Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 1256 - Soul King

”Master, are you fine?”

Nadia asked as she looked at Davisʼs absentminded yet ugly expression. His expression was twisted as if he was deeply angered by something, but it disappeared when he responded to her call.

”Yes, I am...” Davisʼs c.h.e.s.t heaved as he calmed down.

A smile appeared on his face as he shot her a consoling look.

She didnʼt ask why he had that hateful expression on his face, but she was unaware that even Davis did not know that he had an angered expression on his face.

”I called Master by your name, but Master didnʼt respond...” Nevertheless, she was afraid that Davis was angered that he was angered because she called his name many times.

Davis blinked before he instantly realized, ”I apologize, Nadia. Itʼs not like I didnʼt respond to you since you called my name. I didnʼt respond because I was bewildered by some other matter that popped in my mind.”

”I see...” Nadia uttered as she relaxed, a slight smile appeared on her lips, ”Congratulation on breaking through to the King Soul Stage, Davis.”

Davis stood up as he embraced her, ”Thank you, my Nadia! Ahaha!”

He kissed her cheek and continued to embrace her as he chuckled. Nadia didnʼt know what this emotion was that welled up within her. It made her heart flutter, making her think that this wasnʼt dangerous for her heart to pound rapidly.

She was confused, but on the other hand, Davisʼs laughter died down as his expression became a bit solemn.

ʼStrange shit... Now I forgot what happened in my mind.ʼ

Davis tried to remember the flashes of images he saw in his mind but other than the one image that made him deeply shocked; he couldnʼt remember anything else. It was all strange as it faded away from my mind as if he had never seen them in the first place, but he was aware that he at least had seen something.

He felt like he hurt his head in confusion.

ʼWhy donʼt I remember anything other than that unfamiliar moment with Tina Roxley? Did I ever sleep with her and possibly forgot?ʼ

He couldnʼt help but ask himself but slightly shook his head, ʼNo, Iʼm positive that I didnʼt, but this feels too natural as if it had happened...ʼ

Davisʼs expression became increasingly unnatural as he inwardly acknowledged.

ʼThis is nuts... Am I going crazy?ʼ

He had a breakthrough to the King Soul Stage. He felt that he was supposed to be extremely happy, but there wasnʼt a sliver of happiness found in his heart that he could only display a smile to fake it.

Davis separated and patted Nadiaʼs lovely white cheek, telling her not to worry before he went back and sat, beginning to consolidate his consolidation.

However, at the same time, he decided to ask Fallen Heaven.

”Fallen Heaven, did you experience anything new?” His voice resounded in his soul sea as he narrowed his eyes.

Each time he broke through a new stage, Fallen Heaven experienced something new. It was as if it was the norm. He didnʼt mind it if it was something positive like giving him overpowered energies, but if it started affecting him, causing him to have delusions like this, he felt that he had to do something about it.

”Now that you mention it, I do feel that my powers have experienced a bit of change...” That same deep voice echoed in his soul sea.

Davisʼs eyes outwardly squinted.

”You mean in strength wise or something else?”

”I wouldnʼt know unless you or I tried, but I think itʼs the former...” Fallen Heaven replied in a doubtful tone.

Davis inwardly nodded, feeling that the change in Fallen Heaven wasnʼt extremely big, like the last time where it gave birth to the life-like energy. It seemed like a lesser change, but it still caused him to see a delusion like that. It was extremely discomforting that he didnʼt even want to think about it because it almost made him feel like the life he was living now was a lie, although he didnʼt know why for sure as he couldnʼt remember what he saw anything more other than Tina Roxley.

ʼCould it be that the answer lies with her...?ʼ Davis inwardly mused.

If it was, then he felt like he had to find her. According to Elder Seylas, she left with her master to the Thousand Pill Palace Territory. However, his eyes abruptly trembled as he remembered something.

[

Alchemist Scythe, I know you would think less of me after you hear that I killed my own father.

However, I can only say that he deserved it.

Fate let us meet twice...

If it lets us meet again...

-Tina Roxley

]

Davisʼs expression severely trembled, but he managed to stop himself from making an extreme twitch of his face. He couldnʼt help but recall the letter she wrote to him, especially the last two lines.

[

Fate let us meet twice...

