Chapter 646: Chapter 315: I Have Been an Assistant to Chairman Jin_3 Chapter 646: Chapter 315: I Have Been an Assistant to Chairman Jin_3 [Tang Song: “I think you can consider the market department, Ziqi. They are involved in branding, and later will collaborate with Light and Shadow Media. Since you are Zhuangzhuang’s best friend, the cooperation will definitely go smoothly.”]

Zhang Ziqi trembled as she replied, “President Tang, you can just call me Qiqi or Xiao Zhang. I will handle the resignation procedures as soon as possible!”

…

In the romantic French restaurant.

“Ding~~” The sound of wine glasses clinking was heard.

With a fragrant and tangy taste, the wine slid into her mouth. Xie Shuyu lightly sipped with her red lips, quietly savoring the flavor.

After a moment, her voice lazily said, “Tomorrow your school starts summer vacation, about 50 days of holiday, carefree, I really envy you.”

“Haha, I plan to travel around the country, meet some old friends.” Jiang Yourong put down her wine glass and looked at her tired eyes, “If you want, you can also live so relaxedly.

From the beginning, Glimmer Coffee has followed the high-end business route, isn’t that great?

Why make things so hard for yourself instead of focusing on what you do best?”

Xie Shuyu took another sip of wine, lightly shaking her head, “It’s not as simple as you think. The economic downturn has caused a downgrade in consumption, constantly changing consumer needs, and the rise of high cost-effective coffee like Luckin and Kudi. Glimmer Coffee is already on a decline.

If no effective changes are made, we will start closing stores earliest by next year.”

Jiang Yourong was surprised, “Is it really that serious?”

She has been busy with research projects at school for the past year and hasn’t chatted with Xie Shuyu about her cafe in a long time.

“Very serious.” Xie Shuyu nodded, “The primary issue is the consumption downgrade. Everyone is tightening their belts, business is not easy.”

She started the first Glimmer Coffee in 2017.

At that time, the domestic economy was flourishing, and business chic had a good market.

With the help of supply chain connections and excellent management skills.

In just two years, the stores expanded to four.

Later, business went smoothly, and by 2021, she had eight stores, covering the main CBD areas in Yan City.

In the process, she cashed out some equity, accepted two shareholders, and made a lot of money.

She bought a house in Shengyuan Good Place, a BMW 7 series, and provided a better life for her parents back home.

Her personal assets, excluding company equity, were close to ten million.

However, in the past two years, as the market changes and competition intensifies, the company’s growth momentum halted abruptly.

Glimmer Cafe, due to its prime locations and elegant decoration, has very high costs and cannot compete in price wars.

Many old customers turned to affordable, niche coffee shops, especially long-term corporate clients.

Xie Shuyu saw the unbreakable upper limit and foresaw the fate of Glimmer Coffee.

Unwilling to fail, reluctant to let go of years of hard work.

That’s why she wanted to make a desperate effort, seek financing, and diversify the stores.

Besides continuing to enrich products in the original business-style cafes, she planned to open community retail stores.

With dual strategies, the future would be more stable.

In fact, years of operations and promotions, coupled with corporate collaborations.

Glimmer Coffee has gained a certain degree of local recognition and reputation in Yan City.

This plan is feasible, but it requires a lot of money.

High investment corresponds to high risk.

Private investors are deterred, and institutions’ funds are hard to obtain.

For instance, Tiancheng Capital, currently conducting due diligence.

They have been investing in the consumer sector for years and have their own set of rules and logic.

Signing a VAM Agreement is guaranteed, along with equity repurchase clauses.

This is why the other two shareholders have such strong opinions.

But the company charter clearly states that they only have dividend rights, which led them to angrily sue Xie Shuyu.

…

“Shuyu.” Jiang Yourong gently said, “I think now you are almost financially free, there’s no need to work so hard.”

“I’m just unwilling to give up, and it’s only relative freedom, far from being truly wealthy.”

“Alright, I’m not qualified to persuade you.”

Xie Shuyu softly said, “By the way, Yu Sicheng is coming to Yan City for a business trip tomorrow, let’s get together in the evening, are you free?”

Jiang Yourong widened her eyes, revealing a look of realization, “No wonder you’re treating me to a fancy dinner today! Your little thoughts are really something.”

“Don’t say it like that, we are all alumni, it’s not easy to gather in Yan City.” Xie Shuyu looked at her, with an unusually lively and playful expression.

“Don’t pretend, you just feel it’s more ambiguous to be alone with him, and he happens to be your coffee supplier, hard to refuse, so you pulled me as a third wheel.”

Both were university alumni, separated for a few years, and returned to work in Yan City, now starting businesses.

They have always been close.

Many of Xie Shuyu’s corporate clients were introduced by Jiang Yourong.

They teased each other for a while, and the atmosphere became relaxed and cheerful.

Xie Shuyu looked at Jiang Yourong, and suddenly asked, “Honestly, do you regret leaving Smile Holding?”

Jiang Yourong was silent for a moment, then smiled and shook her head, “To say no regret, that’s impossible, I really didn’t expect Smile Holding would develop so rapidly, and underestimated Chairman Jin’s extraordinary abilities.”

She clinked glasses with Xie Shuyu, feeling nostalgic, “Speaking of which, I used to be Chairman Jin’s assistant, if I hadn’t left due to work pressure, you might be weak seeing me now, haha.”

After graduating with her Master’s degree, she unexpectedly entered the newly established Smile Holding.

At that time, the company was still called Smile Investment.

Though the funds and scale were substantial, it was just an emerging capital enterprise, far from today’s giant.

The qualities, capabilities, and knowledge displayed by the prodigy Jin Meixiao left a deep impression on her, highlighting the world’s disparities.

Never did she expect that after her resignation, Smile Holding would develop into such a behemoth.

If she could foresee the future, she would never resign to pursue a PhD.

Being Jin Meixiao’s assistant!

A dream opportunity for many.

If she had persisted for a few years, she could be externalized as a chairman at some holding company now.

“Haha.” Xie Shuyu laughed, “I really want to meet that legendary Chairman Jin, to see what kind of person she really is.”

“Anyway, she is remarkable.” Jiang Yourong ate a bite of foie gras, teased, “However, she does have a property in Yan City, bought in 2016, you might bump into her on the street one day.”

“Oh? Where’s her property?”

“YJHT, I don’t know the exact address, after all, I only followed her for half a year.”
