Junior Sister, I Really Have to Control You

Chapter 51: Chapter 34: Soul Tempering Technique ”Heart Seal Scripture

”Are you... crying tears of joy, Junior Martial Uncle?” Li Yinsheng asked.

”I suppose so,” Junior Martial Uncle Jiang said with a soft chuckle. ”I thought I would always be a burden to you. I never expected you to be a cultivation prodigy.

”With you here, Xuanzhen Temple will certainly not be disbanded.”

Li Yinsheng smiled. ”Naturally. At the end of next year, during the Zhengyang Dao Examination, I will definitely bring back an A Class.”

”Don’t get carried away!” Junior Martial Uncle Jiang poked him in the forehead again. ”Why fight for an A Class? Among the Cultivators vying for an A Class, there is no shortage of newly advanced Daoists. How could it be that easy to compete against them?

”For you, getting a B Class and inheriting the position of Temple Master within the Dharma Vein will be good enough.”

Earlier, when explaining what had happened to his Junior Martial Uncle, Li Yinsheng honestly didn’t know when to slip in the fact that he was already a Daoist. In the end, he simply hadn’t mentioned it.

Soon after, Junior Martial Uncle Jiang shook her head. ”However, given your age and talent, you will absolutely not just inherit the position of Temple Master. I’m afraid the entire Dharma Vein will attach immense importance to you.

”When the time comes, giving up Xuanzhen Temple and taking the opportunity to join the Dharma Vein might be a better choice for you.”

Li Yinsheng shook his head with a smile. ”Let’s leave the future for the future. There’s still over a year until the next Dao Examination.”

”Mhm.” Junior Martial Uncle Jiang nodded.

”By the way, Junior Martial Uncle, I happen to have a matter regarding the Daoist Temple that I wanted to ask you about,” Li Yinsheng said.

”What is it?” Junior Martial Uncle Jiang asked.

”I was previously looking through the journals left behind by the senior Daoists of our temple.” Li Yinsheng carefully weighed his words. ”All of their journals mentioned that there is a type of Cultivation Technique in this world for tempering the Soul, but I’ve never found it in the Scripture Pavilion. Does our temple really have this Cultivation Technique?”

Junior Martial Uncle Jiang paused, seemingly surprised that Li Yinsheng would ask this question.

”You noticed that?” Junior Martial Uncle Jiang shook her head. ”Cultivation Techniques for tempering the Soul are the top secrets of every Daoist Temple. Moreover, only Daoists can cultivate them. It would be useless for you to obtain one right now.”

Li Yinsheng was just about to take this opportunity to tell his Junior Martial Uncle that he was already a Daoist.

But Junior Martial Uncle Jiang immediately continued, ”However, ’top secret’ or not, you are the master of Xuanzhen Temple now anyway. Since you asked, there is naturally nothing I can’t tell you.

”As for Cultivation Techniques for tempering the Soul, our temple does indeed have one. To be precise, we used to have one.”

Li Yinsheng was taken aback.

”Used to?” He quickly caught on. ”Are you referring to the lost Town Guardian Technique, the ’Profound Truth Treasure Radiance Heart Seal True Explanation’?”

”That’s right,” Junior Martial Uncle Jiang nodded. ”This Town Guardian Technique is actually divided into two volumes.

”One is the ’Treasure Illumination Scripture’ for Qi Refining, which can be cultivated by those below the Daoist realm. The other is the ’Heart Seal Scripture’, which is exclusively used to temper the Soul and can only be cultivated by Daoists.

”Whether one cultivates the ’Treasure Illumination Scripture’ depends on their personal aptitude. Among the Daoists our temple has produced, the majority made the ’Treasure Illumination Scripture’ their Major Cultivation, but there have also been those who majored in other Cultivation Techniques.

”For instance, my Major Cultivation is a Sword Scripture. Although its grade is inferior to the ’Treasure Illumination Scripture’, it suits me better.”

Li Yinsheng recalled that in those seniors’ journals, there were indeed people who cultivated other Cultivation Techniques.

”Then the ’Heart Seal Scripture’...” Li Yinsheng asked.

”The ’Heart Seal Scripture’ is the only Cultivation Technique in the temple capable of Soul Tempering and Essence Refining, so every Daoist would concurrently cultivate it,” Junior Martial Uncle Jiang said.

”Including you, Junior Martial Uncle?” Li Yinsheng’s eyes lit up.

”Naturally.” Junior Martial Uncle Jiang nodded.

Li Yinsheng almost hugged his Junior Martial Uncle and planted a kiss on her cheek.

When he had just heard his Junior Martial Uncle say that the only Soul Tempering Technique was the lost Town Guardian Technique, his heart had skipped a beat. However, he quickly realized that since it was the sole Soul Tempering Technique and his Junior Martial Uncle was a Daoist, there was no reason she hadn’t practiced it. As expected, that was exactly the case.

