Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Before entering the dungeon, Wu Chang imagined many possible plot developments.

Because players’ starting points in the dungeon are together, and the Four Major Organizations arranged many members to enter and take positions in the dungeon, it’s highly possible that they would find Lin Jiang before the dungeon officially started.

As soon as the dungeon begins, and the safety zone is eliminated, they would swarm him and take down Lin Jiang directly.

Just like in the Hymn Company’s dungeon, where the Iron Armor Corps took down random players right at the start.

But plans can’t keep up with changes, and Wu Chang was speechless as he looked at the crowded safety zone.

In a dungeon that was originally for fifteen people, now at least a hundred players were crammed in.

The Unity Order used by Lin Jiang not only turned his Life Path Cube channel into a public one but also directly increased the number of participants allowed in the dungeon, expanding the fifteen-person dungeon to a hundred-person one.

Given the style of the Abyssal Game, it’s evident without thinking that with so many more players, the dungeon’s difficulty would definitely rise as well. It might not be six or seven times more difficult, but three or four times is inevitable.

In the evaluation by Hou Jingchuan, the Cursed Dungeon’s original difficulty level was already as bizarre as an S-Level dungeon. With the difficulty skyrocketing, it might be even tougher than an S-Level by a notch or two.

The safety zone was set in an indoor basketball court, with one hundred players inside. Most of them were bewildered, shivering as they looked at the tips on their Attribute Panel, afraid of the notorious A-Level near-chaos dungeon.

Another portion of them clearly knew the inside story and came prepared.

Among them were familiar faces to Wu Chang, with Booker, Colton, and Veronica from the Hymn Company, against whom he had ranked before, also entering the dungeon.

After a rough scan, besides him, the number of obvious players the Four Major Organizations had arranged in was about ten.

Although they weren’t few, they didn’t dare to speak up, only sneaking around in the crowd trying to find the trace of Lin Jiang.

The attribute suppression characteristic of the Cursed Dungeon significantly narrows the gap between players from the Four Major Organizations and ordinary players, and combined with the 90% damage reduction between players, the difference in strength becomes much smaller.

When the strength gap is small enough, battles between players become indistinguishable from ordinary group fights. At this stage, numbers become the decisive factor for victory or defeat.

The players currently in the safety zone mostly followed Lin Jiang’s call, aiming to break the Four Major Organizations’ monopoly on quality dungeons.

If they expose their identities as members of the Four Major Organizations, whether it’s because the other players fear the Organizations’ retaliation or are angry about their secrecy, they would naturally regard them as adversaries.

At that point, it wouldn’t be about subduing Lin Jiang within an hour in the safety zone; not being subdued themselves would count as good luck.

The people from the Four Major Organizations could only endure for now, waiting for the players to scatter and for Lin Jiang to be alone, to then let Lin Jiang know what a backhand is.

The effects of the Cursed Dungeon are significant for ordinary players, and not insignificant for Wu Chang as well.

Even with full activation of the Master of Breaking the Game and the strength boost from the Sea Giant, his Attribute Panel was still somewhat meager.

Life: 12 (8)

Power: 20.4 (8)

Agility: 8.25 (5.5)

Endurance: 9 (6)

Energy: 22.5 (15)

Inspiration: 16

Will: 23

(Note: Values in parentheses are attributes before boosts.)

Compared to other players, he still has combat power far beyond the ordinary, especially in power and energy. If the form of the Abyssal Python transformation is activated, the energy can reach as high as 38.

His greatest advantage is still Will.

All players entering the dungeon have the same main quest number two: Stay clear-headed and do not let your Will drop below 5.

Within the Cursed Dungeon, the Will deducted by the first three attacks can be recovered through rest and the use of items.

But after the third time, if Will is deducted again due to attacks, main quest number two will directly fail, and the lower the Will value, the higher the intensity of the cursed attacks.

Among the players present, none in the Desolate Realm had set their Will above 50 points, which doesn’t directly affect combat power.

This means that apart from Wu Chang, everyone else has a Will of only 5 points, while he has 23 points.

Both the margin for error and resistance to mental curses are far ahead.

While recalling the information given by Hou Jingchuan and thinking about how to first complete the main line, his Attribute Panel suddenly flashed a prompt announcing a message received.

He opened the message to find it recorded relevant information about the Cursed Dungeon. Although the precision of the intelligence was much lower than what Hou Jingchuan provided and the range was not as wide, it still explained and analyzed the basic mechanisms of the dungeon and how to survive in the early stages in detail.

From the reactions of surrounding players, this was a universally sent group message.

Involving a lot of confidential information, it shocked even Wu Chang that it was so easily made public.

But after thinking it over, he realized that Lin Jiang’s move was actually the right choice.

Lin Jiang spent such a large price to get a group of obstacles in to cover him and stop the actions of the Four Major Organizations, so their greatest function must be utilized, and they cannot be turned into mere cannon fodder.

Without the strategy he broadcasted, over eighty solo players would likely lose 90% of their numbers within three days upon entering the dungeon, making it impossible for him to stay hidden.

Amid the exclamations, the protective shield of the safety zone dissipated, and the dungeon officially began.

The players, without pausing, swarmed out of the sports arena.

While looking for Lin Jiang, the members of the Four Major Organizations also had to hide their identities to avoid being discovered by Lin Jiang.

Moreover, before entering the dungeon, they received notifications that the main force of this operation was someone else, and they were only in charge of assisting and focusing on self-preservation.
