Chapter 535: Bandit Betrayal!

”Hm?”

Sitting on top of the luxurious carriage while looking at the scenery passing by Chu Yang suddenly noticed something moving in the distance, as a large group of not so friendly looking people soon came into view.

Even more troubling, was the fact that he could very clearly feel two powerful people among the group that was rushing towards them, both having reached the Core Formation Realm!

”Bandits!”

Hearing one of the Foundation Establishment Realm guard situated at the front of the caravan call out, Chu Yang could not help cursing to himself. Normally, a group of bandits with two Core Formation Realm Experts should not have been a problem… But… Things were different after all Core Formation Experts guarding the caravan except for himself ran away to join the fight for the massive spirit stone.

At this moment, there was only two Core Formation Realm Experts defending the caravan, him, and the servant inside the luxurious carriage below him.

Even if they could deal with the two Core Formation Realm bandits charging over, Chu Yang was not so certain that they would also be able to stop the rest of the bandits from massacring the rest of the guards.𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

The main reason for this, was that the bandits charging over were far stronger than the weak Foundation Establishment and Qi Condensation Realm Experts who had chosen to remain in the caravan…

Creak~

Having sensed a large group of people approaching them, the servant appeared from inside the luxurious carriage with a confused expression on his face.

”What is happening? Who is-” Freezing up the moment he came out from the carriage and saw the large number of bandits rushing towards the caravan, the servant soon realized that the other side rushing towards them did not have any kind intentions….

”So… How should we deal with the bandits?” Seeing the servant come out, Chu Yang quickly asked this. Feeling that he should at least have some idea what to do.

”Hm? Just hold back the weaker among the two Core Formation Realm bandits and wait for me to kill the stronger one. The guards left will all surround the carriage of my young master and protect it from the other bandits. Even if they are weaker, they should at least be able to hold off until we finish off the two Core Formation Realm bandits!” Not feeling too worried about the current situation after having scanned over the approaching group of bandits, the servant informed him while also making sure the guards left in the caravan heard what he said.

Whoosh~!

Not even a second later, the servant narrowed his eyes before dashing towards the aggrieves group of bandits heading in their direction. Not the slightest bit of fear visible on his face.

”Looks like the strongest among the bandits have not reached the Peak of the Core Formation Realm…” Muttering this to himself as he quickly realized why the servant was so confident in dealing with the bandits charging towards them, Chu Yang gazed towards the guards shivering at the sight of the ferocious bandits heading in their direction.

From the looks of it, there was no way those guards would stay and hold the line against the bandits… There was a way bigger chance that they would run away before the bandits even reached them…

Given that even he understood this from a single glance, Chu Yang doubted that the servant didnʼt see this as well.

Perhaps there is still someone else left inside the carriage to protect his young master or perhaps he wants me to protect it while also fending off against the weaker Core Formation Realm Expert…?

Boom-boom-boom!

Not understanding what the servant was thinking leaving his young master behind, Chu Yang remained still on top of the luxurious carriage, as the servant clashed with the leader of the bandits in the distance.

Luckily, he could clearly tell that the servant was far stronger than his opponent after the first clash!

Rumble~

On the unfortunate side of things, the group of bandits only stopped for a short moment before continuing towards them. Leaving their leader to fight with the servant all by himself. Even the second Core Formation Realm Expert among the bandits did not lend his leader any assistance and also continued towards the caravan…

Did the servant perhaps already expect the second weaker Core Formation Realm Expert to disregard his leader and continue his charge towards the caravan? Indeed, this way, it would make it easier for me to also try and defend the luxurious carriage at the same time…

Thinking this to himself, Chu Yang could not help feeling a slight admiration towards the servant at the Peak of the Core Formation Realm. Even from such a long distance, he had easily seen through the bandits and the fact that the two Core Formation Realm Experts were not on great terms with each other!

…

”YOU DAMNABLE BASTARD!”

At the same time Chu Yang was admiring the servant for his insight into the discourse between the two Core Formation Realm Experts, the leader of the bandits screamed angrily, as the one known as Master Pu had completely disregarded his call for help and had instead continued charging towards the caravan with a lustful expression on his face. Focusing all his attention on the luxurious carriage at the centre of the caravan.

”…”

Locked in battle with the leader of the bandits who had reached the Eighth Stage of the Core Formation Realm, the insightful servant who had easily seen through the discourse existing between the two Core Formation Realm bandits, was speechlessly watching this scene play out, as he used the opportunity to land a hit on the bandit leader while he was distracted.

”JUST YOU WAIT UNTIL THIS IS OVER! YOU AND THAT LITTLE SCOUT CLEARLY SET ME UP!”

As the screams continued, the servant could not help feeling even more confused.

Just what on earth were these bandits up to? Was what the leader of the bandits said perhaps true? Was the weaker bandit really trying to use him to get rid of his leader so he could claim the position as leader?

”BOSS! We will help you!”

”Master Pu is a traitor and so is the scout!”

”Everyone! Who cares about the caravan! Letʼs help out the boss!”

”””YEAH!”””

Along with the shouts of the surrounding bandits who had realized that Master Pu had betrayed their boss and tried to set him up, all the bandits expect Master Pu turned around and charged towards the servant in an attempt to protect their boss.

What in the-

Almost spitting out a mouthful of blood upon seeing several hundred bandits at least having reached the Foundation Establishment Realm suddenly turn around and launch all kind of different colourful attacks in his direction, the servant quickly went on the defensive as he protected himself against the onslaught of attacks.

Even if they had only reached the Foundation Establishment Realm and were far weaker than someone in the Core Formation Realm. The number of attacks were more than enough to make up for the difference in realm, as the servant was forced to go on the defensive.

Boom-boom-boom!

Along with the attacks landing, the leader of the bandits quickly managed to fall back to his brothers before joining them in attacking the servant.

BOOM!

Why is this happening to me…?

The servant who had thought he would have a relatively easy time dealing with the bandit leader, suddenly found himself trying his best to defend against the countless attacks launched towards him from both the Foundation Establishment Realm bandits and the bandit leader himself!

…

”Hm? Why did all the bandits except for the Core Formation Realm one decide to turn around and fight the servant? Wait… Did he perhaps expect this to happen!?”

Realizing that all of the bandits expect the weaker one among the two Core Formation Realm bandits had turned around, Chu Yang could not help looking towards the servant fighting against hundreds of bandits along with the powerful bandit leader all by himself with respect.

At this point, Chu Yang had already realized that the servant intended to deal with all the bandits except for the one still heading towards the caravan all by himself!

Not only that, but he had even wanted to quickly deal with him so he could return back and finish off the last Core Formation Realm bandit that he had asked Chu Yang to hold back!

”Hah… I really canʼt run away when Iʼm only asked to hold back a single bandit. Not to mention, I can finally gain some experience fighting against someone in the Core Formation Realm!”

Shaking his head as he felt a bit ashamed for wanting to run away when the servant had been so kind as to give him the easy task of holding back a single Core Formation Realm bandit, Chu Yang took out his spear before jumping down from the carriage to face the Core Formation Realm bandit before he reached the caravan.