If it lets us meet again...

]

ʼIf fate lets us meet again, then what?ʼ Davis couldnʼt help but feel something was wrong.

At that time, he laughed, thinking if she was going to kill him, musing that it was impossible, but now, forget killing, but they now slept with each other? In what world? What kind of seduction was this? Charm Laws?

ʼThat woman, did she do something to me? Or was it Fallen Heavenʼs breakthrough side effect? The time that both happened was merely coincidental? But, this is a sealed space that shatters almost all connections. How could she be powerful enough to affect me...?ʼ

Many questions flashed past his mind.

However, forgetting Charm Laws, the word ʼfateʼ from the letter hung on his mind, making him feel skeptical.

ʼPerhaps, if such a law that can control fate existed, then it could really affect me. After all, Fallen Heaven has a similar effect of changing oneʼs fate, but in actuality, all it does is kill, heal, and see peopleʼs lifespan, which is kinda related to fate in a sense.ʼ

Davis kept inwardly musing, but he failed to arrive at an answer. He stopped thinking about it as he only felt his head hurt vainly. He felt like he should give it a break and forcefully pulled himself out of those thoughts with his powerful will but then...

ʼHoly f.u.c.k!ʼ

Davis couldnʼt help but inwardly scream as his eyes shot wide open, ʼThe danger has actually lessened that I donʼt feel endangered by it! Does that mean that I am now prepared to face the danger that I might eventually face...?ʼ

His expression trembled as a deep smile automatically appeared on his face.

ʼEntering the King Soul Stage and becoming a Soul King was extremely worth it!!!ʼ

This meant that he could afford to relax from now on!

Davis was about to laugh, but his expression went stiff as his vision became dark.

”Davis, are you really fine...?” Nadiaʼs voice echoed again.

Watching Davis repeatedly show different reactions as if he was deeply bothered about something made her feel worried. Although she could see that his expression was stiff, there were some slight eyeball movements, the twitching of brows, and a few other frown that she noticed.

Besides, she could feel that he was not feeling well from the soul connection that they had possessed. However, he suddenly started smiling and became overly happy that she couldnʼt help but worry that something happened to his soul.

”I am really fine, but what are you doing?”

Davisʼs lips twitched as he spoke. He couldnʼt even move his head as he had been embraced by Nadia. His head was now buried in her bountiful mounds!

”Eh, I saw you lay your head on Evelynnʼs and Sophieʼs bosoms to feel good, so Iʼm using mine to help feel Mas... you good. Am I good enough...?” Nadia asked in a low voice, her cheeks becoming red.

Davis was flabbergasted that he remained like that without making a sound. He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but couldnʼt as his lips closed and opened.

”Davis, it feels ticklish...”

Nadia suddenly couldnʼt take the silence that she filled in by herself. Davis blinked and came out of his reverie as he moved his head out of the lucky situation he had found himself in. He stared at her golden eyes and the charming look she had on her face.

”I should make you feel more ticklish, but this isnʼt the time for that. I thank you for cheering me up, Nadia. I feel good now, but weʼll have all the fun we can when we return, so weʼll first leave this damned place. What do you say?”

It was unknown if Nadia understood his nuance or not, but she smilingly nodded her head.

”Great!”

Davis was excited as well. Now that the danger had receded by a great margin, he decided to crap the training session. In any case, he had already achieved his target, so there was no need to remain and hesitate about returning anymore.

All he had left here to do now was return to the little town and take Niera out of this sealed space and show her the wide world, especially the shining sun, which she hadnʼt probably witnessed even once other than her grandfather, whose powerful light of flames blinds everything like a sun.

As for the others, Niera would obviously be sad if he didnʼt take them, but surely he could take them out later.

ʼAfter all, I am free to enter and exit as I please as long as I possess the Blazing Thunderlight Kirinʼs aura in my soul sea...ʼ

There was still some time before Grand Elder Elise was released, so he couldnʼt let Ezekiel Alstreim see them before that, or else he would have a price to pay regardless of the amicable relationship they had developed. If they could not make sacrifices, then they could definitely sacrifice themselves to take revenge, but those were precisely the people Davis admired and approved of!

He and Nadia no longer wasted time here as they set out to the little town.
