Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 1987  Li Chi (2)

Walking alongside Li Chi, who it was clear had no idea about his identity, Xuan Hao decided to obscure his own figure to ensure that no elder or disciple recognized him while walking through the sect. Making him appear as non-recognizable person who blended in with the crowd. Not because he specifically wanted to hide his identity from Li Chi, but more so because he understood full well what kind of attention he would end up attracting if it became known that he was currently walking around in the sect.

The younger disciples of the sect wouldnʼt be that much of a problem, as they understood how to admire from afar, but the elders of the sect. Especially those who had found themselves stuck at a bottleneck would undoubtedly start bumping into him by ”accident” and try to take advantage of the position to ask for some help in their cultivation.

Shameless as this was, those elders wouldnʼt mind embarrassing themselves for a bit in front of the younger generation if it meant they could overcome a bottleneck that had kept them stuck in the same realm for years without any meaningful progress.

As for the reason why, these elders believed he would even help them in the first place… That had to do with the simple fact that he hadnʼt ever refused anyone that he happened to encounter that asked him for help. After all, to him, it would only take a few minutes to pinpoint the problem these elders faced and figure out a general path for them to follow.

In a way, this had ended up resulting in no small number of elders eagerly keeping trying to find a way to run into him. A reality that made him shake his head in disappointment. If those elders spent even half the time, they did wandering around the sect trying to bump into him, they would most likely already have broken through the bottleneck that they had found themselves stuck at.

”Senior? Is something wrong?” Having always kept an eye at him from the side as they made their way towards the central teleportation formation linking the Shattered Star Peaks to the rest of the Star Shattering Sectʼs teleportation network, Li Chi could not help asking after he suddenly saw how he shook his head in disappointment out of seemingly nowhere. Part of him thinking that he might have done something wrong to disappoint the senior.

”Itʼs nothing, I was just thinking about a few annoying elders that we might run into.”

”Annoying elders…?”

”Ah, donʼt worry about it, Iʼm a bit stronger than other elders, so a few tend to seek me out for help in their cultivation from time to time. Iʼm more than happy to help, but it does get a bit annoying when one is busy with something else. Hm… Let me think, there was this one time…” Chuckling softly as he saw the obvious interest in the eyes of the little half spirit that only barely reached his waist, Xuan Hao decided to share a few of his more interesting encounters with elders seeking guidance from him over the years.

From an elder who had ended up accidentally dropping off his flying sword into his Bai Ningʼs furnace while the two of them were discussing the Dao of Blacksmithing to one that had ended up wandering into the wrong training space when he was sparring with Chu Yang. The latter ending up in a far worse state than the first, as Chu Yang had been rather angry at being interrupted during a sparring session. Turning the sly elder wanting to seek guidance into a training dummy while the person he had come seeking guidance from quietly slipped away.

Speaking of which, the elder turned training dummy did somehow manage to break through the bottleneck that had been troubling after being beaten up for three days straight. So, he did end up getting what he wanted in the end, just not how he had imagined it.

While he was sharing these stories with Li Chi, Xuan Hao also took the opportunity to examine this small, half spirit through the system.

✧Li Chi✧ Race: Half Spirit Talent: 12

Comprehension: 47 Realm: Fifth Stage of the Core Formation Realm

Although nowhere near his other disciples in either talent or comprehension, Li Chi had a higher-than-average comprehension. Making him a genius in that aspect if he could overcome his relatively low talent rating.

Even if the little one was far from what he considered fitting for a disciple of his, he felt that the little oneʼs personality was to his liking and even if he didnʼt end up progressing anywhere near as fast as his other disciples had, it wouldnʼt be so bad to take in someone a bit different.

The main thing he worried about in doing so was that Li Chi might end up comparing himself to his other disciples and end up doing something reckless to catch up with them in the future.

Before he could get a proper grasp of his personality and how he might end up behaving after becoming his disciple, he didnʼt plan on disclosing his thoughts to the person in question.

Hopefully, he would be one who had the same outlook on life as Mui. After all, as chaotic as she might be, Mui didnʼt care the slightest bit about how high her cultivation was in comparison to Chu Yang, Qin Yi, Chun Hua or Bai Ning. Only focused on whatever she found interesting, which most often ended up being her creating something outrageous.

On second thought. Maybe a better example would be someone like Bai Ning who was by far his weakest disciple but didnʼt care the slightest bit about his lack of strength as long as he could continue deepening his understanding of the Dao of Blacksmithing by crafting in his forge.

Like this, as Xuan Hao began seriously considering Li Chi as a potential sixth disciple while he continued talking about his interesting encounters with elders throughout the years while Li Chi eagerly listened on the side, the two of them reached the teleportation formation after a little over an hour of walking.
