Chapter 276: Tsunade’s Little Scheme

”This isn’t poison,” Amemiya Kenichi said as he pinched his nose. He had just thrown a handful of white phosphorus forward.

The smoke produced when white phosphorus burned was toxic, but for the overpowered monsters of the Ninja World, the effect was not especially significant, since ninja generally had extremely strong physiques.

Unless someone stayed inside the toxic smoke from burning white phosphorus for a long time, it was unlikely to cause serious problems.

This was fundamentally different from ordinary people in his previous life. The reason white phosphorus bombs had been internationally banned in his past life was not only because of how dangerous they were, but also because of how inhumane they were.

If that substance touched skin, it would keep burning, searing through flesh and all the way down to the bone. Combined with the large amount of toxic gas produced during the process, it could easily cause severe psychological trauma and long term post war aftereffects in soldiers.

That was also a major reason it had been included in international conventions.

Of course, humanitarian treaties like that were just scraps of paper. They were used when convenient, and ignored completely when things became truly desperate.

”Heavenly Foot of Pain!”

Following Tsunade’s furious roar, Amemiya Kenichi felt the ground beneath him crack apart in an instant. A fissure tore through the flames, and the violent air pressure blasted open a path straight through his Great Fire Annihilation.

Amemiya Kenichi immediately sensed that something was off.

Tsunade rarely called out the names of her jutsu in real combat. Looking at it now, it felt more like she was deliberately reminding him that she was about to use something.

If that was the case...

At that moment, Tsunade clenched her fist and threw another punch.

Amemiya Kenichi glanced at her face. Fortunately, she had not activated the Strength of a Hundred Seal, which proved she was not truly going all out.

With that thought, he also realized the real reason behind Tsunade’s fury.

”Big Sister Tsunade, you’re not actually planning to keep me in Konoha, are you?” Amemiya Kenichi sighed.

Thinking about it now, Tsunade’s sudden attack earlier was probably because she was angry at Hiruzen Sarutobi, and in that rage, she had chosen to take it out on him.

Amemiya Kenichi sometimes liked to achieve his goals through certain methods, but that did not mean he only knew how to achieve his goals that way.

So no, he was not a politician like the Third Hokage.

Amemiya Kenichi was also a pure ninja. He simply preferred saving time and effort. If he could achieve what he wanted more quickly and conveniently, then there was no need to choose the more troublesome path.

And Tsunade was clearly very dissatisfied with the Third Hokage’s actions, but the problem was that Hiruzen was there. She could not exactly ignore him and go after him first while a rogue ninja was standing right in front of her.

So now, Amemiya Kenichi had become her punching bag, because if Tsunade were truly serious about taking him down, she would definitely have activated the Strength of a Hundred Seal.

”You little brat, let this old woman beat you up and vent some anger!” Tsunade cursed as she threw another punch.

Amemiya Kenichi let out a long breath. As long as she was not seriously trying to kill him, he did not want any new complications in this plan.

After all, if Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo saw too much, it was hard to say what other ideas they might come up with. At that point, he might end up replacing his teacher and carrying out the Konoha Crush plan himself.

”Good thing I don’t need those things I prepared earlier.” Amemiya Kenichi gave up on using the items he had prepared just in case. He would save them for a time when he was truly in danger.

After casually exchanging blows with Tsunade for a while, Amemiya Kenichi directly used the Body Replacement Jutsu and Transformation Jutsu to escape, leaving Tsunade so enraged that she cursed and smashed another shop into rubble.

Amemiya Kenichi saw clearly that the shop Tsunade smashed belonged to the Sarutobi clan.

That being said, up to this point, neither Amemiya Kenichi nor Tsunade had been injured. Instead, during Tsunade’s battle with the Konoha rogue ninja Amemiya Kenichi, she had ”accidentally” destroyed several shops.

And, quite coincidentally, they were all Sarutobi clan shops.

Amemiya Kenichi nearly burst out laughing.

He had not expected Tsunade to be such a straightforward person. When she was unhappy, she directly used him to vent her anger at the Third Hokage. Just looking at the destroyed shops, Amemiya Kenichi felt the Third Hokage would definitely cough up blood this time.

Still, when he thought of the conditions that old man had negotiated with his Shadow Clone, his teeth started itching with anger. If not for the fact that the Shadow Clone had already dispersed and the Third Hokage could arrive as backup at any time, he would have jumped back out and continued acting with Tsunade for a while longer.

Ideally, they would destroy every last black hearted Sarutobi clan shop.

But if all of them were completely destroyed, the happiest person would probably be the Third Hokage himself, because then he could openly allocate village funds to rebuild his family’s businesses again.

So Amemiya Kenichi escaped, leaving Konoha in a ”disheveled” state.

The surrounding villagers cheered excitedly, and Tsunade stood with her hands on her hips, politely waving to them.

”Tsunade, you really... hmm? Why are so many shops destroyed?” Hiruzen Sarutobi walked over with a smile.

He had just defeated the ”Orochimaru” who came to cause trouble in Konoha, so he came to check on Tsunade, but he had not expected the fighting here to be this intense.

Didn’t that brat say this was just a show, that he would act for a bit and then leave? Why had he fought Tsunade so fiercely?

And the more Hiruzen looked, the worse his expression became.

These completely ruined shops looked exactly like Sarutobi clan businesses, especially that largest hot spring establishment. That place was a money tree for the Sarutobi clan, bringing in a huge profit every month, and now it was completely gone, leaving behind only a giant trench.

”Heh heh, that little guy Amemiya Kenichi is pretty strong. I got a little serious,” Tsunade said. Seeing the old man’s constipated expression, her mood improved a lot.

The old man really was getting worse with age.

Hiruzen Sarutobi took a deep breath. His heart ached for these assets. Building houses was expensive, and Konoha did not have much money left right now.

Originally, Konoha still had some reserves. But after Tsunade returned, there was not much left, because her creditors had followed her back, and Tsunade had withdrawn a large amount of money at once to pay off her debts.

Danzo had strong opinions about that, but Hiruzen had tacitly approved it, because in Hiruzen’s eyes, Tsunade was actually a very good Hokage candidate, at least much better than that old man Danzo.

”Alright, then...” Hiruzen let out a deep sigh.

He knew Tsunade was venting her dissatisfaction and could only accept it.
