Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1471: Section 1472: The Time of Metamorphosis Chapter 1471: Section 1472: The Time of Metamorphosis As for how to cure the illness, the first thing Angel thought of was to resolve the erosion of Extreme Resentment Thoughts by influencing Tobyʼs dreams.

And how to influence Tobyʼs dreams? The simplest method was to bring Toby into the Wilderness of Dreams.

In the Wilderness of Dreams, Toby should be able to avoid contact with Extreme Resentment Thoughts.

However, the premise of this method was that Extreme Resentment Thoughts could only influence Toby through ʼAngelʼ in the dreams. If ʼExtreme Resentment Thoughtsʼ had other ways, they would need a longer-term plan.

Angel planned to ask Frode after this feast ended. After all, when it came to interpreting dreams, Frode was a true expert. Known once as the ʼDream Reader,ʼ perhaps he could provide a better solution.

Although Toby was suspected of being induced by Extreme Resentment Thoughts, his condition was actually stabilizing. Thus, Angel decided to set Tobyʼs matter aside for now and come back to it after todayʼs feast.

While Greya was biting into some unnamed roast meat without a care for her ladylike appearance, she asked Angel, “Speaking of which, Iʼm really curious, how did you suddenly decide to learn the Dream Entering Technique? Are you planning some sort of combination with Dreams and Illusions? Or, donʼt tell me, you have bad intentions and plan to enter some young girlʼs dream?”

Angel ignored Greyaʼs teasing and replied seriously, “At first, I just wanted to enter the dream of a relative. He has been in a coma for a long time and cannot awaken. I wanted to meet him in his dreams…”

“You mean, your mentor?” Since Angel and Sanders became apprentice and master in Greyaʼs Barbie Restaurant, she was also aware of Jonʼs situation.

Angel nodded.

“Eh, he hasnʼt woken up yet?” Greya asked curiously, “With your current abilities, can you not save him?”

“He has a tricky illness, indeed difficult to treat,” Angel replied cautiously, not willing to divulge more.

Noticing Angelʼs evasion, Greya did not press further, “What then? You just said your initial study of the Dream Entering Technique was to enter your mentorʼs dream. What next?”

Then, naturally, due to the enhancement of the Power of Nightmare Illusion, the Wilderness of Dreams appeared. His practice of the Dream Entering Technique naturally became more serious.

However, these were not words Angel could speak aloud: “Later, I found the Dream Entering Technique to be quite interesting. The dream world always hides many marvelous things, many aspects of reality that we donʼt pay attention to but truly influence you. In dreams, they present in very interesting forms.”

“Moreover, every image has different interpretative meanings. Many problems from a perspective presented in dreams often cannot be thought of in reality, which can give me a lot of inspiration.”

Greya raised an eyebrow: “What you say is true; there are many marvelous images in dreams that can be inspirational. But itʼs not just dreams that can inspire. Just like you study Illusion Technique, and I study gastronomy, those can also bring inspiration. I feel that your argument doesnʼt sound like something a Witcher from the Illusion Series would say, but rather like the words of a Dream Sorcerer.”

Angel smiled. The words he spoke were indeed not his own, but those once said by Frode when interpreting dreams.

Whenever dreams were mentioned, Frode always seemed radiant, and the content of his lectures was indeed compelling, so much so that one couldnʼt help but indulge in the beauty of dreams. Angel simply adopted them for his own use.

“You havenʼt spoken your true thoughts,” Greya said, squinting her eyes at Angel.

Angel, however, just smiled without a word.

“It seems that there truly is a deeper secret to your study of entering dreams,” Greya muttered softly, “Donʼt tell me I guessed right, you really did stir up some young girlʼs sweet dreams?”

Angel couldnʼt be bothered to answer, but he didnʼt need to reply anyway because, after resting for most of the hour, Isabel finally left the Corpse Forest and appeared on the platform.

The appearance of Isabel also signified that the Pure World Feast was about to begin.

However, Angel noticed that the person accompanying Isabel was Moria and did not see Isabella.

Since Moria was saved by Angel, she always had a favorable impression of him, so when she noticed Angel looking over, she nodded to him in greeting.

Angel responded with a smile, but inwardly he mused: It seems that Isabel is indeed angry about Isabellaʼs previous betrayal of Moria. I wonder, what is Isabellaʼs current situation?

Isabel nodded to Kimberly, who cheerfully walked to the forefront of the crowd, addressed all the Witches of Black Castle with an impassioned speech. She reiterated, “The undead will be eradicated, the Blood Soak plan canceled, the dark past shall pass, and a new chapter for Black Castle will begin.”

Kimberlyʼs speech touched only on the eradication of the undead and the attitudinal change in Black Castle, resonating with the audience.

