Chapter 52: Chapter 51 Jing is Working Hard to Become Stronger! Chapter 52: Chapter 51 Jing is Working Hard to Become Stronger! The phone call paused for a few seconds before Tian Jing’s voice came through again, “Song, you’ve been with our company for about five months now, right?”

“Five months and seven days, I joined Jinxiu Commerce on November 17th last year,” Tang Song said, his eyes revealing a faint reminiscence.

On November 7th, the day of the Start of Winter, he had dumplings in Imperial City with his first love.

Then she left for Shen City, and he spent ten days job hunting, renting a place, and starting work, getting settled in Yan City.

Any company that can pay wages on time and make full contributions to the social insurances deserves respect.

He had never harbored any ill feelings towards Jinxiu Commerce and was very grateful for the sense of security the company gave him during that time.

“You… remember so clearly,” Tian Jing said a little surprised, her voice timidly adding, “I’ve had a very good impression of you over the past five months – you are responsible, serious, and have outstanding work ability. You’re a very, very excellent young man.”

Tang Song was stunned for a moment; those words sounded a bit strange, almost like a confession?

What a joke—Tian Jing, as the company’s goddess, the standard rich and beautiful girl, how could she possibly take a liking to him—a nobody in the company.

“Thank you, Supervisor Tian, for your affirmation.”

“Don’t be so formal, just call me Jing. I’ve looked at your attendance records; you’ve never been late or left early, and sometimes you even work overtime till very late.

I heard from Mingli that your skills are excellent; you’re proficient in frontend, backend, and shell.

Having worked in a major internet company in Imperial City, I really admire talents like you…”

Tian Jing didn’t speak very fast, occasionally stumbling over her words, but her voice was sweet and charming, and she spent the entire time praising his strengths, a very pleasant listen.

Tang Song just leaned back in the massage chair, quietly listening with a smile on his lips.

“It’s really impressive how quickly you managed to lose weight. You must share your experience with me when you get the chance.”

“We can add each other on WeChat later, and exchange tips when we’re free.”

“Erm… okay then.” Tian Jing, sensing Tang Song’s good mood, continued, “Also, there’s another work-related matter I need to discuss with you, okay?”

“Oh? What is it?” Tang Song sat up straighter, knowing they were getting to the main point, and he roughly guessed what it was about.

But this compensation supervisor was really something, starting off with a spree of compliments for him; what was this sly move?

“It’s about your salary issue. I don’t know if Director Chen has discussed it with you…”

Tang Song interrupted directly, “Yes! A month ago, after the SCM project I worked on was successfully launched, Director Chen promised me a 10% salary increase. I’ve been waiting for the notification from HR, and now it’s finally being honored! Thank you, Jing!”

Tian Jing seemed to be stuck for a while, “Err, err, err,” and took a long time to find her voice.

“Jing, are you okay?”

After taking a few deep breaths, Tian Jing said with difficulty, “It is indeed about the salary adjustment, but it’s… a 10% reduction. How should I put this… I feel it’s completely unrelated to you, since you’re so outstanding. But the company is a collective, and the leaders may have their considerations. I also feel terrible.”

After a silence, Tang Song responded, “Okay, I understand.”

“Then, if you can accept it, I’ll come to get your signature on the salary adjustment contract tomorrow.”

“No need, I don’t accept it. Just go ahead with the layoff procedure, I’ll submit it myself in the OA.”

“Ah?” Tian Jing was stunned for a moment and then said, “Alright then, since you’ve been here less than half a year, we can only offer you compensation for 1.5 months. You can set your departure date for the end of the month; the remaining days can count as handing over your duties. You don’t need to worry about attendance; it will be recorded as full attendance. If you have interviews, you can just go ahead.”

“Thank you.”

“No thanks needed! It’s only right! That, um…” Tian Jing hesitated to speak further.

Ever since she mentioned the 10% reduction, Tang Song’s voice had remained very calm, seemingly utterly unaffected by joy or sorrow.

But this unusual reaction made Tian Jing strongly suspect that his heart was utterly despondent.

She was familiar with Tang Song’s background—a young man from a small town with an average family, who actually had a very good reputation in the company, and was very hard-working.

She didn’t understand why Director Chen needed to target him, but this was her job, and she couldn’t escape it.

A strong sense of guilt weighed heavily on her heart.

Thinking of the suggestions from her online friends, Tian Jing continued, “After you complete your resignation, I’ll treat you to a meal. I really appreciate you and I hope you won’t be discouraged. Find a new job soon! You got this!”

Hearing her offer to treat him to a meal, Tang Song instantly perked up, saying with enthusiasm, “Sure, thank you, Jing. I actually really appreciate you too.”

He had planned to resign anyway, and now he could not only score 1.5 months’ salary as severance but also get to have dinner with his goddess colleague.

Hearing Tang Song’s cheerful voice, Tian Jing finally felt relieved, sweetly saying, “That’s settled then. If you have any problems, feel free to reach out to me, bye~”

“Bye.”

After hanging up the phone, Tang Song immediately clicked on the company’s main group chat and found Tian Jing’s profile picture to send a WeChat friend request.

Born to be suitable for JK uniforms, with her fair skin, sweet appearance, and adorable personality, she was a wealthy girl.

Like his other male colleagues, he genuinely admired Jing.

“Ding-dong—” His friend request was accepted.

“Pop!” Tang Song snapped his fingers and stood up from the massage chair, looking out at the rows of cars through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Now that he had the BMW 330i and his business was on the right track, he was in a state of confidence and high spirits.

…

After accepting Tang Song’s friend request and notifying the Director of Technology and the HR Director,

Tian Jing took a long breath of relief.

Although she was unhappy about being forcibly appointed by her father as the compensation manager, she was determined to try her best to be a competent junior leader!

She entered the “Beautiful in the Second Dimension” WeChat group.

Tian Jing typed quickly, “@Qingqing, boss, you’re awesome! I did as you instructed, and he has accepted the layoff. In the end, he was quite happy, hehe.”

As soon as the message was sent, it immediately attracted the attention of many group members.

[Sisi: “You’re truly our group leader’s right hand, @Qingqing. If I can’t find a job after graduation, I’ll come to you.”]

[Cream: “I want Qingqing’s protection too.”]

[White Valley: Yuno holding her face towards the light.jpg]

…

[Qingqing: “Oh dear, (sighs), the enthusiasm from the juniors is a bit overwhelming for me. @Jing, keep it up, (staring at the stars), one day you’ll become the CHO of a big conglomerate.”]

[Jing: “Jing is working hard to get stronger!”]

After chatting in the group for a while, Tian Jing felt greatly inspired and sensed she had learned a lot.

She joined the group during her university years, and over time, many had come and gone.

Usually, they discussed second-dimensional topics such as anime, cosplay, and gaming.

Everyone in the group had their own identity to play, and whether they were real or not was unknown.

For instance, Yunyu was an experienced game planner who joined the group to understand the thoughts of young people and find inspiration.

Jing was currently playing a newly employed HR professional.

And Qingqing was a partner at a law firm, young and successful, managing many intern lawyers and assistant lawyers.

She also had a lover, the president of a domestic conglomerate.

Qingqing would occasionally share stories about herself and her lover in the group, full of twists and turns and dramatic turns of events.

Initially, everyone was skeptical, but as she wrote in more detail, even incorporating case reviews, intense romance, and workplace rivalry, gradually, she gained everyone’s recognition.

Even if she wasn’t a Great Lawyer, she must at least be a business elite.
