Chapter 129: Chapter 114: Death Omen (Part 2)

”Damn it!” He cursed softly, quickly taking out a clean cloth to press on the wound.

Norris sighed, stood up, and walked over to Andre: ”You’re really off your game, here, take this.”

He handed over a small bottle of Healing Potion.

”I’m fine, it’s just a small wound, no need to trouble you, Master Norris.” Andre waved his hand: ”It’ll stop bleeding soon.”

”It’s not for the small wound.” Norris said seriously:

”It’s for your state of mind. If you keep being so distracted, next time it might not just be a small cut on your finger.”

Andre forced a smile, took the potion, and dripped a drop onto the wound.

The wound healed quickly, but the worries in his heart couldn’t dissipate so easily.

At that moment, the door was flung open, and a small captain from the Law Enforcement Team rushed in, a tense expression on his face:

”Emergency situation! A Patrol Team found a corpse just on the outskirts of the North District, we need to deal with it immediately!”

Norris and Andre stood up at once.

”What’s going on?” Norris asked quickly, already beginning to gather necessary equipment.

”Carl, the Elementary Apprentice who often takes outer perimeter tasks.” The captain said succinctly:

”Looks like he was attacked by a Distorted Creature, there are obvious signs of distortion and contamination on the body.”

Andre’s heart sank hard.

Carl, he knew this person, and among their many fellow countrymen in the Faruk Kingdom, he was relatively familiar with him.

”A Distorted Creature?” Norris frowned: ”So close to the School’s boundary?”

”That’s right, and it seems Carl was almost back in the safe zone.” The captain said seriously: ”If he was just a bit earlier, he might have been safe. We must handle the corpse immediately, or it may cause further contamination.”

Andre quickly grabbed his equipment bag, which contained various tools and potions for emergency situations.

He knew that a corpse killed by a Distorted Creature would continue to emit contaminating aura around it.

If not handled in time, it would not only cause environmental damage but might also attract or spawn more Distorted Creatures.

”Let’s go, you come lend a hand too.” Norris was already suited up, gesturing for Andre to follow.

Andre swiftly followed the team out of the duty room, yet he realized that he might miss the Bloodline Activation Ritual he had arranged with Ron because of this.

.........

As the sun set, Ron added the last drop of reagent into the beaker, and the solution immediately turned from a deep red to a golden amber hue, exuding a captivating aroma.

”Perfect.” He nodded with satisfaction, carefully transferring the solution into a specially crafted Crystal Bottle:

”This is the final version of the Bloodline Activation Potion.”

Ailan stood by, watching the whole process.

Her leaves gently swayed: ”Master’s craftsmanship is becoming more refined.”

Ron smiled as he put away the Crystal Bottle:

”This is currently my most satisfying work. In theory, it should precisely guide the direction of bloodline activation while significantly reducing the risk of distortion.”

He looked out the window, the sunlight had turned into a warm red, and the afterglow of the setting sun draped the Black Mist Jungle in a golden-red veil.

”Strange, Andre should have arrived by now.”

He glanced at the clock hanging on the wall, frowning: ”He is always very punctual.”

Ron decided to relax a bit, turning to the bookshelf, he took down the book ’Alchemy Basics’ and started reading.

The knowledge he gained from this book last time had already significantly improved his Alchemy Skills, maybe reading a bit more could provide more inspiration.

”The core of Alchemy lies in understanding the essence of matter and rearranging its constituent elements...”

Ron recited softly, his fingers gently tracing the pages: ”Through specific processes and media, it’s possible to transform the form of matter, or even change its fundamental Attributes...”

As he delved deeper into the book, Ron felt a familiar sensation: knowledge was slowly sedimenting in his mind, forming new connections, just like pieces of a puzzle gradually fitting into a complete picture.

[Alchemy (Introductory) Experience Points + 1]

Indeed, Magic Potion Making and Alchemy have many commonalities; both focus on material changes and the flow of Energy, only differing in application and specific methods.

As a Professional Alchemist already proficient in Magic Potion Making, combined with the trait Extensive Knowledge, Ron displayed extraordinary learning efficiency when studying Alchemy.

Unknowingly, Ron had been reading for over half an hour, and his Experience Points in Alchemy had steadily increased to (Introductory 12/50).

He closed the book, rubbed his slightly tired eyes, and looked out the window again.

The sky was completely dark, and the Magic Crystal Lamp in the workshop automatically lit up, dispelling the indoor darkness. Yet Andre still hadn’t appeared.

”Something’s not right.” Ron murmured: ”Andre isn’t someone who easily ends up late or misses an appointment.”

Just as he was about to stand up to head to the Law Enforcement Team to inquire, Ailan’s voice suddenly appeared in the air:

”Master, someone is here. It’s Master Andre.”

A moment later, the urgent knocking on the door confirmed Ailan’s warning.

Ron quickly walked to the door and pulled it open.

Andre stood outside the door, his face full of fatigue and worry.

There were stains on his clothes, it seemed he’d just gone through some unpleasant events.

”I’m very sorry, Ron.” He started to apologize as soon as he entered: ”There was an emergency, and I had to take care of that first.”

”What happened?” Ron asked with concern, pouring Andre a cup of hot tea: ”You look very tired.”
