Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 1825 - 0154: Motherʼs Betrayal 1

At that moment, the dining table was indeed filled with food, but the people sitting at the table were not Li Menglan, but two other girls.

One of these girls was his biological sister, and the other was also his biological sister.

Although they were both his sisters, they were not identical—one was his twin sister, and the other was his half-sister.

When Wang Yue returned, the two girls reacted differently.

Wang Yaru said in surprise, ”Brother, youʼre back!”

Wang Xiner, however, complained, ”Why did you come so late? The food has already cooled down.”

”Why are you both here?” Wang Yue asked, puzzled. If it were just Wang Xiner coming alone, he wouldnʼt have been surprised, but the fact that Wang Yaru was also there was rather strange. After all, with his younger sister present, the two of them couldnʼt be too affectionate, could they?

”Ever since the rules at the training ground were abolished, youʼve never come to see us. I missed you so much,” Wang Yaru said.

Among all the siblings, she was the one who liked to stick close to Wang Yue the most and was also the most dependent on him.

Wang Xiner retorted in a gruff tone, ”What, you donʼt welcome me?”

”Of course I welcome you,” Wang Yue said, then picked up the food on the table. ”Wait a moment; Iʼll go to the kitchen to reheat it.”

As he walked into the kitchen, Wang Yue could still hear the conversation between his sisters outside.

Wang Yaru said, ”Sister Xiner, why are you so harsh on brother? Wasnʼt it you who suggested coming to see him today?”

”How can you mix things up like that? This guy came back so late—who knows where heʼve been hanging out?” Wang Xiner muttered.

”No way. Brother isnʼt that kind of person,” Wang Yaru quickly argued. After a pause, she added weakly, ”We should at least ask him first, right?”

”Even if we ask, we wonʼt get the truth. Men are all bad people,” Wang Xiner said, as if she had experience in this matter.

Wang Yue couldnʼt help but shake his head and smile wryly. Xiner must be worried that Xiao Ru would notice something unusual between him and her, so she said that deliberately. But this was too much—it would only arouse suspicion instead.

When Wang Yue brought out the reheated food, the two sisters had stopped arguing. Suddenly, Wang Xiner remembered something and said, ”By the way, brother, Auntie asked me to tell you that youʼll need to go out to sea in a few days to pick up some materials. Youʼd better start preparing in advance.”

”Uncleʼs wife? Why didnʼt she just notify me directly?” Wang Yueqi asked.

”Well, she would have to be able to contact you in the first place,” Wang Xinʼer replied. ”Why did you turn off your communicator?”

Wang Yue then remembered that in the afternoon at school, fearing that the communicator might disturb others, he had simply turned it off. Since he rarely used it, he hadnʼt thought to turn it back on after class.

”I turned it off earlier and forgot to turn it on again,” Wang Yue said, feeling a bit embarrassed.

”See? Your communicator is turned off—so you must have been hanging out somewhere outside, afraid of being disturbed,” Wang Xinʼer took the opportunity to say to Wang Yaru.

Wang Yaru also looked at Wang Yue with some confusion.

”What are you talking about?” Wang Yue said with a wry smile. ”I went to school in the afternoon because I didnʼt want to disturb anyone.”

”School? What were you doing there?” Wang Xinʼer asked in surprise.

Wang Yaru then curiously asked, ”Brother, is school fun?”

”Not really fun, but the atmosphere there seems to be conducive to my kind of martial artistʼs enlightenment,” Wang Yue replied honestly.

”School actually has such an effect?” Both of his sisters stared in astonishment. For a martial artist, enlightenment was something that came rarely—if one practiced hard for a month, they might not even experience it once. If there really was a place that could increase the chances of enlightenment, its value would be immense.

Wang Yue explained his reasoning to his sisters and added, ”Actually, Iʼm not entirely sure, so I plan to go and experience it myself in a few days. If it works, my sister-in-law and I will ask Grandma to let you all go try it out too.”

”Canʼt we all go together?” Wang Yaru asked. She really wanted to be with her brother all the time, and if they could take this opportunity to go to school together, that would be great.

Wang Yue shook his head. ”Iʼm afraid not. You know how Grandma is—if we canʼt prove that itʼs really feasible, she wonʼt allow so many people to skip their responsibilities.”

”Okay then,” Wang Yaru said, feeling a bit disappointed.

”Xiaoru, donʼt be disappointed,” Wang Xinʼer tried to comfort her.

”Even if Grandma agrees, Brother and I will be going to high school, while your age and lack of formal training mean you would probably only be able to go to junior high.”

”Ugh… I donʼt want to talk about it,” Wang Yaru said, then tugged at Wang Yueʼs clothes. ”Brother, look at her!”

”Alright, letʼs wait until Grandma agrees before discussing this further,” Wang Yue quickly changed the subject. ”Xinʼer, Uncleʼs wife asked me to go out to sea—what materials do we need to collect, and on what specific day?”

”She didnʼt mention the exact day; she just said to wait for her notice,” Wang Xinʼer replied.

”As for the materials, it seems they are related to some machine that Aunt Yan is working on.”

”Did she say who would be going?” Wang Yue asked again.

”She said itʼs up to you—bring anyone you want,” Wang Xinʼer said.

Wang Yue understood that Uncleʼs wifeʼs arrangement was probably just an excuse to take them out for a trip since there was no real danger involved.

In fact, what they meant by ”going out to sea” was actually traveling to what was once the Yangtze River hundreds of years ago.

Since the surface of the Earth had expanded hundreds of times due to the revival of spiritual energy, the original Yangtze River had become an endless ocean.
