Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

As a senior college student, Wu Chang’s memories of primary school have become blurred.

Back then, he was too young to have strict academic expectations from his family. He only distinctly remembers three things from primary school.

Eating snacks in class, not doing homework, and the frail and sickly physical education teacher.

Having been accustomed to burly men, black and muscular with chest muscles larger than the language teacher’s, who complained about not feeling well every few days, young Wu Chang aspired to the profession of a physical education teacher.

Other than these, his impression of primary school life was not very vivid.

But one thing is certain, during his primary school years, the surrounding environment was very safe, and such heinous acts as now would not happen.

In a dark corner of the old school building that Teacher Mavira mentioned.

A boy in a primary school uniform, with a head several times larger than a normal person’s, was being threatened with violence because of his appearance.

Left hook, right hook, knee strike, elbow strike, followed by a throat lock and punch.

The assailant’s movements were fluid and smooth, as if ignoring the plea on the boy’s face, without the slightest hesitation.

The violent incidents happening at Nokes School were terrifying, but fortunately, Wu Chang was the assailant.

He straddled the giant-headed monster, punching it twice on its half-meter wide head, causing the big-headed monster to grimace in pain, revealing a mouth full of shark-like sharp teeth and a throat as black as the abyss.

Wu Chang punched into the big-headed monster’s mouth, breaking five or six of its teeth, and threatened in a low voice:

”Speak, who sent you here, what do you want?”

The story goes back half an hour earlier when Wu Chang heard rumors about the old school building and decided to explore it.

Unlike True Self wandering aimlessly last night, they had a specific goal, arranging a mystical ceremony around the old school building before their action, and Wu Chang even called Erin along.

Erin could transform into the True Divine Body at any time. Even under the suppression of the dungeon plane, the stats in her divine form were still high enough to crush most dangers.

With Wu Chang’s assistance, not just the hidden things in the old school building, they could level the entire place if they wished.

The two carefully entered the old school building and searched inside and out but found nothing strange as Teacher Mavira mentioned.

Wu Chang and Erin opened up their senses but didn’t detect anything abnormal.

Just as they were about to temporarily give up, Wu Chang, through the old school building’s window, saw a strange thing mingling among the students during their recess free time.

The thing wore a Nokes Primary School uniform but had a head inflated like a balloon. When passing by lower grade students, it would reveal a mouthful of sharp teeth and drool like blood.

Such an oddly conspicuous presence mingled among the students, yet no one noticed it, as if it didn’t exist at all.

Wu Chang could confirm that there was absolutely no such entity among the Nokes Primary School students.

Coincidentally, a mystical ceremony was arranged around the old school building to conceal any commotion, so Wu Chang pulled the big-headed monster into the old school building for a friendly exchange.

From the big-headed monster, he could only see cruelty and brutality, sensing not a trace of goodwill.

To show his sincerity and friendliness, he greeted the other in the way the big-headed monster liked.

However, judging from the outcome, perhaps his force wasn’t heavy enough, making communication somewhat laborious.

”Woo woo...”

The big-headed monster whimpered in pain, with thick black tears streaming from the corners of its eyes.

”The force isn’t enough to convey the message to you, is it?”

Wu Chang’s eyes flashed with excitement as he took out a baseball bat pilfered from the sports storeroom, ready to give the boy a couple of hits.

Standing in the distance, Erin looked on with reluctance, softly saying, ”Wu Chang, I think it might not be able to speak.”

The big-headed monster frantically nodded upon hearing Erin’s words, seemingly eager to express that it indeed could not speak.

Wu Chang slammed the baseball bat beside the big-headed monster’s ear, leaned down to look at it, and asked, ”You really can’t speak?”

The big-headed monster continued to nod.

Wu Chang showed a look of regret, ”Then you’re useless to me.”

Bam!

Fifteen minutes later, at the back gate of Nokes Primary School, Wu Chang dragged the barely alive big-headed monster, tossing it to the arriving True Self.

True Self grabbed the big-headed monster instantly, refining it and devouring its life force.

In front of True Self appeared Power +4, bringing the Strength Attribute to 70 points.

Judging from the increased attribute value, the strength of the big-headed monster wasn’t much inferior to that of the centipede doll.

Judging from the big-headed monster’s behavior earlier, it didn’t seem to harbor clear malice towards any target, as if it inadvertently walked into the school.

What was attracting it?

Was it Nokes Primary School, or Amber?

Wu Chang took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and recalled the events of the past two days.

The Cursed Dungeon, with plane rules suppressing attributes, and further suppression of perception within Nokes Primary School.

In other dungeons, both he and Erin were very perceptive of the existence of monsters, but when the big-headed monster entered Nokes Primary School, they were oblivious until it was close enough and its appearance was striking enough that Wu Chang noticed it.

Replace it with the Mirror Killer, or those eerie monsters in the old school building, and Wu Chang and Erin would be hard-pressed to sense their presence even nearby.

The depths of Nokes Primary School were more profound than he thought. He’d have Miles take a closer look into any suspicious aspects of this place.

As Wu Chang dispelled the mystical ceremony around the old school building and left with Erin, they happened to run into Amber.
