Chapter 267: Itachi and Sasuke, Almost Injured by a Prodigy

”Kenichi, our Uchiha Clan isn’t like that,” a helpless voice said.

Kenichi turned his head and saw Shisui, Itachi, and Sasuke walking over together. The three of them had come out as well.

”Ahem. I wasn’t talking about you three,” Kenichi said with a shrug.

Shisui, Itachi, and Sasuke were all undeniably good looking. There was nothing to criticize there.

Shisui did not look particularly striking in the anime, but in person, he was genuinely handsome. As for Itachi and Sasuke, there was no need to explain. They had charmed countless people even in animation, and in reality, their looks were even more startling.

You had to admit it, the Uchiha bloodline was impressive. At the very least, their appearance alone was top tier. In Kenichi’s previous life, they could have become celebrities or internet personalities without effort.

What Kenichi had really been referring to was Obito.

After all, Obito’s face was disfigured now. Once his face was ruined, his ”looks” were not exactly high enough to boast about. If anything, they were enough to stop children from crying at night.

Obito let out a chuckle.

Damn it. Why did he feel more and more like Kenichi was aiming at him?

Even so, Obito’s attention stayed on Shisui in front of him. Based on the intelligence Black Zetsu had compiled, the one who manifested Susanoo during the Uchiha rebellion in Konoha should have been Shisui.

But Obito had interacted with Shisui before. Shisui’s eyes were intact, and they should not be Mangekyo Sharingan.

So where did the eye he gave Kakashi go?

”Why did you suddenly think of coming here to see us?” Shisui asked Kenichi with curiosity.

His mood had been much better lately, and he smiled far more often.

Compared to living in Konoha’s muddy chaos, Shisui found his current life much more comfortable.

”I was just passing by,” Kenichi said.

His gaze slid toward Obito, who was squatting nearby with zero shame, openly listening in on everything like it was free intelligence. Kenichi smiled faintly.

He had noticed earlier how Obito kept watching Shisui. It looked like Obito really was here for Shisui.

Was it Shisui’s Mangekyo Sharingan?

Kenichi did not think Obito would go as far as trying to snatch Shisui’s eyes, especially since Obito never tried to take Itachi’s eyes in the original plot.

”Speaking of which, who is that?” Kenichi pointed at Obito, asking as if casually.

He wanted to see whether Shisui and the others knew who Obito really was. More accurately, he wanted to know what identity Obito was using to get close.

Shisui glanced at Obito and nodded slightly. He did remember the masked man.

The guy always wore a mask and never showed his face, but that was not rare in the shinobi world. Shisui watched him for a while earlier, then stopped caring.

Now, hearing Kenichi’s question, Shisui took another look at Obito.

Could there be something off about him? Otherwise, Kenichi would not have asked.

”Oh, I saw you talking to him and thought you knew him,” Shisui said. ”He’s Tobi. He came to our village to do business.”

Kenichi looked at Obito. Under the mask, Obito seemed a little tense.

Kenichi hesitated, then decided not to expose Obito’s identity here.

For one, he and Obito were still officially in the same organization.

More importantly, acting now would only make Obito target him earlier. Kenichi planned to use a different method to force Obito into his Kamui dimension.

”I heard his voice and thought he was a friend of mine,” Kenichi said with a wave. ”Guess I misheard.”

As he spoke, he reached out and lightly pinched Sasuke’s cheek, smiling.

Sasuke flinched and shrank back at first. But when he saw Itachi did not stop it, he reluctantly held still and let Kenichi do it.

Soft.

And smooth, too. Compared to the bitter, vengeful Sasuke of the future, this Sasuke was much cuter.

Kenichi chatted with Shisui and the others as he guided them a little farther away, to the other side where Obito would not be able to hear what came next.

”Shisui,” Kenichi asked, ”are you still shinobi now?”

Shisui blinked, confused by the question. ”Of course we are.”

Kenichi’s eyes shifted briefly to Itachi and Sasuke beside him. He wondered how these two unlucky kids would take what he was about to say.

Kenichi did not want to bring it up.

But he also could not avoid it.

If he kept silent, Itachi and Sasuke might grow up into useless people at this rate, and that would not do. Kenichi still had high hopes for them.

When Itachi and Sasuke were older, he could directly extract their genes, create clones, and then use those clones to cultivate Mangekyo Sharingan.

If that worked, could both of them awaken the Eternal Mangekyo?

That would be another pair of excellent combat assets.

”Then do you know what happened back in Konoha?” Kenichi asked quietly.

Shisui froze, then his expression tightened. ”Something happened?”

His voice turned tense.

Shisui knew Kenichi would not ask for no reason. If Kenichi was asking now, then something had happened in Konoha, and it was very likely connected to them.

”The Uchiha Clan launched a rebellion in Konoha,” Kenichi said with a sigh. ”The clan head, Fugaku, activated Susanoo and fought the Third Hokage, Danzo, and a group of Konoha’s clan heads.”

Kenichi paused for a heartbeat, then continued.

”He was captured. He’s already been executed.”

It really seemed like Shisui and the others had no idea.

Kenichi felt a bit helpless.

He had not wanted to say it so bluntly, but he did not expect Shisui and the others to genuinely know nothing about what happened in Konoha. This had happened a year ago.

They had escaped to live a quiet life, yes, but Kenichi had not expected them to become completely cut off from the world.

The Uchiha rebellion had caused a huge stir. The news spread through most of the shinobi villages.

Kenichi even knew Fugaku’s final fate.

His eyes were gouged out, and he was hung at Konoha’s entrance, used to warn other ambitious clans and to display Konoha’s military strength.

And the eyes taken from Fugaku were now in Orochimaru’s laboratory, sent by the Third Hokage. The Hokage wanted Orochimaru to see whether those Mangekyo Sharingan could be restored.

Footsteps stopped.

Kenichi turned around.

Shisui stared at him blankly, as if the words had not reached his mind yet.

Beside him, Itachi’s breathing grew heavy. His eyes turned completely red.

Sasuke stood off to the side, swaying slightly, dazed and dumbfounded.
