Radiant Dragon’s Otherworldly Reincarnation

Chapter 146. Why are there delinquents at the Academy? (2)

“That was moving.”

“So that’s an Aura Blade. I’ve really seen it for the first time.”

“Someday, I too…”

The first-years were all extremely excited.

The promotional effect of the Aura Blade was certainly tremendous.

No one was paying any mind to the strangeness of the hastily concluded entrance ceremony.

And so, the first-years were guided to their dormitories.

Before they entered the dorms, the upperclassmen came and spoke.

“From now on, we have something to distribute to you. It is a necessary item for survival at the Academy, so make sure everyone gets one.”

What the seniors handed out to the first-years was a small booklet, smaller than the palm of a hand.

On the cover of the book…

Guide to Handling a Mad Dog.

72 things he hates.

…was written.

The first-years who received it wore dazed expressions.

One of them spoke.

“Senior, what on earth is this?”

To the first-year who couldn’t hold back his curiosity and asked, a senior replied.

“Someday, no, it won’t be long before you find out.”

“……”

“For now, just think about memorizing it as quickly as possible. And once you’ve memorized it all, be sure to burn it.”

“……”

The first-years could not understand.

But the seniors’ gazes were extremely serious, so in the end, all the first-years received the booklet without exception.

* * *

“Twenty-seventh, being told to apologize when you’ve done nothing wrong.”

“Twenty-eighth, talking a lot before a fight.”

“Twenty-ninth… What on earth is this?”

Jillian closed the booklet and let out a sigh.

He couldn’t understand at all why he was being told to memorize this.

He wondered if it was some kind of code, but that wasn’t it either.

Additionally, the empty spaces in the middle were marked with (Unconfirmed), and it was also written that one should report it upon discovery.

He couldn’t understand at all what this was and why the seniors were telling him to memorize it.

“Is it a code that symbolizes something?”

He was memorizing it diligently because he was told to, but it felt very unsettling.

It was then.

Knock knock.

Someone knocked on Jillian’s dormitory door.

“Who is it?”

When no answer came, Jillian frowned and opened the door himself.

And what was revealed when he opened the door was…

“Hey, don’t we have something to settle?”

There, the other first-year students with whom Jillian had had a conflict were gathered.

“Persistent bastards. Haven’t you learned your lesson yet?”

When Jillian spoke with a smirk, the guys got worked up.

Among them, Yulian, who had a bandage on his face from being punched, spoke menacingly.

“Come out. You wouldn’t want to cause a disturbance in the dormitory, would you?”

“Fine. I’ll take you on anytime.”

Jillian grabbed his sword and followed them.

* * *

Jillian was confident.

Although there were five opponents, from the one time they had fought, he hadn’t seen anyone stronger than himself.

So even when they called him out, he could follow without any hesitation.

However…

“Keuk…”

He had not anticipated a situation like this.

Right now, Jillian was standing with over ten wounds all over his body, breathing heavily.

He was wounded enough for his uniform to be stained red.

And the ones who had done this to Jillian were not Yulian and his companions from a little while ago.

The opponent was…

“You’re quite skilled for your age. But you still have a long way to go.”

A man in a butler’s uniform, holding a longsword in one hand and stroking his mustache with the other.

This very man was Yulian’s opponent.

This butler, who had come as Yulian’s personal attendant, was facing Jillian.

Against this man, who was presumed to be at least a 4-star level practitioner, the 2-star Jillian was struggling badly.

“Hoo hoo hoo. As expected of Serbey.”

“Amazing, isn’t he? He’s just toying with him.”

“It’s also because the opponent is such a pushover, isn’t it?”

“Look at him struggling.”

Yulian and his gang were snickering as they watched Jillian get beaten.

‘Cowardly bastards…’

Jillian glared at his opponent and spoke.

“With that skill, you’re cleaning up after trash like them? Aren’t you ashamed?”

“Hahaha. If I receive money, I should be worth the price, shouldn’t I?”

“You piece of trash!”

Jillian shouted and rushed at his opponent.

Although he shouted roughly, the swordsmanship he used was a neat and tidy orthodox style.

The butler named Serbey, facing that sword, grinned and moved his own sword.

“Hmm…. Still young.”

The opponent parried Jillian’s desperate attacks without even moving from his spot.

Their swords clashed fiercely in the air, but Jillian’s sword could not break through the opponent’s defense.

Rather…

“Your knees are weak.”

“Keuk…”

“You need to pay attention to your left shoulder.”

“Damn it…”

The number of wounds on Jillian’s body increased with the sharp counterattacks that flew in from here and there.

Seeing Jillian continue to charge without giving up, the opponent spoke.

“It’s about time to end this. Farewell.”

And for the first time, he stepped forward and closed the distance into Jillian’s range.

Jillian hastily tried to withdraw his sword and take a defensive stance, but before that, the opponent’s sword moved in a blur, simultaneously slashing five spots on his body as it passed.

“Keoheok…”

From that attack, Jillian’s strength completely drained from his body, and he collapsed to the floor.

And the opponent looked down at Jillian and spoke arrogantly.

“If you try to force yourself up, your tendons might snap. If you wish to continue your life as a swordsman, I advise you to stop here.”

