Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 1617 Breakthrough, Dao of Yin, Large Success Realm (2)

Ignoring the slight movement from the surprised demonic cultivator above, Xuan Hao changed his focus from the Dao of Ice to the Dao of Yin.

Now that his condition had significantly worsened following the consecutive breakthrough of his Dao of Ice and Dao of Yin, he could only hope that he would be able to make full use of the special environment that he now found himself in, to breakthrough to the Large Success Realm of the Dao of Yin in less than half a year.

However, as a few days flew by, it became abundantly clear that this was nothing short of impossible.

The Dao of Yin was far from simple to comprehend, and its difficulty was comparable to that of the Dao of Space. Reaching the Large Success Realm in that kind of Dao was not something simple that could be accomplished in the short term.

Even with the help brought by his current location, it wasnʼt enough to help him breakthrough to the Large Success Realm in such a short period of time.

The only way that he could realistically accomplish something like that, and reach the Large Success Realm in the Dao of Yin, was for him to either find a special opportunity that would rapidly increase his understanding of the Dao of Yin or dive deeper into the icy waters.

The first depended entirely on luck, while the second carried a significant risk.

Although his resistance to the icy waters had increased tremendously after his breakthrough to the Perfection Realm in the Dao of Ice and the Small Success Realm in the Dao of Yin, it had only allowed him to move a few meters further down. Reaching a depth of 60 meters before he had forced to stop descending any further by the terrifying power contained inside the icy waters.

In theory, he could continue going deeper, but doing so would come with significant risks, as even a slight disturbance could trigger a disturbance that could agitate the terrifying power contained inside the icy waters. Killing him on the spot.

After all, the moment he crossed the 50-meter mark, he had already entered a territory beyond that of the Early Stage of the Celestial Immortal or Demon King Realm. Even a slight leak of power at this depth already had more than enough power to instantly annihilate someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm below that depth. The sole reason he had even dared to go this deep in the first place was because he could use the Dao of Ice and the Dao of Yin to reduce the power of the icy waters and ensure his own safety to some extent.

Of course, there were limits to everything and that limit was the 60-meter mark. Going any deeper and he would truly start risking his life.

But… At this point, he couldnʼt really think of any other way for him to reach the requirements for breaking through to the Peak of the Dao Domain Lord Realm in time.

There was always the source crystal he had obtained from the system but using that would come with its own risks that were not any less dangerous than attempting to dive deeper into the icy waters.

For this reason, Xuan Hao ultimately decided to risk it and slowly descend further into the icy waters.

The cold was no longer just a sensation, it was a living, breathing entity that clawed at his very soul. Every meter he descended, the water grew thicker, heavier, as if the liquid itself was becoming a solid force resisting his descend at every turn.

However, along with his descend, he could also feel the presence of the Dao of Yin becoming increasingly clear as it intertwined with the Dao of Ice, creating a strange symphony that seemed to seep into every cell in his body.

The icy power wasnʼt just affecting his body; it was seeping into his bones, his marrow, his dantian and even his soul.

Yet, with each torturous meter he descended, the Dao of Yin became clearer, its essence sharper, more defined.

After descending to a depth of 75 meters over a period of two weeks, he finally reached his limit, as descending even a single meter further down would overwhelm him and turn him into a human popsicle on the spot.

I really wonder how deep this lake is…

Opening his eyes for the first time since he began his descend, Xuan Hao could not help showing a somewhat complicated expression on his face as he looked down in the seemingly endless abyss below.

Even after descending so far, he still couldnʼt see the true bottom of the lake.

All he could see were the icy currents that swirled around him, like ethereal serpents dancing in the dim glow that filtered down from above. Each of them carrying a power that was more than powerful enough to extinguish his life in an instant.

Shaking his head as he thought about just how dangerous his current situation was, Xuan Hao soon closed his eyes again, as he focused his full attention on comprehending the Dao of Yin. Almost instantly feeling the difference compared to before, as his comprehension speed of the Dao of Yin seemed to undergo some kind of special change in the environment. Allowing him to smoothly progress at a speed that could only be described as unnatural.

Slowly, days turned into weeks and weeks into months as he remained quietly floating in the frigid embrace of the icy waters, the cold slowly but steadily seeping into his bones before starting to encroach on his dantian.

The Dao of Yin was all around him, a silent, pervasive force that mingled with the familiar chill of the Dao of Ice.

He could feel it in the darkness of the depths, a quiet, still presence that seemed to pull at his very essence.

As he focused, the waterʼs pressure and the cold began to take on a new dimension, a harmony of opposites.

The Dao of Yinʼs passivity blending with the Dao of Iceʼs sharp clarity.

Xuan Haoʼs breath slowed, his mind reaching out to grasp this new understanding.

The Dao of Yin wasnʼt just cold like the Dao of Ice; it was the absence of warmth.

As he grasped this, the waterʼs chill intensified, yet he felt no discomfort. His thoughts slowed, each one crystallizing like ice forming in the darkness. In this moment, his comprehension of the Dao of Yin seemed to breakthrough a bottleneck. Propelling his understanding to an entirely new realm.

In just a few short seconds, he managed to breakthrough from the Peak of the Small Success Realm to the Large Success Realm in the Dao of Yin. Taking full advantage of the brief moment of enlightenment.

Finally… I reached the requirements for breaking through to the Peak of the Dao Domain Lord Realm…

Opening both of his eyes for the first time in months, Xuan Hao smiled happily as a sense of unparalleled joy could be seen in his eyes.

Not just because he had finally reached the point where he could break through to the Peak of the Dao Domain Lord Realm, but also because he would finally be able to ascend from the Dao Domain Lord Realm and officially step into Profound Immortal Realm.

No matter how revered the status of someone in the Dao Domain Lord Realm was according to the ancient texts and other records he had read about the realm, it was ultimately still in the Domain Lord Realm and hadnʼt truly ascended the mortal realm and taken the first step towards the immortal realm by undergoing the Immortal Soul Tribulation.

Of course, outside of that, Xuan Hao felt a bit tired of still being in the Dao Domain Lord Realm for such a long period of time without any real change to his cultivation realm outside of the ”Dao” in front of the title of his cultivation realm.

Though, the main reason was that he would have to be careful in revealing his cultivation realm, as he had no idea how the different major powers on the continent would react to seeing someone in the Dao Domain Lord Realm. Especially when that person had the strength to contend with someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm.

If his true cultivation realm had leaked after his battle with the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator from the Blue Sea Empire, it wouldnʼt be that surprising if every major power in the Northern Core Region teamed up to take him down before he had a chance to break through to the Profound Immortal Realm.

After all, his strength after breaking through could easily be imagined and would undoubtedly disrupt the current status quo far more than even the current war with the demonic cultivators had done so far.

Luckily, he had managed to hide his cultivation base and now only needed to find somewhere quiet to breakthrough to the Peak of the Dao Domain Lord Realm before undergoing the Immortal Soul Tribulation and reaching the Profound Immortal Realm…
