Chapter 1749: Chapter 598: Revealing One’s Strength in Public, The Return Journey

The moment their eyes met.

Wen Ruan turned around, her face blooming with a bright and enthusiastic smile. ”Hello, Zhang Yan. You’re even prettier than in the photos.”

She had heard stories about her from Tang Song and truly felt sorry for this young girl.

She seemed gentle and delicate, pure and appealing, with almond-shaped eyes that were very pure.

The first impression was much better than those ”monsters” like Jin Meixiao, Liu Qingning, and Su Yu.

Moreover, her standing was different now.

Before, facing those women, she was always in the weaker position in need of help and support.

Su Yu gave her a mansion and helped her fix the printing factory’s mess; Jin Meixiao helped her friend with cross-border business and gave her a top-tier black card...

Now, the tides have turned; it’s her turn to be the ”big sister.”

Thinking about it made her a little excited.

Looking at Zhang Yan again, she found her increasingly pleasing.

This pitiful little look seemed easy to bully... No, easy to get along with.

”Hello, Chairman Wen.” Zhang Yan nervously pressed her lips together, blushing a bit.

Then, she learned from the others, and with a slight tremble, extended her hand.

This was the chairman of Star Cloud International Group, a celebrity only seen in magazines, and her future company’s leader.

If not for her experiences in the past few days that let her grow quickly, she would definitely be too nervous to speak properly.

Looking at her slender and fair hand, Wen Ruan blinked and suddenly opened her arms, giving Zhang Yan a firm, soft, and intimate hug with her ample chest.

”Nice to meet you.”

Attacked by this sudden embrace from the ”big” sister.

Zhang Yan’s eyes widened instantly, her cheeks flushed red, stammering without knowing what to say.

Wen Ruan chuckled gently and let her go, ”No need to be so nervous, and about the address, I’ve always wanted to correct it. Just call me Sister Wen Ruan or Sis; no need for formal titles.”

Zhang Yan lowered her head, awkwardly saying: ”Okay, thank you... Sister Wen Ruan.”

”That’s better.” Wen Ruan smiled contently, holding her hand, ”How’s Auntie’s situation? I heard from Tang Song that the results of today’s comprehensive examination are out.”

”Yes.” Mentioning her mother, Zhang Yan’s expression became heavier, ”The doctor said it’s better than expected, meets the treatment standards, and preparations can start soon.”

”That’s great, better than anything else.” You shouldn’t overthink or put too much pressure on yourself. Medicine is very advanced now...”

”I know, thank you, Sister Wen Ruan.” Zhang Yan looked at her with some emotion.

They continued chatting from work to life, from Yang City’s cultural atmosphere to Yan City’s snow views.

Wen Ruan could always throw in the right topics at the right time, gradually helping the introverted Zhang Yan open up.

She didn’t probe into any personal matters about Tang Song, nor did she give any high-handed ”life advice.” She simply shared joys and sorrows like a caring older sister.

Gradually, Zhang Yan’s tense body completely relaxed.

She realized that chatting with Chairman Wen was very comfortable and very pleasant.

Her natural affinity and strong empathy made people unconsciously want to be close to her and trust her.

After chatting for a good while.

Wen Ruan gestured to her assistant Wang Dandan.

Wang Dandan quickly opened the shopping bag in her hand, took out a delicately packed gift box, and handed it over.

”It’s our first meeting, and I wasn’t sure what you’d like.” Wen Ruan placed the gift box in Zhang Yan’s hand, ”A fountain pen, nothing too expensive, but I feel it suits a talented person like you. I hope you’ll like it.”

The gift box was a Mont Blanc, the Meisterstück series fountain pen shining gently under the light.

The pen’s body was slender and elegant, with a delicate nib, very beautiful.

”Ah!” Zhang Yan blushed, quickly declined: ”This, this is too expensive, I can’t accept it...”

She never considered herself a talented person, at most due to her major in Chinese language and literature, she had some foundation, could write articles, and recite poetry.

”Take it!” Wen Ruan pressed her hand down imperatively, ”This is my gift to you. If you don’t accept it, it’s like you’re looking down on me.”

Zhang Yan held the slightly heavy gift box, facing Wen Ruan’s non-negotiable gaze, ultimately whispered blushingly: ”...Thank you, Sister Wen Ruan.”

”Let’s go, take me to see Auntie.” Wen Ruan affectionately put her arm around her shoulder.

Entering the hospital room.

Wen Ruan immediately approached, placing the fresh flowers and imported fruit basket she brought on the bedside table, with a sincere smile on her face, ”Hello, Auntie, I’m Wen Ruan, Zhang Yan’s future colleague.”

”Hello, hello.” Zhou Hui looked at the powerful yet kind leader in front of her, nervously not knowing where to put her hands.

”Don’t worry, focus on recovering. I’ll arrange all of Zhang Yan’s work issues, so you don’t need to worry about her.”

Hearing this, Zhou Hui couldn’t hold back, thanked repeatedly, her eyes reddened, and emotional tears streamed straight down.

After a warm chat, Wen Ruan glanced at the time and stood up to say goodbye.

Zhang Yan followed alongside, escorting her all the way to the elevator of the special care ward.

”By the way, Zhang Yan, when are you planning to start the job?” Wen Ruan turned slightly, whispered, ”My suggestion is to sign the contract first; you can’t lose your social insurance benefits. Before things stabilize on your side, I won’t assign you too many tasks. You can stay with Auntie with peace of mind.”
