Chapter 627 Kidnapping the Blue Deer~

As half a day passed by with Xuan Hao and the unknown existence on top of the ancient temple without any of them making a move to attack each other after the earlier clash, the blue deer slowly woke up-

Cooo~

Making a cute sounding sound as it stretched its still tired body before standing up to take in its surroundings.

Coo? Coo!

Making the same sound as it looked around itself and saw Xuan Hao, the blue deer jumped up excitedly before running in a small circle around him. Happy to see that Xuan Hao was doing fine after having inhaled the golden mist it had created before it ended up fainting.

”Looks like you are finally awake… Itʼs great nothing bad happened.” Seeing that the blue deer had recovered and was even jumping around him happily, Xuan Hao felt relieved that there was nothing wrong with the blue deer before looking back toward the top of the ancient temple.

After the blue deer had recovered and started moving around, Xuan Hao could clearly feel the unknown existence at the top of the ancient temple had started to grow restless to the point that it wouldnʼt be surprised if the other party suddenly decided to attack!

”We should get out of here before the one up there decides to attack…” Muttering this to himself, Xuan Hao glanced towards the blue deer happily jumping around him-

Whoosh~

Coo?!

Before grabbing hold of it and rushing back in the direction both of them had come from.

BOOOOM-!

This decision proved to be crucial, as a far more powerful attack from the unknown existence on top of the ancient temple landed at the place Xuan Hao and the blue deer had been located.

”…”

Looking back as he moved further and further away from the ancient temple together with the blue deer, Xuan Hao could not help feeling a shiver run down his spine as he watched how the area where the attack from the unknown existence on top of the ancient temple had landed.

Even if he did not receive the attack himself, Xuan Hao could clearly tell just how strong the attack just now was.

If he had stayed behind to resist such a powerful attack, he would have been forced to use all his strength and would not have been able to protect the blue deer! Not to mention, the unknown existence on top of the ancient temple had likely not shown its full strength…!

Thinking about this, Xuan Hao decided not to pursue his new main quest for now, as it was simply far too dangerous with his current strength. At least, with the blue deer around, it was impossible for him to properly investigate the ancient temple without constantly having to fear that the unknown existence would launch an attack to kill it…

Whoosh-!

Speeding up even more than before as this thought occurred to him, Xuan Hao sped across the different environments he had passed through before while following the blue deer to the ancient temple.

The difference this time around, he was far faster compared to back then, as he crossed the distance, he and the blue deer had taken hours to travel in a few minutes.

The speed of a Domain Lord Realm Expert was far above that of the little blue deer that had only reached the Core Formation Realm. Even if the blue deer was faster than a normal Core Formation Realm demon beast…

Thump~!

Landing on the ground close to the massive rock filled with the blue divine energy, Xuan Hao didnʼt dare let his guard down.

Whoosh-!

Fully utilizing both his domain and divine sense to observe his surroundings for any signs of the unknown existence on top of the ancient temple following them.

Only after a few minutes passed without anything happening did he start to relax knowing that the other party had not followed him and the blue deer.

But… Why didnʼt that person follow? He clearly didnʼt want the blue deer to leave the place alive…

Thinking this to himself as he remembered the last attack of the unknown existence on top of the ancient temple, Xuan Hao could not help feeling that something was wrong.

After all, with the strength displayed by the other party there was no reason to hide away at the top of the ancient temple.

On the other hand, given that he would be focused on defending the blue deer while escaping earlier, it would have been the perfect opportunity to launch an attack, yet… The other party remained on top of the ancient temple and just allowed him to leave without giving chase…

No matter how much Xuan Hao thought about this, he could not help feeling that it was weird for the other party to stay on top of the ancient temple in such a situation. Maybe when his mind had momentarily been affected back then, it was not just to get him to enter some sort of ancient killing formation… But was instead to get him to the top of the ancient temple!

If that is really the case… Perhaps the person on top of the ancient temple didnʼt decide not to chase us because of caution, but instead because it was impossible to do so!

As this thought dawned upon him, Xuan Hao felt that it made sense given what he had gone through over the last half day.

The only thing that was still unanswered, was how the father of the blue deer had ended up dying. After all, the location of the blue deerʼs father when he had died, was extremely far away from the ancient temple… There would have been no way for the unknown existence to kill the blue deerʼs father over such a distance!

Xuan Hao understood this full well, as not only would the strength of the attack weaken the longer it travelled, but the father of the blue deer was also a Peak Nascent Soul Realm demon beast. Killing such a strong demon beast over such a large distance would be impossible for someone in the Domain Lord Realm!

Coo~!

As Xuan Hao was lost in his own thoughts, the blue deer let out a reluctant noise as it looked towards Xuan Hao with confusion. Wanting to know why he had suddenly picked it up before flying back to the place they had met around a day ago.

From start to finish, the blue deer had no idea about the existence on top of the ancient temple nor the danger that it had been in just a few minutes earlier.

”Hah…” Seeing the wronged expression on the face of the blue deer, Xuan Hao could not help sighing to himself.

”Little one, we were in quite a dangerous situation earlier… If we didnʼt leave, it would have ended up- You donʼt understand what Iʼm saying…” Trying to explain what had happened to the wronged little blue deer, Xuan Hao could not help frowning upon realizing that the little blue deer for some reason looked like it didnʼt understand what he was saying.

Before this, it had always showed an expression of understanding and seemed to understand what he said to it… But now, it looked like it didnʼt understand a single word he said!

Perhaps it was too complicated for it to understand…?

Shaking his head at this thought, Xuan Hao decided not to think about it any longer-

Swish~

Coo!?

Grabbing the confused blue deer once again, Xuan Hao flew into the air before leaving the Main Star Peak together with the blue deer.

With the unknown existence on top of the ancient temple targeting the blue deer for some reason, it was no longer safe for it to stay on the Main Star Peak. Especially so considering that both of its parents had already been killed.

For this reason, Xuan Hao had decided to take the blue deer with him instead of leaving it on the Main Star Peak to fend for itself and hope that it didnʼt end up dead like its parents upon his next visit.

Leaving the blue deer at the Seventh Star Peak would also allow him to try and explore the area around the ancient temple without having to worry about something happening to the blue deer if a fight ended up happening between himself and the unknown existence on top of the ancient temple.

Not to mention… Xuan Hao was rather interested in finding out if the existence on top of the ancient temple could leave or not.

If the existence on top of the ancient temple really couldnʼt leave like he had thought, he would have free rein to continue exploring the Main Star Peak and try to complete the main quest without any worry.

Hopefully, this would also mean that he would be able to complete his main quest faster and get the mysterious reward!

Who knew, maybe the reward from the main quest would be something far more valuable than a simple increase in cultivation…
