Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era

Chapter 120: Chapter 107: Silver Knight

Chu Xiu’s voice, altered, transmitted from beneath the mask.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, a frenzied voice from Shen Tuhu came through the walkie-talkie: ”I’m northwest of the central tower, about seven kilometers away! Do you see that fifty-story office building? I’m in the large shopping mall nearby!”

”Don’t come over, go find Ye Junlin and have him rescue me! Here...”

Before he could finish, there was a loud explosion, and the communication was cut off. After a long pause, Shen Tuhu’s heart-wrenching shout came through: ”Find Ye Junlin! Have him fly here to save me! I will pay you three billion!!!”

Listening to Shen Tuhu’s voice full of fear, Chu Xiu showed a thoughtful expression.

Their walkie-talkies had a decent power, capable of a communication range of over 10km, but in urban areas where buildings blocked signals, it was reduced to 3 to 5km. It was not surprising that Chu Xiu was the only one who heard Shen Tuhu’s SOS.

He found it strange, though, that this guy ventured so deep in there?

The semicircular central city area spans about 13km from the central tower to the city wall. Although Chu Xiu knew Shen Tuhu would go to the central city in advance, he thought he would only be at the perimeter fighting or gathering intelligence to sell to other forces.

Unexpectedly, this guy directly charged so deep into the area!

Also, what about all the Awakened who went with him? Could they all be dead?

Slightly pondering, Chu Xiu moved, heading towards the location Shen Tuhu described.

He scattered the ghosts for detection, trying to avoid other Corpse Demons along the way. The distance to Shen Tuhu was short, and before long, a large mall appeared in Chu Xiu’s view.

But before getting close, a violent explosion was heard!

A Silver Armored Knight over five meters tall rushed out, crashing directly into an office building!

It was clad entirely in Bright Silver Armor, except for a small gap on its face, revealing desiccated skin similar to a Corpse Demon. It seemed to be pursuing someone, smashing through entire walls and charging into the building, swinging a Giant Sword. Wherever it struck, even a meter-thick concrete wall shattered, and rebar was severed!

Amid the continuous loud noises, a lot of dust rose, and suddenly a blood-red color appeared within. When the Silver Armored Knight emerged, Chu Xiu saw an Awakened had been sliced in half, lying among the rubble.

Then, a grenade cannon fired, exploding near the Silver Armored Knight, causing it to pause slightly from the blast wave.

But as the dust settled, they found that the areas covered by Armor were nearly undamaged, only slightly dented. However, a few fragments had shot through the gaps in the helmet, leaving several blood marks on its face. Quickly, the nearby blood vessels extended and connected to its feet. As the blood flowed in, the injuries healed at a rate visible to the naked eye.

The next moment, the Silver Armored Knight emitted a low hum, as if an invisible wave radiated from its body, extending outward. This seemed to be some life detection technique, quickly locking onto a new target and heading towards another building!

This scene left Chu Xiu secretly alarmed!

This Silver Armored Knight was definitely of the Fierce Tier! Moreover, the sense of oppression it gave off was stronger than any Fierce Tier creature he had seen before, possibly even an Elite of the Fierce Tier!

What on earth did Shen Tuhu do to provoke such a terrifying being!

Furthermore, Chu Xiu noticed that the dead Awakened, both their bodies and the Equipment they dropped, were being absorbed by the blood vessels spreading throughout the city, being transported to the tower.

This made Chu Xiu anxious. Shen Tuhu, as a well-known wealthy second generation in Jiang City, surely had many good things on him. He couldn’t let them go to waste like this.

He gripped the walkie-talkie and asked again: ”Shen Tuhu, where are you?”

This time Shen Tuhu didn’t respond; instead, a female voice tinged with crying came through: ”I, I’m in the bathroom on the third floor of the mall. Can you come save me? I, I don’t dare to go out, everyone who goes out dies.”

Just then, Shen Tuhu’s cursing voice came through: ”Who the hell let you take my line? You want to die?”

He then urgently spoke to Chu Xiu: ”Did you notify Ye Junlin? So fast?”

Chu Xiu simply said calmly: ”Give me your precise location.”

Shen Tuhu hesitated for a moment: ”You don’t know the situation here. There’s an extremely terrifying being, only Ye Junlin can save me, anyone else would just die!”

Chu Xiu didn’t reply.

Seeing no response, Shen Tuhu panicked and reported: ”I’m on the fifth floor of the mall, in the bathroom too.”

After a pause, Shen Tuhu whispered: ”In the ladies’ room.”

Chu Xiu chuckled softly, said no more, lowered his posture, and while keeping an eye on the Silver Armored Knight’s movements, headed towards Shen Tuhu’s location.

