Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 1616 Breakthrough (1)

Not knowing how to react as he was once again forced to ascend, Xuan Hao silently narrowed both of his eyes to look up at the new demonic cultivator who had ended up in the icy waters and was currently flailing around in a panic.

Different from the first demonic cultivator to enter the icy waters after him, this demonic cultivator didnʼt seem to realize the opportunity hidden in the icy waters and was just flailing around trying to escape from the waters.

The reason for this was not only that the other party was in an injured state and only registered that the icy waters were dangerous, but also because the other party had only reached the later stages of the Higher Demon Realm.

In other words, the demonic cultivatorʼs strength was only comparable to the Core Formation Realm. Placing them among the lowest levels among demonic cultivators, something that in turn also made it difficult for them to even sense the rich yin qi present in the icy waters.

Although… Even if the other party could sense the rich yin qi, with their strength, they would at most be able to descend a few meters below the surface before being forced to a stop by the terrifying icy waters.

Not to mention, a demonic cultivator in the Higher Demon Realm was still a mortal to some extent, as they couldnʼt stay under water indefinitely like he and the demonic cultivator in the Demon Lord Realm was able to do.

Meaning that even if the other party realized the advantage of cultivating in the icy waters and decided to take advantage of it to further their strength, they would at most be able to stay in the icy waters for a few hours a day.

And even that would come with certain risks, as the icy waters were far more deadly to someone with such a low cultivation base, as even a slight change in the icy waters might doom them.

For this reason, both Xuan Hao and the Demon Lord Realm demonic cultivator didnʼt want such a weak demonic cultivator around. For the simple reason that the constant movement would disturb the delicate balance of the icy waters and potentially even harm them, something that had been demonstrated from the second that weaker demonic cultivator ended up in the icy waters.

Whoosh~!

Because of this, the demonic cultivator wasted no time. Ascending through the icy waters quietly while trying not to disturb the delicate balance as much as possible.

”Huh? What is-”

Thud!

Before the Higher Demon Realm demonic cultivator even had the chance to react to the demonic cultivator ascending from below, she was dragged out of the waters and killed.

Not just that, but from how long the Demon Lord Realm demonic cultivator was taking and the few sounds he could hear from above, Xuan Hao guessed that there wasnʼt just one demonic cultivator to deal with, but multiple demonic cultivators that the one in the water should have been fighting or escaping from before ending up in the icy waters.

Of course, with the strength of the Demon Lord Realm demonic cultivator, the other demonic cultivators who were most likely not that much stronger than the one that had ended up falling into the icy waters didnʼt stand much of a chance, as the other party soon returned to the icy waters to continue absorbing the rich icy qi present.

The main difference from the first time he entered, was that he clearly set up some kind of safety measure to ensure that others wouldnʼt just stumble into the icy waters by accident again.

When he first entered the icy waters himself, Xuan Hao had thought about doing something like this, but ultimately decided against it, as laying down a formation that was clearly not demonic in nature would undoubtedly end up drawing attention if a particularly powerful demonic cultivator happened to pass through, something that wasnʼt rare considering how close his current location was to the core of the Frozen Wastelands.

The concealment formation laid down by the Demon Lord Realm demonic cultivator on the other hand was a demonic formation and wouldnʼt attract the attention of those more powerful demonic cultivators, as they would at most think that it was another demonic cultivator cultivating in seclusion and not bother to investigate further.

Potentially because of this, for the next half year, Xuan Hao and the demonic cultivator didnʼt experience any more interruptions, as both of them cultivated without causing any problems for the other. Not that the demonic cultivator could cause any problems for someone he didnʼt even know was there in the first place…

In the end, it was in this kind of quiet environment that Xuan Hao finally managed to break through the final bottleneck that had kept him stuck at the Peak of the Large Success Realm in the Dao of Ice. Officially stepping into the Perfection Realm in the Dao of Ice. Completing what could be considered the most difficult part of reaching the Peak of the Dao Domain Lord Realm over the five- or little over three years he had left to do so.

However, in the process of his breakthrough to the Perfection Realm in the Dao of Ice, his comprehension of the Dao of Yin also experienced a significant breakthrough, as he broke through from the Elementary Realm to the Small Success Realm.

In turn, because of this, the total number of layers around his dao seed reached 36, the number that was required for the state of Radiant Bloom that he in the past had learnt was where the dao seed would bloom on its own.

Rumble~

Because of this, the suppression of his dao seed became almost impossible, as Xuan Hao clearly felt the dao seed inside his dantian undergoing some kind of special transformation that seemed to increase the resistance from his dao seed.

Not to mention having a little over three years left to reach the Large Success Realm in one of the three Daos he had comprehended to the Small Success Realm and then breakthrough to the Peak of the Dao Domain Lord Realm, he now calculated that he would at most have half a year to accomplish this task… And that was him being optimistic, as the dao seed inside of his dantian seemed to actively be fighting against him.

If suppressed for too long, not to mention him being forced to breakthrough, it was more likely that the dao seed would directly tear apart his dantian. Essentially crippling his cultivation in the process.

Even worse, it would still bloom in the process and trigger the Immortal Soul Tribulation, something he simply wouldnʼt be able to fight back against if his dantian was destroyed. Not even counting the violent energy that would rampage through his body after the dao seed bloomed and the qi created for it had nowhere to go.

Blowing up on the spot would be a good outcome, while a worse outcome would be surviving the initial rampage of qi and getting struck down by the Immortal Soul Tribulation…

Feeling a shiver run down his spine as he realized just how dangerous his current situation was, Xuan Hao didnʼt waste any time as he focused his attention on comprehending the Dao of Yin without a second thought.

Although he could comprehend the Dao of Fire and the Dao of Light to the Small Success Realm as well, he didnʼt have a suitable location for comprehending the two Daos in mind.

Staying in his current location that was also extremely suitable for comprehending the Dao of Yin seemed like the best option in his eyes.

Not to mention, now that his comprehension of the Dao of Ice had reached the Perfection Realm, his comprehension of the Dao of Yin also became far smoother.

”What was that just now…? Is there perhaps something happening deeper down? Maybe... A treasure in the process of emerging...?”

At the same time Xuan Hao broke through to the Perfection Realm in the Dao of Ice and the Small Success Realm in the Dao of Yin, the demonic cultivator above him opened both of his eyes as he looked down below with a shocked expression on his face.

Because the commotion caused by Xuan Haoʼs breakthrough carried the presence of both the Dao of Ice and the Dao of Yin, the demonic cultivator didnʼt realize the commotion had been caused by someone else and instead believed that it had been caused by some change in the icy waters.

The most likely conclusion in his eyes being that some kind of special treasure had come into existence below him.

Unfortunately, even if he wanted to investigate the situation close and potentially even get his hands on the ”treasure”, he had no way to go any deeper with his current strength and could only helplessly wonder what kind of ”treasure” had been born in the depths below him. Only hoping he would one day be strong enough to go down and find this ”treasure”.