“Keeuk…”

Jillian, collapsed on the floor, glared at his opponent with resentful eyes.

And once Jillian was completely incapacitated, the trash who had only been watching from behind stepped forward.

“Well done, Serbey. As expected of a 4-star mercenary.”

“Thank you for the undeserved praise, Young Master.”

“Right. I’ll speak well of today’s matter to my father. Now then…”

Crunch!

“Keuk…”

The one named Yulian stomped on Jillian’s back.

And he spoke to the groaning Jillian.

“Shall we begin the education now?”

And the guy grabbed Jillian by the hair, lifted him up, and said.

“Do you get it now? What happens when a bug like you dares to resist a real noble like me? Huh?”

“…Uh…”

“Huh? What was that?”

“…m… uh…”

At the small, dying voice, Yulian brought his ear close to Jillian’s lips.

And then…

“Ptooey!”

“Keuk…”

Jillian unhesitatingly spat at Yulian, and Yulian’s expression crumpled as he was hit squarely.

And Jillian, with a sneer on his lips, said.

“I told you to go eat shit, you fucking bastard.”

“How dare you, you bastard!”

Yulian roughly stomped on Jillian.

But even as he was being stomped, Jillian’s gaze did not waver in the slightest.

Rather, he glared with eyes filled with even stronger malice and said.

“Just you wait. This isn’t the end. Expect it and wait, because I will repay what you cowards did to me today more than ten times over to all of you.”

Seeing those eyes full of malice, the corner of Yulian’s mouth slowly rose.

“Oh, really? Then that won’t do. We should nip it in the bud right now, shouldn’t we? Serbey.”

“Yes, Young Master.”

Yulian gave an order to the butler behind him.

“Cut all the tendons in this bastard’s arms and legs.”

“Young Master. That will make things bigger, you know?”

“It’s fine. Our family can handle burying a guy like this whole.”

“It would be problematic within the Academy.”

“I said it’s fine.”

Serbey frowned.

This naive brat who knows nothing of the world might not know, but there was no way it would be fine.

The discipline at the Academy was famous for being strict to begin with, but the position of the Knight Faculty, whose prestige had recently skyrocketed, was not something Yulian’s family could do anything about.

To put it bluntly, even if only the head professor of the Knight Faculty, Professor Leyte, stepped up, he could hold Yulian’s entire family responsible.

However…

‘Well, what do I care?’

He was currently playing the part of a butler, but he was originally a mercenary.

As long as he could get paid, he couldn’t care less what happened to Yulian’s family.

“In the end, it’s just that you’re unlucky.”

He fiddled with his mustache and drew the longsword from his waist.

And approaching the pale-faced Jillian, he said.

“If you’re lucky, you might be able to hold a fork and knife with your own hands.”

“Damn it…”

Jillian tried to escape this crisis, but he couldn’t see any way out.

Was his future going to be ruined less than a day after enrolling in the Academy?

And because of trash like this?

He felt like crying out of frustration.

But then…

“What the? Why are people here?”

Someone’s voice was heard.

Hoping against hope, he looked, and there was…

“This is the place I staked out to drink, so why the hell are you guys making a fuss here? Huh?”

…a drunkard delinquent.

‘Why is there a delinquent at the Academy?’

‘Why is there a delinquent at the Academy?’

Everyone had the same thought.

And that was extremely natural.

The man staggering over with a bottle in one hand was, no matter how you looked at it, a drunken delinquent.

The only confusing thing was, why was that delinquent wearing the Knight Faculty uniform, and why did the color of his badge indicate he was a fourth-year?

It didn’t make sense.

Just then, the delinquent swaggered over and said.

“Judging by the badge color, you’re first-years.”

He glanced at the juniors once, then let out a long yawn and said with disinterest.

“This is my drinking spot, so you guys go play somewhere else.”

“Wha…. What?”

“Shh. Shh. Get lost.”

The delinquent’s action of waving his hand as if shooing away annoying peddlers was enough to piss anyone off.

At that, Yulian stepped forward and said.

“Senior. I apologize, but we would appreciate it if you, not us, would get lost.”

“……Me?”

The delinquent pointed at himself with his finger and said.

The delinquent, with an expression that said, ‘Did you just tell me to get lost?’, was met with Yulian’s smirk as he spoke.

“Yes. You’re a senior in name, so wouldn’t it be better for you to go quietly while we’re still willing to save your face?”

At that, Yulian’s other companions snickered and chimed in.

“That’s right.”

“If you don’t back down now, your senior face is going to be shattered to pieces.”

“The standards at the Academy have really dropped. How did a guy like that make it to the fourth year?”

“Kekeke. Isn’t it because of connections?”

To the first-years, the delinquent before them was clearly a loser, a piece of trash who had fallen behind in the Academy’s fierce competition.

Naturally, they felt no respect and no fear.

Rather, compared to themselves, who would walk a solid path as elites, a piece of trash like that was nothing…

Pow!

It was at that moment.

One of the snickering guys was hit on the head with a bottle and collapsed to the floor.

And the opponent took another swig from the bottle and said.

“Where do you brats get off being so impudent? A junior being a smartass and getting in my face is the sixty-second thing I hate. Huh?”

What is this? This line sounds familiar from somewhere.
