Chapter 95: Chapter 94: Heartbeat Chapter 95: Chapter 94: Heartbeat “Yaqian, have you been exhausted these past three days?”

“It’s okay, I’m just worried that I’m not doing well enough.”

“Recently, because of performance issues, a few people left our beauty salon, so we had to urgently hire a batch of new staff. I think you have a great chance of staying, so keep it up.”

“Mm-hm.”

“Ding-a-ling-a-ling—” The sound of a cellphone ringtone.

Li Weiwei answered the phone, her voice sweet, “Hello dear, have you arrived?”

“Mm-hm, okay, I was just about to head out. I’m waiting for you by the road.”

“Mua~, love you!”

After hanging up, Li Weiwei smiled and said, “My boyfriend is coming to pick me up, he’s worried about me being alone so late after work.”

“Weiwei, your boyfriend is really good to you,” Zhao Yaqian uttered enviously, somehow thinking of Tang Song.

Previously, whenever it rained, Brother Song worried about her inconvenience in getting to work and would specifically send her a red packet to take a taxi.

After work, he would also bring her delicious food and escort her home.

Brother Song had truly been good to her; however, since she repeatedly declined his invitations, she could distinctly feel his coolness towards her.

Upon reflection, they hadn’t met for 13 days already.

Li Weiwei packed her things and casually asked, “By the way, Yaqian, where do you live?”

“West Bridge District on Yuxin Road, Sky Garden Community.”

“Oh, that’s a bit unfortunate. I live in Yuhua District, so it won’t be convenient for my boyfriend to give you a ride,” Li Weiwei spread her hands, “There are hardly any buses at this hour, you’d better take a taxi, it’s safer.”

Zhao Yaqian yawned, “Mm, I really should take a taxi; otherwise, it’ll be too late getting home.”

She was someone who loved to sleep, used to sleeping early and waking up late, and this new schedule was somewhat painful for her.

The two chatted as they turned off all the lights in the beauty salon and shut the main door.

Having not eaten much in the evening, Zhao Yaqian felt a bit hungry again.

The evening breeze blew, and she tightened her pink sun protection jacket, feeling a bit cold.

They descended the steps and walked toward the roadside along the cobblestone path.

Directly opposite the main door, a sleek black sedan with its hazard lights flashing caught the glow of the streetlamps, casting a beautiful orange hue on its glossy finish.

Zhao Yaqian pointed at the car and asked, “Weiwei, is that your boyfriend’s car?”

Li Weiwei glanced at it and shook her head, “No, my boyfriend drives a white Volkswagen. That’s a BMW.”

“Oh,” Zhao Yaqian nodded.

As they got closer to the curb, Li Weiwei tiptoed to look toward the intersection but still couldn’t see her boyfriend’s car.

Approaching 11 p.m., the traffic had dwindled, and no taxis were in sight either.

Zhao Yaqian took out her cellphone to book a ride online.

“Click—” The door of the BMW next to them opened.

A tall figure stood up from inside.

He wore a clean white shirt, his dignified and handsome features, and a tall stature, very striking against the night sky.

His face bore a warm, handsome smile as he shook the thermos bag in his hand.

“Waiting for you to get off work is not easy. The fried skewers I brought are going to get cold.”

Zhao Yaqian blinked, looked at Tang Song, then back at the handsome BMW.

She bit her lip, it was a bit painful, definitely not an illusion.

Then she fell into a daze, standing there somewhat at a loss.

She couldn’t understand how after just over ten days of not seeing each other, Brother Song felt so unfamiliar, leaving her unsure of what to do.

Li Weiwei, seeing Zhao Yaqian’s unmoved expression, nearly thought this handsome guy was there to pursue her.

Tang Song stood in front of Zhao Yaqian, calmly looking at her.

It had been a while since they last met, and his beautician friend was still as stunning.

Her jeans were tightly stretched over her long legs, and the sundress she wore outlined a perfect curve beneath.

