Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era

Chapter 127: Chapter 110: Soul of Decay

”Finally, it’s perfect!”

Looking at the skeletal armor undergoing astonishing changes before his eyes, a gleam of joy flashed in Chu Xiu’s eyes.

To upgrade this skeleton armor, he had no idea how many corpses he had fed into it.

Just the corpses consumed at this level might be enough to refine five sets of perfect white bone armor.

He even refrained from turning the giant bear into a resurrected corpse for the sake of the upgrade.

Of course, there’s also the reason that the bear’s enormous size made it difficult to move around with Chu Xiu.

”Hopefully, the effects of the armor can live up to the sheer number of corpses!”

As the corpse of the Fierce Tier giant bear was completely refined, the skeleton armor underwent a fundamental transformation, with more and more tightly fitting plates adhering to Chu Xiu’s body.

A panel appeared before Chu Xiu, capturing his attention.

[Exquisite Skeleton Armor +10]

[Tier: Warrior]

[Quality: Supreme]

”Supreme quality!”

Chu Xiu’s eyes lit up.

This was an extremely rare quality, signifying that every detail of the item had been polished to perfection!

Typically, equipment of [Supreme] quality rarely drops directly; it is usually intensified and upgraded in the later stages by [Blacksmiths], [Weapon Masters], and other support professions.

An item of this quality, in terms of attributes, does not fall short compared to [Legendary] equipment; it might be even stronger in basic attributes!

But as [Supreme] quality is still crafted by mortals, it lacks some extraordinary traits compared to legendary equipment.

Moreover, most [Legendary] equipment possesses the [Upgradeable] attribute, each containing immense power, temporarily adjusting to the Awakened’s grade, allowing them to equip it in advance.

As the grade of the Awakened increases, their power gradually unlocks, making [Legendary] equipment so precious and rare!

Nonetheless, a [Supreme] item is worth several times, even ten times, more than a [Perfect] item!

Chu Xiu examined the skeleton armor, noting each plate had hardened beyond what it was before, with a defense surpassing forty points!

These are terrifying figures, as general Warrior Tier perfect armor, even the heavy armor type, typically reaches only about twenty-five points in defense!

After reaching perfection, three restrictions of the skeleton armor upgraded, power increasing by about thirty percent, simultaneously unlocking a fourth restriction!

[Soul of Decay: Can consume energy to create ghosts that seize life force, storing up to ninety-nine within the armor.]

Chu Xiu squinted and immediately activated this restriction.

Instantly, energy within his body began depleting, and when the consumption reached about five points, an invisible soul appeared before him.

Similar to a ghost, this creature also possessed the [Soul Body] trait, but unlike a ghost, it had no consciousness, only numerous chaotic violent thoughts, and once refined, it adhered to one of the armor plates of the skeletal armor.

Chu Xiu paused in contemplation, glancing around the area, and soon discovered a neglected Mortal Tier Level 9 corpse demon, as his mind moved, the Soul of Decay shot out. Its speed wasn’t particularly fast, but it could automatically track and was difficult to block due to the traits of the soul body!

The corpse demon perceived the approaching Soul of Decay, swinging sharp claws to try to block it, which undoubtedly inflicted some damage to the Soul of Decay but couldn’t entirely obliterate its soul body. Once the Soul of Decay entered the corpse demon, with a scream, the corpse demon’s flesh visibly shriveled, turning into bones in just two or three seconds!

Chu Xiu exhaled slowly; this restriction... is quite powerful!

He estimated the power of this Soul of Decay roughly equaled standing in the most potent area of the skeleton armor’s Apoptosis Domain for six seconds.

Don’t underestimate the mere six seconds; it represents an exceedingly frightening figure. Before the upgrade, the skeleton armor could already wear down S-Class close combat professional Wei Shan! And that with him having Holy Light Protection!

And the maximum storage capacity of the Soul of Decay is a complete ninety-nine units! If all hit, it equates nearly to restraining an opponent in the most powerful area of the Apoptosis Domain for ten minutes!

Even the life force of that Fierce Tier giant bear would be sucked dry!

”The only downside is that the Soul of Decay is one-time use; once used, it disappears, and forming one requires significant energy.”

All in all, it’s still a tremendously powerful offensive restriction!

”Not at all regretting consuming so many corpses.” Chu Xiu displayed a satisfied smile.

Turning, he was about to leave, but just then, Chu Xiu suddenly sensed a gaze abruptly settle upon him!

This gaze was not a physical stare but directly affecting his soul, making Chu Xiu’s hair stand on end, as he quickly turned his head!

On the central tower’s top, a vague silhouette was staring at him with frigid eyes!

In the moment of eye contact, Chu Xiu felt a chill crawl from his spine to his crown. They didn’t truly lock eyes — it was a sensation permeating the soul!

From the opposite gaze, he felt an overwhelming coldness, as if even his blood would freeze; he could perceivably feel the creature observing him was powerful! Much stronger than any entity he had ever encountered!

Suddenly, the feeling of being watched vanished, and the blurred silhouette on the tower top slowly turned and retreated into the tower.
