Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era

Chapter 105: Chapter 99: Brothers, Our Own People

”The armor is ready?” Chu Qin was a bit surprised.

”Yes, I’ve been working underground this whole time.”

Chu Qin hesitated for a moment: ”Why don’t you come back tomorrow morning? Shen Tuhu is in a bad mood now, he might give you a hard time.”

Chu Xiu glanced at the brightly lit office, several uneven breaths emanating from inside.

”No need, he cares about face. With so many people around, I’m not afraid he’ll back out.”

This left Chu Qin feeling quite helpless, thinking that her good friend truly had a personality that would rather make money than be cautious. Wasn’t he afraid Shen Tuhu would hold a grudge?

”Then... just be careful with your words.”

After a reminder, Chu Qin pushed the door open and walked in.

Inside the office, Shen Tuhu was listening with a sullen expression to a few analysts’ reports.

”Base No. 07 agreed to our request to dispatch personnel, but they set forth a few conditions. First, our personnel must follow their command. Second, we will act as a reserve team, able to enter the nest only when they deem the time appropriate...”

”Damn it, isn’t this just being a babysitter? No benefits for us, and we take the hit if something happens?” Shen Tuhu was furious, ”Tell them all to get lost! Let them know, if they don’t take my people, I’ll just take what I want! Don’t blame me for being overbearing then!”

”Now, go and find a way to get information about other base’s nest locations!”

The analysts exchanged nervous glances but dared not speak up.

Due to the new Corpse Demon swarm issues, all nearby bases are in a state of alarm, accelerating all action plans.

The location of the nests was initially highly confidential, how could they reveal their locations under such circumstances?

Just as the atmosphere became increasingly tense, Chu Xiu’s voice broke the dull ambiance: ”I’ve finished the armor, thirty units, totaling three hundred Cause and Effect Points.”

After a pause, Chu Xiu added, ”Thank you.”

Shen Tuhu was already angry. Upon hearing this, he shot him a sharp glare: ”Cause and Effect Points, my foot! Without a nest, what do I need armor for?”

Chu Xiu calmly replied, ”So you’re planning to back out?”

As soon as these words fell, the place went dead silent, the analysts looked at him with a mix of shock and admiration, while Chu Qin resignedly held her forehead.

Shen Tuhu laughed angrily: ”Good, good, you’ve got guts, kid.”

With that, he waved his hand and threw a bluish glowing object towards Chu Xiu: ”Take it and get out.”

Chu Xiu caught it, glanced at it, and left the office without another word.

Chu Qin chased after him but didn’t scold Chu Xiu, only reminding him: ”Shen Tuhu is in a fit of rage, you’ve ticked him off, be careful he might retaliate.”

Chu Xiu paused: ”Could he send someone to assassinate me?”

Chu Qin: ”?”

She seemed to be caught off guard by Chu Xiu’s statement, then after a while said, ”...That’s unlikely, why would you think that, have you been reading strange web novels?”

Chu Xiu showed disappointment, he had been somewhat expecting Shen Tuhu to use some extreme measures, so he could have a proper reason to rack up some Gold.

After a bit of thought, Chu Xiu took out some items from his Storage Pouch: ”By the way, these are for you.”

With a flick of his right hand, four items dropped out.

”What are these?” Chu Qin picked one up and examined the Attributes, her smile freezing on her face.

It turned out to be a piece of Warrior Tier Treasure-quality Equipment!

She looked at the other three, each one was actually Warrior Tier Treasure!

”Ah Chu, where did you get these things?” Chu Qin, too shocked, stumbled over her words.

Treasure-quality Equipment typically can only be dropped by an Elite! There are not many Warrior Tiers, let alone Warrior Tier Elites!

Chu Xiu, as a Mortal Tier Support Profession, where did he get so many good items?

”Just got lucky and encountered a hidden task,” Chu Xiu shrugged, ”I can’t equip these Warrior Tier Equipment, it’s a waste to carry them around, Sister Qin, you hold onto them first, pay me back when we’re back on Blue Star.”

”Hidden task?” Chu Qin had a look of skepticism, but besides that, there didn’t seem to be another explanation, she could only sigh, ”Ah Chu, you’re really lucky.”

With that, she was not pretentious and raised her hand to store away all four pieces of equipment.

In reality, these pieces of equipment were not of much use to Chu Xiu, he might as well take them back to sell, since Chu Qin would return them when back on Blue Star, it would be better to give her an edge for self-protection now.

Chu Xiu could shamelessly snag others’ resources, but Chu Qin was a good friend, so he had to offer some compensation.

These four pieces of Treasure Equipment would be much more beneficial to Chu Qin’s upcoming explorations than the minor benefits from raiding a nest.

Afterwards, he said no more and went to his room to rest his eyes.

He had a satisfying sleep, relieving the fatigue accumulated over a long period.

Early the next morning, with much of his condition restored, Chu Xiu stepped out of his room.

Outside, the Awakened were still in discussion, and after a whole night’s arguments, they had a preliminary result.

The Support Profession remained unchanged, continuing to provide logistical support within the base, whereas the Combat Profession took on some reconnaissance, exploration, and other non-combat tasks for other bases, and in return, those bases would share some resources.

Only advanced combat forces like Chu Qin would participate in the frontal assault on nests, but not as the main force. Instead, they would act as an emergency team; if any team was in danger, they would quickly provide support.

After giving Chu Xiu a few reminders and asking a few combat professions staying to protect the base to look after him, Chu Qin left alone.
