Apocalypse Descent: Farming with My Harem

Chapter 100 - 90: Dissecting the Rabbit Corpse, Massive Harvest

Cao Xing was filled with anticipation, but the most important thing now was to handle the battle at hand.

The Bomb Rabbits’ formation had collapsed. They were scurrying everywhere, trying to escape.

Yet Cao Xing was waiting to replenish his food supplies, so there was no way he’d let them escape easily.

“Renice, Sarah, stop them for me!”

“Assam, Andrew, take down the Bomb Rabbits on the ground.”

Following Cao Xing’s orders, the recruited creatures began showcasing a fiercer offensive!

Whoosh, whoosh whoosh!

Renice hit the escaping Bomb Rabbits on the spot.

Blot Sulfur Stone also whipped up a Black Smoke Storm, taking out several Bomb Rabbits in a sweep.

“Chirp chirp! Chirp chirp chirp!”

The Ice Ball Bomb Rabbits were no longer arrogant and bandit-like, each trying to find a hiding place.

They even attempted to burrow into the ground mouse holes, but were too fat, leaving half their butts exposed.

Seeing this, a smile curled at the corner of Cao Xing’s mouth.

Then, he conjured several Ice Cones and shot them out instantly.

A few minutes later, the battle was over.

Half of the Ice Ball Bomb Rabbits were killed, and a portion of the others managed to escape.

Due to Da Bai’s massive body, after activating [Frenzy Charge], many silver fir trees were broken.

Added to Cao Xing’s [Ice Arrow Rain] and Blot’s [Black Smoke Storm], all were area-of-effect damages.

A devastated scene appeared in this patch of woods.

Cao Xing noticed there were some bird nests on the broken branches.

He walked over and collected the contents of the nests.

[Obtained Bird Eggs *6]

[Obtained Feathers *37]

[Obtained Bird Eggs *6]

[Obtained Feathers *37]

…

Liu Muxue was collecting alongside him and curiously asked, “Axing, are these feathers useful?”

“Of course they’re useful.”

Cao Xing turned around and replied, “Feathers are needed for making arrows. In the future, the militia we train will require many arrows, and those arrows will consume a lot of materials, so we save wherever we can.”

“I see.”

Realization dawned in Liu Muxue’s eyes.

Then, she also collected even more diligently.

She collected all the bird eggs and feathers from the ground.

Cumulative acquisition:

[Eggs *72 pieces]

[Feathers *342 pieces]

Next were the corpses of these Bomb Rabbits.

As Cao Xing approached, a system prompt appeared.

[Body of Ice Ball Bomb Rabbit (Decomposable)]

Cao Xing clicked to decompose directly.

A burst of white light appeared on the plump rabbit’s body.

Then a rabbit pelt, a stack of fresh rabbit meat, and two blue stones appeared.

Cao Xing glanced at these items’ attributes.

[Worn Snow and Ice Bomb Rabbit Pelt (White) *1]

(Though slightly worn, the thick fur has good warmth retention. It can be made into cold-proof clothing or sold in the town for a good price.)

[Bomb Rabbit Meat (Green) *16]

(Rabbit meat containing faint magical waves, 1 piece of rabbit meat = 5 food, on first consumption, can increase 1 Agility attribute.)

[Hard Rabbit Teeth (Green) *2]

(Hard rabbit teeth can be sharpened to make spearheads or sold to a city merchant.)

[Ice Crystal Stone (Green) *1]

…

“Wow, Green Grade rabbit meat, that’s not bad!”

One Snow and Ice Bomb Rabbit could provide a dozen pieces of rabbit meat, about the same in kilograms.

Although it couldn’t be sold for a high price like Snowy Blizzard Bear meat, there were so many rabbits killed!

Just now, they had taken down at least two hundred rabbits. If decomposed, they could harvest a large amount of rabbit meat and pelts!

Cao Xing’s eyes sparkled with joy.

“Muxue, start decomposing the rabbits.”

Liu Muxue also wore a joyful expression of harvest on her face and nodded excitedly, “Mm-hmm!”

With this haul, the food collected would suffice for the territory residents for half a month.

[Successfully decomposed Ice Ball Bomb Rabbit body…]

[Successfully decomposed Frost Bomb Rabbit body…]

[Successfully decomposed…]

System prompts kept appearing.

Liu Muxue traded all the recently acquired resources to Cao Xing, saving backpack space.

Cao Xing tallied the harvest:

[Worn Ice Ball Bomb Rabbit Pelt (White) *154]

[Worn Frost Bomb Rabbit Pelt (Green) *5]

There was no choice; with so many rabbits earlier and the ensuing chaos, nearly no pelts were intact.

Besides this, they also got some rabbit meat and rabbit teeth.