”Then... Junior Martial Uncle, do you still remember the ’Heart Seal Scripture’?” Li Yinsheng asked.

”Do I look like someone with a poor memory to you?” Junior Martial Uncle Jiang retorted.

”Could you teach it to me, then?” Li Yinsheng pressed.

”Yinsheng, Soul Tempering Techniques can only be cultivated by Daoists. If you haven’t reached the Daoist realm, even if you obtain it, you wouldn’t grasp its methods and would find it difficult to cross its threshold,” Junior Martial Uncle Jiang said, shaking her head. ”Unless it’s someone who happens to possess a Superior Root Device related to the Divine Soul, they might be able to attempt cultivating it before becoming a Daoist, but such people are far too rare...”

Li Yinsheng was just about to shout that he was a Daoist and had been holding it in for ages when Junior Martial Uncle Jiang spoke again.

”But since my martial nephew is curious, I will teach it to you. Since you can’t cultivate the ’Heart Seal Scripture’ before becoming a Daoist anyway, it won’t harm you,” she said with a smile. ”Just remember not to spend any effort on it, as that would be a pointless waste of your time and energy. Once you break through and become a Daoist, you will naturally be able to cultivate it.”

Li Yinsheng sighed in his heart, realizing his Junior Martial Uncle was truly as accommodating as ever.

Since he had already obtained the Cultivation Technique, it wouldn’t be too late to tell his Junior Martial Uncle that he was a Daoist a little later. He wanted to let her digest the events of the past few days first. After all, a Daoist in his early twenties was still a bit too shocking to the world. He guessed that even the Zhengyang Dharma Vein had never produced such a heaven-defying genius. If he told his Junior Martial Uncle now, he was genuinely afraid she would cry tears of joy again, kick him out like she just did, and cry for another hour or two before teaching him the ’Heart Seal Scripture’. Moreover, his Junior Martial Uncle’s body was currently weak, and medicine was useless. If he stimulated her twice in a row, she would likely suffer from insomnia tonight.

Therefore, after a moment’s thought, Li Yinsheng simply nodded. ”Don’t worry, Junior Martial Uncle, I’m just curious.”

Of course, because he was so curious, once he learned it, he fully intended to practice it relentlessly for several decades in one go; by then, he certainly wouldn’t be curious anymore.

”Come on, lean in close,” Junior Martial Uncle Jiang crooked a finger at him.

”There’s no need for that, Junior Martial Uncle. It’s just the two of us here,” Li Yinsheng deadpanned.

Junior Martial Uncle Jiang didn’t force the issue and began to explain the ’Heart Seal Scripture’ to Li Yinsheng.

Li Yinsheng listened with rapt attention. Even though his Sea of Consciousness was far more stable than that of a newly advanced Daoist, he had never been exposed to knowledge regarding the Sea of Consciousness. Therefore, he had always been somewhat clueless about many subtle details of his own Sea of Consciousness. Now that he was receiving the ’Heart Seal Scripture’ from his Junior Martial Uncle, he immediately felt a sense of sudden enlightenment.

Furthermore, her explanation of the ’Heart Seal Scripture’ included her personal cultivation experiences and insights. Her detailed teaching left Li Yinsheng deeply satisfied.

Meanwhile, Junior Martial Uncle Jiang, who was explaining the ’Heart Seal Scripture’ to Li Yinsheng, was also deeply satisfied.

She was teaching him the ’Heart Seal Scripture’ firstly because, as she had said, the ’Heart Seal Scripture’ was impossible to cultivate for Cultivators who had yet to become Daoists. It posed no harm, so there was no need to worry that learning it early would negatively affect him. Moreover, given her martial nephew’s talent, becoming a Daoist was inevitable. There was no harm in passing it on to him in advance; he would need it sooner or later anyway.

But besides that, there was another very important point.

Lately, Li Yinsheng had been busy supervising Mu Xiaoyu’s cultivation. Although she didn’t understand why Li Yinsheng was paying so much attention to this ordinary girl, she realized that the time her martial nephew spent keeping her company recently was slightly less than before. Even though she hadn’t wanted to delay his important affairs in the past and wouldn’t let him stay with her for too long each day, his visits now were definitely just a tiny bit shorter than before.

This was absolutely not her imagination!

And now that she was teaching and explaining the ’Heart Seal Scripture’ to Yinsheng, he would have to stay the entire time. While this Cultivation Technique itself wasn’t very long, combined with her personal cultivation experiences and insights, she estimated it would take until this evening, or even nightfall, to finish explaining it all.

In other words, her martial nephew would have to stay with her for the entire day.