“Brother Song, how… how come you suddenly showed up?” Zhao Yaqian clasped her hands together, stealing glances at his face, then pointed at the BMW, “And you changed your car too?”

“I picked up the car a while ago. I got here at 10 o’clock, not realizing you were working overtime today.” Tang Song opened the insulated bag, pulled out a serving of juicy shredded potato, and handed it to her, “Eat up, Teacher Zhao. You must be hungry after all that work, right? There’s also milk tea in the car.”

Zhao Yaqian dumbly accepted the fried skewer, sniffing the familiar aroma, knowing it was from the handmade fried skewer shop at Yunsheng Square pedestrian street.

She took a big bite. Delicious!

It didn’t seem cold tonight either.

For some reason, her heart was racing!

Li Weiwei stared blankly at this scene, swallowing her envy.

He had arrived at 10 o’clock, bought food and drink in advance, and waited outside for more than 40 minutes to surprise Zhao Yaqian.

Thinking about her own boyfriend, whom she had asked to come pick her up, yet he still hadn’t arrived.

The key was this guy was tall and handsome, and he drove a BMW.

Li Weiwei felt like she had been shown up.

Just a moment ago, she had been pitying Zhao Yaqian for working so late and having no one to pick her up, with her home being so far away.

The boomerang hurt her badly!

“Hello, you must be Qianqian’s colleague, right? Have some too!” Tang Song pulled out a few skewers and passed them over.

Li Weiwei quickly took them, thanking him.

She couldn’t help but think to herself that the young man had a very handsome smile and beautiful hands.

Tang Song opened the passenger door and took out another cup of milk tea for Li Weiwei, “I happened to buy two cups, here, drink this,”

Li Weiwei’s face felt warm, but she accepted it nonetheless, “Thank you, thank you!”

Such a handsome and gentlemanly guy was really hard to refuse.

Zhao Yaqian was indeed very fortunate!

Tang Song looked at Zhao Yaqian, still eating her skewer, and sincerely said, “You’re welcome, Qianqian is quite naive. I hope you can look after her at the company.”

Li Weiwei nodded vigorously: “No problem, you can count on me.”

“Let’s get in the car, I’ll drive you home first.” Tang Song pointed at the car.

“No need, no need, my boyfriend is about to arrive. You can go ahead.”

Hearing that someone was coming to pick her up, Tang Song nodded and smiled at Zhao Yaqian, “It’s getting late, get in the car and eat.”

Zhao Yaqian took the insulated bag from Tang Song, waved at her colleague, and said, “See you tomorrow, Weiwei.”

“See you tomorrow.”

After getting into the car, Zhao Yaqian surveyed the car’s interior.

It was luxurious and looked very expensive.

Seeing Tang Song getting in, she stole glances at his profile.

Meeting again after 13 days, everything seemed different.

“Why do you keep staring at me? The milk tea is in the storage compartment of the co-driver’s seat, help yourself,” Tang Song laughed and turned to look at her.

Zhao Yaqian gripped the insulated bag tightly, speaking softly, “Brother Song, thank you for coming to pick me up, waiting so long, and bringing me food.”

She knew Tang Song’s daily routine, usually sleeping around 10 o’clock and waking up promptly at 6 every morning.

So she felt both surprised and guilty.

“Didn’t you say yesterday that there were very few people on the bus and you were a bit scared? I was actually quite worried about you.”

“Is that so…” Zhao Yaqian’s gaze froze for a moment, and she quietly lowered her head.

Tang Song pursed his lips and leaned towards the passenger seat.

Feeling his approaching presence, Zhao Yaqian quickly looked up, her heart seeming as though it would leap out of her throat, “Brother Song.”

Seeing her dazed, Tang Song smiled at her and pulled out the seat belt, “Let me help you with your seat belt.”

He fumbled several times before successfully inserting it.

His hand unavoidably brushed against her full hips, even through the jeans the touch felt very good.

Zhao Yaqian’s cheeks turned red, but she said nothing.