[Ice Ball Bomb Rabbit Meat (Green) *2310]

[Frost Bomb Rabbit Meat (Blue) *112]

(Meat from Elite Level Bomb Rabbits, fresh and tender, on first consumption, can increase Spirit by 2 points and Constitution by 2 points.)

[Hard Rabbit Teeth (Green) *297]

[Ice Crystal Stone (Green) *75]

[Basic Elemental Crystals *24]

…

The harvest was quite fruitful.

The key point was, several Elite Level rabbits had also dropped a fair amount of blue rabbit meat.

The price of this stuff was almost on par with Fierce Bear meat!

Cao Xing felt a surge of happiness.

Because this meant he had new items to trade with other survivors!

Moreover, now that resources were abundant, he could trade all his stored [Snowy Blizzard Bear Meat].

The daily meals of the subjects could be substituted with other foods, maximizing their interests.

Thinking of this, Cao Xing nodded in satisfaction.

After making sure nothing was left behind, he announced, “Continue downhill!”

Thud, thud thud!

Da Bai kept pace, advancing down this mountain path.

No unexpected events occurred afterward.

They soon arrived at the foot of the mountain and thus left the Borialis Mountains.

In the vast snowfield, they left different footprints behind.

Cao Xing glanced at the time above his head.

[Time until nightfall: 2 hours 17 minutes…]

[Current temperature: -57℃]

“There’s more than two hours left, more than enough time to return to the territory.”

The team proceeded along another route, moving toward the camp.

Sarah, as usual, vanished into the shadows, scouting ahead.

Since advancing as a third-tier Leader Level existence, Sarah’s Move Speed was frighteningly fast, even in the snow, not hindering this Dark Elf’s ability at all.

After advancing about five kilometers,

Sarah silently reappeared beside Cao Xing and reported, “Honored Lord, there’s a village ahead.”

“A village?”

Hearing this, Cao Xing looked somewhat puzzled.

He opened the map for a glance.

From where he stood, about a kilometer to the northwest.

There was a village named [Hog Village].

Looking in the direction indicated on the map, he could faintly see some low buildings covered in snow.

Seeing these buildings from such a distance indicated this was by no means a small village.

Cao Xing pondered, “If there’s a village, there should be general stores, food stores, or similar shops, right?”

“Can I handle some of my miscellaneous items and exchange them with these natives for other resources?”

Having thought this through, Cao Xing made up his mind.

“Let’s go, let’s have a look.”

Cao Xing led his team, grandly approaching [Hog Village].

Upon getting closer, the team found the village to be quite large indeed.

There were at least hundreds of houses of varying sizes, close to the size of a small town.

A river, frozen into ice, passed along the village’s edge.

Beside it lay cleared plots of farmland, covered with greenhouses to ward off wind and snow.

Moreover, Cao Xing saw many sheepfolds and cowsheds near the village.

Inside, a large number of woolly sheep and cattle were penned in!

“So many cattle and sheep!” Cao Xing’s eyes lit up.

If they were all slaughtered, how much beef and lamb would that yield?

Liu Muxue softly said, “Axing, those seem to be yaks; they can produce milk.”

Hearing this, Cao Xing got even more excited.

Milk was a great resource; it could not only restore blood volume and increase satiety.

Cao Xing decided that if possible, he should see if he could buy a few dairy cattle from these natives to raise himself.

“Let’s go, let’s take a look at this village.”

Thud, thud thud!

The group marched toward the village, making quite a scene.

As they approached, Cao Xing discovered that besides the development of agriculture and animal husbandry.

The defensive forces of [Hog Village] seemed quite decent.

Around the village, every two or three hundred meters stood a thirty-meter-high [Watchtower], with two archers scanning the surroundings with sharp gazes.

However, [Hog Village] seemed to have encountered some incident recently.

There appeared to be some areas on the village outskirts that were hit by something, causing houses to collapse in clusters.

A group of villagers was urgently repairing with ladders and hammers.

There were also some blood remnants on the ground, indicating a recent battle here.

Seeing the ice shard fragments on the ground, Cao Xing seemed to understand something.

A group of armed militia swiftly charged out from the village.

They had noticed Cao Xing’s group coming from the snowfields from afar.

Yet, with the makeup of Cao Xing’s team, it was hard not to attract attention.

Three three-meter-high machines accompanied by a nearly five-meter-high mammoth.

Then there were Centaurs and Char Clan members, beings rarely seen in the Gale Snow Plain.

Thud, thud thud!

Every step made by the mammoth caused intense vibrations, even collapsing the snow on the eaves of some houses near the village.

When the militia got close, they exclaimed, “By the gods, what do I see? That looks like a mammoth!”

“Heavens, why would a sacred mammoth come to our Hog Village?”

The militia, with eyes full of awe and vigilance, looked at Cao Xing and his entourage.

Cao Xing glanced at the militia’s attributes.
