Apocalypse Descent: Farming with My Harem

Chapter 67: Lordʼs Hut Upgrade! (Seeking Subscription)

At this moment, Cao Xing was indeed tempted; he really wanted to take in all these Tree Spirits.

However, there were fourteen members of the Tree Spirit Clan here.

And the population of Cao Xing’s territory was already nearing its limit.

[Current Population: 41/50]

“But, this is not a big problem.”

“My Lord’s Hut can soon be upgraded to Level 2.”

“At that time, the population can double.”

Cao Xing looked back at his territory.

With the construction done by four subjects,

the Lord’s Hut had gradually transformed from a one-story wooden cabin into a two-story stone house, even with ventilated windows left out.

Cao Xing took a glance.

[Level 1 Lord’s Hut: Construction Progress 87%]

It was fast, and it was estimated that it would be built successfully in just half an hour.

So, Cao Xing asked, “Can I take in these Tree Spirit Clan members?”

Upon hearing this, not only merchant Hilton,

but also those Tree Spirit Clan members showed a look of joy on their faces.

“Lord Hilton, what price are you prepared to offer for these Tree Spirit Clan members?”

Hilton pondered slightly, “The Tree Spirit Clan is a powerful race and possesses good combat talent.”

“There are fourteen Tree Spirits here, and at market price, it’s about 5000 crowns per person…”

“14 Tree Spirits would be 70,000 crowns, and with a discount, it’s 65,000 crowns.”

“Lord Cao Xing, what do you think?”

Cao Xing couldn’t help but think to himself, that’s really expensive!

You must know, even if you go to the city to buy those ordinary human slaves, it’s only about one to two thousand crowns.

This price was three to four times more.

As expected, the Black Lion Commerce was willing to take in the Tree Spirit Clan, but still made a hefty profit off them.

However, considering the special nature of the Tree Spirit Clan, Cao Xing nodded.

“That’s fine, besides that, I also need 100 rounds of 12.7mm bullets, and a bottle of Vitality Secret Medicine.”

Cao Xing was about to run out of bullets, so he took this opportunity to replenish.

Upon hearing this, Hilton’s smile grew even wider, and he squinted his eyes saying, “Bullets and Secret Medicine together form 50,000 crowns, with a discount it’s 45,000 crowns.”

“Altogether, you only need to pay me 110,000 crowns.”

Cao Xing nodded and then took out 110,000 crowns, feeling quite helpless inside.

Damn it, he had just made over 100,000 from the Black Lion Commerce, and in the blink of an eye, he had traded it away.

It was truly making money where you spend it, not even one crown could be taken home.

Both parties completed another round of trading.

Hilton laughed so much that his eyes were practically closed.

He found that Cao Xing was simply his lucky star.

Not only did he gain precious Black Diamond from him, but he also offloaded a batch of Tree Spirits, earning a large amount of crowns.

The more he looked at Cao Xing, the more pleasing to the eye he found him.

Meanwhile,

the Tree Spirits were also brought over by the Guard Team.

Hilton looked at the group of pale Tree Spirit Clan members and said, “From today, you belong to this Lord Cao Xing.”

“He is an important partner of our Black Lion Commerce, and you must follow Lord Cao Xing’s orders without defiance.”

Hearing this, the group of Tree Spirits all knelt down and then gratefully said, “Thank you, Lord.”

Cao Xing nodded.

At this time, seeing the deal was done, Hilton sensibly stated, “Lord Cao Xing, the transaction is complete, so I won’t disturb you any longer.”

Cao Xing replied, “Alright, Lord Hilton, safe travels.”

Hilton gestured a prayer to Cao Xing, “Father of Gods bless you.”

After speaking, Hilton and his caravan disappeared into the vast snowy landscape.

Only the 14 Tree Spirits remained, still kneeling on the ground.

As Guardians of the Pale Tree, they were naturally very cold-resistant; even with just clothes made of leaves, they could survive in extreme cold for a long time.

Cao Xing did not immediately issue a recruitment invitation to them but instead said, “Get up now and follow me into the territory.”

Now it was still the newbie protection period, but the Lord had the authority to open the territory to other NPCs.

These Tree Spirits obediently stood up, then carefully stepped into Cao Xing’s territory.

Nif, possessing elite potential, stood unremarkably among the crowd.

Dazhuang and Cao Yi were curiously watching this batch of newly joined subjects.

Cao Xing directly said, “Cao Yi, speed up the upgrade progress of the Lord’s Hut.”

Subject Cao Yi immediately responded, “At your command, Lord!”

“Dazhuang, upgrade more shelters so that our new members have a place to live.”

“Happy to serve you, my Master.”

“Dahua, go prepare food for our new members.”

Dahua accepted the order and began taking personnel into the Cafeteria to prepare the day’s second meal.

The Tree Spirit Clan watched anxiously as this man gave one order after another.

Then, they stood silently by the bonfire, waiting.

Half an hour later, Cao Xing heard a system prompt.

[Your Lord’s Hut has been successfully upgraded, current Level: Level 2]

[Population Cap +50, Reputation Value +200]

[Current Population: 41/100]

[Blacksmith Shop, Ore Processing Plant, Sewing Shop, Cafeteria, etc… territory buildings, can now be upgraded to Level 2.]

Seeing this two-story stone house completely formed, a look of joy appeared on Cao Xing’s face!

Great, finally reached Level 2!

However, this time the system did not give a reward.

After thinking about it, it was also normal.

After all, with the large base of humans globally, it was not unusual for someone ahead of him to build a Level 2 Lord’s Hut.

Cao Xing turned around and looked at the waiting Tree Spirit Clan, then asked,

“So, I now invite you to join my territory. Are you willing?”

The group of Tree Spirits immediately knelt down.

“Willing to serve you, esteemed Lord.”

A heap of system prompts appeared.

[Recruitment successful, Tree Spirit Clan: Yobel lv5, Tree Spirit Clan: Anita lv6, Tree Spirit Clan: Nif lv5… have joined your territory.]

Cao Xing nodded, “Very good.”

Then he glanced at these people’s loyalties.

All were between 60~70, not too high.

As for that elite member of the Tree Spirit Clan,

when Cao Xing’s eyes swept over, Nif instinctively lowered her head, not daring to meet his gaze.

Cao Xing didn’t mind either.

A First-tier elite wasn’t very important to him.

As long as she was obedient and willing to work, that was enough.

So, Cao Xing said, “Then you can go to the Cafeteria now to eat some food and replenish your strength.”

Hearing this, the group of Tree Spirit Clan members looked at Cao Xing nervously but did not move.

Cao Xing was puzzled, “What’s wrong?”

At this time, a tall and mature-looking female of the Tree Spirit Clan stood out and said, “Esteemed Lord, we of the Tree Spirit Clan are accustomed to surviving in the wild. Give us a little dry bread, and we will eat outside, so as not to dirty your floors.”