To avoid the Silver Armored Knight, Chu Xiu deliberately took a large detour, but with his exceptional Speed, it wasn’t long before he entered the mall.

As soon as he entered, he was stunned. Bloodstains spattered everywhere, the bodies were nowhere to be seen, only thick blood vessels writhing as if nourished with abundance. Those vessels were tangled tightly, pulsating, enough to make anyone feel nauseous just by looking at them.

Chu Xiu kicked off with his right leg, jumping continuously several times to reach the fifth floor. The mall’s design featured a corridor separating the restrooms and the shop area, making the restroom the deepest hidden area.

As soon as Chu Xiu stepped in, he heard rapid breathing. He pulled open a door plank and saw Shen Tuhu standing warily in the farthest corner, wearing armor resembling that of an ancient Huaxia military general, holding a wide Horse-slaying Saber adorned with simple patterns.

With his broad and muscular build, he was quite imposing—if one ignored the slight trembling from fear on his face.

Seeing Chu Xiu, he was taken aback at first, then immediately questioned, ”Why are you here? Didn’t I tell you to find Ye Junlin? What are you doing here...”

But halfway through his words, he realized Chu Xiu was walking toward him silently, and then he reacted, ”Are you Extreme Dao?! Wait, are you insane! Fighting me here would attract that monster and it would be the end for us!”

However, just as he finished speaking, he suddenly felt dozens of withered hands gripping his legs tightly, and Chu Xiu kicked off from his back foot, launching himself at him like a swooping wild goose!

Shen Tuhu’s pupils contracted sharply, and in that instant, he understood something.

The opponent wasn’t trying to fight him but to kill him instantly!

Though Shen Tuhu believed that as a Warrior Tier, with two pieces of Perfect Quality Equipment, he couldn’t be killed so easily, at that moment, every cell in his body was on alert, feeling immense primal fear in the face of the onrushing dark shadow.

It felt as though, in front of that shadow, he was nothing more than an ant to be easily crushed.

In this life-or-death moment, Shen Tuhu’s mind was racing, and he screamed, ”Hidden mission! I’ve discovered a hidden mission! It involves a piece of Legendary Equipment!”

”Swish!”

Chu Xiu’s Bone Spear halted at the tip of his throat, its sharp point almost piercing Shen Tuhu’s skin.

”Gulp.” He swallowed heavily, the usual arrogant demeanor completely gone, replaced by a fawning smile: ”Don’t kill me, I’ll give you everything I have! I’ll even have my dad give you money! As much as you want! And I promise not to cause you trouble afterward!”

”Look, I haven’t even seen your face, have I?”

Perhaps it was because he rarely showed such an ingratiating expression in his everyday life, Shen Tuhu’s expression was extremely unnatural.

Moreover, Chu Xiu keenly caught a fleeting, almost imperceptible glint of ferocity in his eyes.

Ignoring Shen Tuhu’s pleas, Chu Xiu merely asked, ”Hidden mission?”

”Yes, yes, my subordinate stumbled upon a hidden mission and sold it to our family.”

”I’m here to complete that hidden mission.”

”As long as you safely escort me out, I’ll immediately tell you about the hidden mission! But if you insist on acting here, not only won’t you get the hidden mission, but I also have life-saving artifacts from my family, you’ve heard of my family, right? My dad is the chairman of Yongkang Pharmaceutical, my mom is...”

Chu Xiu ignored Shen Tuhu’s incessant chatter and instead analyzed the truth of his words.

He dismissed the promises of life-saving artifacts and future rewards as mere rubbish.

But considering his sudden exploration of the central city area with his base personnel and his deep venture, it was likely that he indeed had leads on a hidden mission.

That meant this guy used the lives of dozens of Awakened as a stepping stone to complete a hidden mission, only to encounter an insurmountable obstacle, leading to their near total demise here.

This seemingly fair hire, since it came with high compensation, naturally entailed certain risks.

But the key was, Shen Tuhu undoubtedly concealed the fact that he was exploring a hidden mission, as such missions were extremely perilous, and had he disclosed it earlier, surely no one would have been stupid enough to follow him.

The pools of blood outside, along with the dismembered Awakened that Chu Xiu encountered, must have been the cannon fodder left in the exploration process.

”His beastliness almost rivals mine,” Chu Xiu couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.

He looked up, ”Speak up, what kind of hidden mission is it?”

Shen Tuhu opened his mouth, just about to speak, when Chu Xiu suddenly squinted, his right hand shooting out, grabbing Shen Tuhu’s right shoulder, swiftly pulling him backward!

And almost the moment they moved, a giant silver white sword pierced through the wall, slashing where they originally stood!

In the next moment, a fist clad in silver heavy armor smashed the entire wall into pieces, and a towering silver white figure drilled its way through!
