equipment. Even if it trades an extended cooldown for attack power beyond its own tier, its current Power is just barely comparable to Chu Xiu’s strongest Frenzied Celestial Demon Hand strike.

It’s not that Legendary Equipment is lacking, it’s just that Chu Xiu is too exceptional. Which Awakened can throw a punch with Power of 1700 at the Warrior Tier?

However, the preciousness of Legendary Equipment lies in the fact that its Power will gradually unlock as the user ascends in tier. Once Chu Xiu reaches the Fierce Tier, the Power of these two ultimates will exceed that of the Frenzied Celestial Demon Hand.

And there are now less than two hours left until the trial ends.

This makes Chu Xiu very excited about the upcoming tier elevation!

Just as Chu Xiu was wondering what powerful inheritance the Fierce Tier would bring, the completely healed Bian Guanyue and Song Lichuan rushed over from afar.

Seeing Chu Xiu with broken armor, covered in blood, their eyes showed expressions of gratitude.

At that moment, they were certain of their own deaths, when Chu Xiu descended like a savior from the skies, rescuing them from the brink of death. This near-death experience made them cherish life more and be extremely grateful to Chu Xiu.

”Brother Chen, I can’t thank you enough for saving my life! I pledge to repay this debt with utmost gratitude!” Song Lichuan cupped his fists and saluted.

Bian Guanyue also said, ”Thank you, Mr. Chen, for your timely rescue. I, as a young lady, will never dare to forget this favor and sentiment.”

However, facing the gratitude of the two, Chu Xiu merely glanced at them and then extended his hand, saying calmly, ”No need to say more about gratitude.”

”What about the payment?”

Chu Xiu’s straightforward words left the two momentarily stunned, but they quickly realized: ”What would Brother Chen require?”

”I want your Legendary Equipment.” Without a second thought, Chu Xiu made a lion’s demand.

”This...”

Chu Xiu’s words left the two exchanging glances. After a while, Song Lichuan could only smile wryly and say, ”Brother Chen, it’s not that I am reluctant to give up [Legendary] Equipment, but this item is not mine to give. It was bestowed by the Celestial King and can’t be passed to others without his approval.”

Upon hearing this, Chu Xiu felt somewhat disappointed, but he was somewhat aware of the situation, knowing that top-tier factions often have designated equipment libraries where members can freely borrow items at lower tiers and return them once they ascend, for future members to use.

Song Lichuan, although a disciple of the Celestial King, seemed to come from an ordinary family background. This scenario seemed reasonable and not like a lie.

As for Bian Guanyue, the situation was the same. Her [Legendary] Equipment came from the military and couldn’t be given to others.