On the Blood Soak plan, however, there were quite a few Witches with different opinions. Although they might not agree with all of Isabellaʼs views, they were not opposed to her proposed “Blood Soak plan,” as they themselves were also beneficiaries.

Bathing in the blood of young girls, through secret techniques, youth could be preserved eternally–at least, this was considered the least costly method of maintaining oneʼs youth. For this group of witches, it was actually something they agreed upon.

Moreover, the Blood Bath Plan wasnʼt solely advocated by Isabella. Three thousand years ago, a legendary witch from Black Castle, the ʼBloody Queenʼ Mary, had always bathed in the blood of young girls to maintain her youth.

Exactly because there was this precedent, there was still a faction within Black Castle that supported the Blood Bath Plan.

However, Isabel clearly did not wish for Black Castle to remain mired in the siege of the undead. She hoped for transformation, and the group of wizards opposing her eventually succumbed. But this was only a surrender on the surface; whether they would continue in secret was another matter.

Any witcher organization has its bright and shining facade as well as its dark and filthy underbelly.

After delivering her speech, Kimberly approached Greya and Felicia.

“The feast may now begin.”

Greya gave a noncommittal nod and stood up with Felicia. When they reached the front of the stage, Greya suddenly asked, “Why havenʼt I seen Isabella?”

As soon as Greya spoke, the expressions of the wizards present turned curious.

Kimberly, unfazed, said, “Isabella is preoccupied with some matters and has not attended today.”

No sooner had Kimberly finished than Isabel said, “Since Sanders and Angel are here, and since Black Castle is to establish friendship with Illusion Demon Island in the future, there is no need to hide these things. Even if we donʼt speak of them, they will eventually come out.”

After speaking, Isabelʼs gaze drifted towards Angel. This is because Isabel had previously mentioned something about Moriya to Angel, and he had also witnessed Moriyaʼs conflict with Isabella in the Garden of Living Souls. Anybody with a bit of sense could guess more or less what was going on.

Since Angel already knew, there was no need to keep hiding it.

Once Kimberly caught Isabelʼs hint, she said with an unchanged expression, “Isabella made some mistakes, and she sustained serious injuries to avoid the self-destruction of the undead in the Corpse Forest, so she has been confined to recover. She is not expected to make an appearance for some time.”

When Kimberly mentioned Isabellaʼs “mistake,” a hint of disgust flashed in her eyes. She herself had never liked Isabella, and upon learning that Moriya had been reduced to an undead creature due to Isabellaʼs actions, her disdain for Isabella only grew. Isabellaʼs punishment was, in Kimberlyʼs view, well-deserved.

Greya, however, was unaware of Moriyaʼs situation; she simply thought that Isabella was being reprimanded by Isabel because her plan had caused an overflow of undead over the past millennium.

Since Isabella was not coming, Greya said no more, exchanged a look with Felicia, and they walked to the edge of the platform.

Felicia gently raised her hand, her black skirt fluttering in the high winds, as two purple butterflies circled her fingertips. Carried by the wind, the butterflies lightly soared into the sky.

The two butterflies split into four, and the four turned into eight…

In an instant, countless butterflies appeared in the sky, and among them was a dish cover with an ornate pattern, covering a porcelain white plate, held aloft in the air.

Even though the lid of the plate remained on, all eyes there were fixed on it.

Everyone was aware that the main attraction of this occasion–the Pure World Feast–lay beneath that cover.

While the butterflies danced in the sky, Greya and Felicia were not idle. They both constructed the secret techniques of the culinary series.

Indeed, the feast was already prepared, but to activate a feast with such an enormous amount of energy required the cooperation of the two. After all, the guests of this feast were not sentient beings but the earth itself.

To feed the feast to the earth, it was not a matter of simply shoving it into the ground.

Even when you take a potion, you need to adjust your condition, making yourself suitable for drinking it. Moreover, their beneficiary was the earth. To prepare the earth for the upcoming changes in the atmosphere, there was no shortage of preparatory work to be done.

To others, it only looked as if various forms of energy were bursting from Greya and Felicia, all of which entered the plate; it acted like a transfer station, adapting the absorbed energy to its rhythm before descending into the earth and vanishing from sight.

As more and more energy scattered, nothing seemed to change to the naked eye around them, but if one looked at the energy level, with their location as the Origin Point, more and more areas around them were enveloped in a thin layer of energy. This energy had a distinct “bright purification” quality, seemingly wrapping a layer of light mist around Black Castleʼs territory.

Moreover, this “light mist” continued to spread.

Although the specifics were unknown to the crowd, they could basically infer that when the light mist completely enveloped Black Castleʼs territory, it would be the moment of transformation!
