Chapter 127: Chapter 113: Chaos Cube (2)

She nodded to everyone, then started distributing the test papers: ”Please stay quiet and answer carefully. The test time is one hour.”

Ron took the test paper and quickly skimmed through it.

The content covered the basic theory of the magic circuit, core techniques for spiritual power stability, and an analysis of their relevance.

For general apprentices, these questions were undoubtedly quite challenging, but for Ron, who had already raised both skills to a skilled level, they seemed relatively simple.

He picked up the pen and began to answer; the tip of the pen moved smoothly across the paper without the slightest hesitation.

The concepts that once required repeated consideration had now integrated into his way of thinking, becoming instinctual understanding.

The last question in the theory part was especially complex, requiring students to analyze how to maintain the stability of a magic circuit under high pressure environments.

This required a comprehensive use of the core knowledge of both courses, along with personal practical experience.

After a moment’s thought, Ron picked up his pen and wrote:

”In high-pressure environments, magic circuits are prone to disorder, mainly due to spiritual wave causing the energy flow to lose control. The solution lies in constructing a ’buffer ring,’ which forms a secondary energy flow around the main circuit...”

He described in detail some techniques he discovered during magic construction practice, things not mentioned in regular textbooks, insights he gained through practical exploration.

Half an hour later, Ron had finished all the questions, becoming the first student to hand in the test paper.

Leia took his test paper, glanced over a few pages, a hint of surprise in her eyes but quickly regained her composure.

After the theory test, there was the practical operation session.

Students were taken to a special laboratory with various testing devices inside.

”The practical test is divided into three parts,” Eric announced:

”Magic circuit construction, maintenance of spiritual power stability, and comprehensive application of both. Each student will be tested in turn; please wait for your call in the waiting area.”

When it was Ron’s turn, he went to the test bench, facing a complex crystal device — an instrument specifically for testing magic circuit construction ability.

”Please try to construct a triple-ring magic circuit in the crystal and maintain stability for at least thirty seconds,” instructed Eric.

This was a highly challenging task for many students.

The triple-ring structure required precise control of three different frequencies of energy flow, with even slight carelessness leading to the collapse of the entire structure.

But Ron had already completed a more complex construction during the morning practice.

He easily extended his hands, channeling spiritual power into the crystal.

With the stability trait’s blessing, his magic control was more precise than before.

The crystal interior quickly manifested three perfect energy rings that interlaced at specific angles, forming a harmonious and unified whole.

The energy flowed smoothly within the rings, with almost no fluctuation.

Eric and Leia exchanged a glance, evidently surprised by Ron’s performance.

Thirty seconds passed, and Ron’s construction remained as stable as ever, showing no sign of degradation.

”That’s enough, very impressive,” Eric gestured for Ron to stop: ”Next is the spiritual power stability test.”

Leia took out a black cube and placed it in front of Ron:

”This is an alchemy item — ’Chaos Cube,’ it continuously releases disruptive waves, attempting to disturb your spiritual power. You need to move that small ball along a specific trajectory under such disturbance.”

She pointed to a small metal ball suspended in the air: ”The trajectory is already marked, and the duration is also thirty seconds.”

Ron nodded, focusing his attention.

As the test began, the black cube emitted irregular energy fluctuations, like a thousand people whispering simultaneously in his mind, trying to distract him.

In the past, this kind of interference might have turned his spiritual power control chaotic.

But now, with the trait’s enhancement, his control over the spiritual field within a specific range had risen to a new level.

He no longer tried to resist the disturbances but integrated them into his spiritual flow, then accurately filtered out those chaotic energies, retaining only the useful parts.

The small ball began to move along the predetermined path, its motion smooth and precise.

Even under the strongest interference waves, the trajectory showed no deviation at all.

After thirty seconds, the test ended.

Leia deactivated the Chaos Cube, her face unable to hide her surprise:

”Truly impressive, Ron. Your ability to control spiritual power has basically reached the level of an intermediate apprentice, possibly even surpassing many intermediate apprentices in the Law Enforcement Team.”

”The final test.”

Eric said: ”Comprehensive application, please construct a magic circuit and perform a simple elemental operation simultaneously, while resisting external interference.”

This was the most challenging part of the entire test, requiring students to apply all the skills from both courses simultaneously.

Ron took a deep breath and began constructing the internal magic circuit.

Meanwhile, the Chaos Cube was activated again, sending even stronger interference waves at him.

Under such pressure, he remained calm.

The internal magic circuit operated stably like precise gears, while externally, a mental shield was constructed to block most of the interference.

When everything was ready, Ron gently raised his hand, a faint light glowing at his fingertips.

This was a simple application of the light element, but casting it in such a complex environment tested the caster’s comprehensive ability.

The light was stable and bright, with no flickering or fluctuations, proving his magic control was nearly perfect.

After the test ended, Eric and Leia exchanged a glance, then took Ron aside.

”Ron, your performance far exceeded our expectations.”

Eric said in a low voice: ”Honestly, with your current level, you can completely skip the second phase of the course and go straight to the third phase.”

Leia nodded: ”Indeed. Your spiritual power control and magic circuit construction skills have already reached the level of many intermediate apprentices. Continuing with the foundational courses is a waste of time for you.”

Ron was slightly surprised: ”Does this comply with the school’s regulations?”

”Normally, the school indeed recommends students to complete each phase step by step.”

Eric explained: ”But for those exceptionally outstanding students, we have the right to make special arrangements.”

He smiled: ”Besides, you might have noticed the occasional personalized training we gave you recently? That was us evaluating your potential, and now it seems our judgment was correct.”

Leia added: ”After the third phase, outstanding students have the opportunity to study advanced content directly with official wizard-level masters. Given your talent and progress speed, it should be a great opportunity.”

Ron felt a surge of joy; skipping ahead meant he could access higher-level knowledge faster, exactly what he desired.

”Thank you both for your guidance and trust.” He said sincerely: ”I will cherish this opportunity and not disappoint your expectations.”

”No thanks needed.” Eric patted his shoulder:

”In fact, students like you who can show talent in multiple fields are very rare; we’re looking forward to your future achievements.”

As he left the testing room, Ron felt exceptionally lighthearted.

”Skipping directly to the third phase, and then with official wizards’ guidance...”

He mused to himself, eyes gleaming with determination: ”One step closer to true power.”

Sunlight filtered through the sparse canopy of the Black Mist Jungle, casting dappled shadows on the ground.
