Chapter 85: Chapter 83: I’ll Block Everything for You!

”A boon?” Ron was stirred, recalling her previous explanation:

When a student makes progress under a mentor’s guidance, the pure energy generated from this growth would feedback to the mentor, purifying accumulated spiritual contamination in the form of a ”boon.”

”My condition has indeed improved quite a bit compared to previous years,” Lady Allen tapped her smooth cheek lightly with her fingertip:

”Although I still can’t maintain this peak state for long periods, both the recovery frequency and duration have improved, which is why I could meet you today in this state.”

She shot Ron a meaningful glance:

”So, don’t worry about the scattered magic potion materials making me spend much; every step forward you make is the best reward for me.”

Ron bowed deeply, a warm current surging in his heart: ”I won’t let you down.”

”Of course, I believe you won’t.” Lady Allen took a few steps closer, those emerald green eyes staring into Ron’s, her gaze deepening:

”As for those who are eyeing you, you needn’t worry too much about them.”

Her voice lowered, yet carried more strength:

”Whether it’s Cynthia or that Oliver, who seems to be wearing a smiling mask, they wouldn’t dare to easily reach for you now.”

Seeing Ron’s surprised expression, Lady Allen chuckled lightly: ”There are many eyes and ears in the Black Mist Jungle. Such small stirrings are hard to escape my detection.”

She reached out and patted Ron’s shoulder gently: ”Focus on preparing for your assessments. No matter what unexpected situations arise, trust in your judgment and skills.”

As she spoke, a glint of coldness flashed in the Witch’s emerald eyes:

”Before breaking through to official... no, entering the Candidate Wizard sequence, you only need to focus on improving yourself. I, Old Allen, will naturally shield you from other matters...”

The power contained in these words sent a tremor through Ron’s heart.

Although usually strict, the aging Herb Store Manager, at this moment, exuded a presence that made Ron once again realize the powerful magic fluctuations that belonged to an Official Wizard when she was in her rejuvenated state.

”Thank you, madam.” Ron nodded solemnly, feeling much of the urgency in his heart ease.

”Alright, quickly take these materials back and practice well.”

Lady Allen smiled slightly, her young and beautiful face appearing even more enchanting under the light: ”If you have any questions, feel free to come to me anytime.”

When the young apprentice bowed slightly and left, he did not witness the scene unfolding after exiting the magic pharmacy...

The glamorous pink-haired Witch slowly exhaled, forcefully clutching the wound on her waist and abdomen, a look of extreme pain showing on her face.

.........

Back in his dormitory, Ron began attempting to improve the formula following Lady Allen’s suggestions.

The Awakening Potion with added Moon Dew indeed greatly enhanced its stability, maintaining effectiveness even at high temperatures.

As the practice deepened, his understanding of magic potion configuration reached a new height.

He found he could not only follow procedures to make magic potions but also adjust formulas in real-time according to subtle differences in environment and materials to ensure the best effect.

Every time he finished a day’s practice, he would use the Time Guardian Pocket Watch to reset his physical state and continue learning in peak form the next morning.

As the date of the Alchemist Certification Examination approached, Ron practiced various magic potion formulas taught by Lady Allen repeatedly every day.

He felt his skills improving steadily, growing more confident about the examination.

However, shutting himself in and focusing solely on Magic Potion Making for so long made him feel somewhat drained and listless.

Ron flipped through his plan book and decided to find something else to do during his repetitive review, just to clear his mind.

He had already made up his mind: with the next quarter approaching, it was just the right time to enroll in those fee-based courses at the School.

Enrolling in fee-based courses was not only for enhancing his own strength but also for expanding the breadth of his extraordinary knowledge as quickly as possible.

.........

In the morning, he organized his notes and reviewed the usage method of the Silver Wing Separator before stepping out of the dormitory.

The weather in the Black Mist Jungle was as gloomy as ever, with a rare ray of sunshine piercing through the thick clouds, forming a golden beam over the forest.

Ron saw this as a good omen, heading to the public teaching area of the School in a lighthearted mood.

The gray tower where the teaching area was located formed a stark contrast with the surrounding low buildings.

A notice hung at the entrance of the teaching area, with the names, times, and prices of various courses written in ancient Wizard language.

Ron did not rush in, instead carefully studying each item on the notice.

Recalling Trish’s suggestion, he finally decided to enroll in the ”Magic Circuit Optimization” and ”Spiritual Stability Techniques” basic courses.

Though these were just introductory foundation courses, they were the cornerstone for all advanced magic research; countless powerful wizards started with such courses.

”These two courses require a total of fifty Magic Stone Fragments...”

He touched the pouch at his waist, which held the Magic Stone Fragments he had painstakingly saved up.

”The price is a bit steep, but I hope the gains are worth the cost.”

Entering the teaching area lobby, a middle-aged man in a deep gray robe was sitting at the registration desk, expressionlessly organizing the documents on the table.

Seeing Ron approach, he looked up, scanning him quickly like a scanner.

”What do you need, apprentice?” His voice was flat and monotone, as if he had grown weary of all questions over the years.

”I’d like to enroll in the ’Magic Circuit Optimization’ and ’Spiritual Stability Techniques’ courses,” Ron replied politely.

The Intermediate Apprentice took out a hefty register and began to flip through it: ”Name?”

”Ron Ralph.”

His finger paused on a page, his brows furrowed slightly, then relaxed again.

”Ron Ralph... Origin: Faruk Kingdom, Elementary Apprentice...”

He mumbled to himself, then suddenly looked up, a rare hint of interest in his eyes.

”You’ve been listed on the ’Annual Observation List’ and marked as having ’Intermediate Potential.’”

The officer’s expression showed slight surprise, ”This is rare among Elementary Apprentices.”

Ron’s heart moved, suspecting it might be related to Lady Allen’s recommendation: ”I’m not quite sure what that means?”

”It means you can enjoy a discount on basic courses.”

The officer lowered his head again, opening another booklet: ”The two courses originally required fifty Magic Stone Fragments; for you, it’s only forty.”

Ron smiled slightly; getting a discount was undoubtedly a good thing.

He took out his pouch from his waist and counted out forty Magic Stone Fragments, placing them on the table.

The translucent fragments glimmered faintly under the light.

”Fortunately, new sessions for both courses are starting this afternoon.”
