Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

On the offering table lay thirteen artifacts filled with historical aura, each one a national treasure of Gao Mu Country.

Some of them were taken by Jin Canyun when he left, while others were placed here before.

Among the thirteen artifacts, the square bronze plate suspected to be the Sun Immortal Seal was placed in the central position.

As the Mystical Array activated, a faint white smoke rose from the heads of the villagers seated in meditation, blending into the twelve artifacts except the bronze plate.

The artifacts vibrated softly, emitting a hum like that of a tuning fork.

The sound resonated within the cave, and instead of diminishing due to the echo, it grew stronger under the influence of the Sun Immortal Seal.

Along with the humming, the cave walls cracked open, and twelve billows of smoke surged from the fissures, absorbing the white vapor over the villagers’ heads, transforming into monstrously terrifying smoke-like shapes.

These twelve monsters were the Twelve Ghost Generals of the Ghost Army under the command of the Ghost King back then.

The monsters all bore human faces, and if one were to match these faces to mythological illustrations, a faint resemblance could be found with famous ancient generals from Gao Mu Country.

Witnessing the formation of the Twelve Ghost Generals, Jin Canyun’s face lit up with joy, and he exclaimed excitedly, ”Good, good, good, it worked indeed!”

The arrangements in Tan Mountain began long ago.

The White Cloud Mountain Range is the Divine Mountain of Gao Mu Country, and Tan Mountain is its Holy Mountain. Through prolonged conferral of faith, it stored substantial Power of Faith, catalyzing a presence akin to the Mountain God.

The Mountain God’s status was similar to that of the early Sea God General, perhaps even worse.

If, like the Sea God General, the Mountain God received enlightenment from the Martial Star Monarch, it could awaken consciousness, becoming a True God.

Unfortunately, it encountered neither the Martial Star Monarch nor Leman.

The followers of the New Cosmos Sect had long been prying energy from the Mountain God’s body through Mystical Ceremony to nurture the organization’s leaders.

The Extraordinary Abilities within the bodies of Zheng Family father and daughter, Jin Canyun, and Song Zhenxian were all drawn from the blood of the Mountain God, and it was through Tan Mountain’s power that Leman’s other eye descended by breaking the Plane barrier.

The Power of Faith accumulating in Tan Mountain was exceedingly abundant, and despite the New Cosmos Sect’s consumption and collection, only one-tenth was depleted.

According to the initial plan, the New Cosmos Sect would sacrifice the Star Jump to complete the Earthly Divine Kingdom. After Leman’s descent, He would come to Tan Mountain to devour the remaining force.

By then, Leman’s projection would not only gain considerable strength but also be recognized as a True God, breaking the Plane barrier’s limitations.

Should it reach that point, not just Wu Chang amending the Earthly Divine Kingdom for Erin’s projection descent, even Erin herself could not compete with Leman.

By that time, Leman would use the Silent Route as a springboard to gradually erode the Desolate Realm, and if He ventured into the World Dungeon, the Four Major Organizations and Bright Society would be of no consequence.

Unfortunately, Leman’s projection did not survive to return to ground, leaving the New Cosmos Sect without follow-up.

Initially, the New Cosmos Sect attempted negotiations with various parties, but seeing Cui Chengze subdue Zheng Chengxun, and Zheng Chengxun being suicided in prison, Jin Canyun couldn’t sit still.

He knew that if dragged on, the New Cosmos Sect would be gradually dismantled by Cui Chengze, losing all hope of reversal.

Thus he gambled it all, leading to today’s action.

He intended to leverage the previous Mystical Array along with Gao Mu Country’s folk faith to extract Tan Mountain’s power, enabling the ”resurrection” of the Twelve Ghost Generals.

The Twelve Ghost Generals are not the real commanders of the mythical three thousand ghosts, but rather twelve generals from imagination based on myth.

They are similar to True Gods but far inferior, their strength leaning towards the Disqualified Monster of Hymn Company’s Plane.

They possess a trace of Divinity but not much.

They could massacre common people recklessly, and by virtue of Divinity, they could ignore most high-tech weaponry.

With these Twelve Ghost Generals, Jin Canyun intended to seize control of the New Cosmos Sect, even taking control of Gao Mu Country’s upper echelons.

By then, he could re-arrange the ceremony and summon the True God Leman.

With previous failure as experience, this time his actions would be faster and more successful.

Everything seemed to be proceeding smoothly, but the detestable Li Zaisi, who had once foiled them, wouldn’t go away, not only resurrected but continuing to meddle in attempts to disrupt their plans again.

However, it didn’t matter, Master Zheng Ruiyuan was thwarted because the Earthly Divine Kingdom ceremony hadn’t been deployed in time.

Jin Canyun was different, he had already summoned the Twelve Ghost Generals, whatever means Li Zaisi employed for resurrection, Jin Canyun would ensure he died once more!

Too bad that bastard couldn’t live until Leman the God descended, or else the God would certainly dole out his divine punishment to torment him heavily.

As Jin Canyun activated the array, the Twelve Ghost Generals burst out of the cave, their bodies formed of mist growing larger in the wind, forming twelve enormous figures above Tan Mountain.

Each figure was a hundred meters tall, visible from distant towns and villages around White Plain Mountain.

Seeing the Twelve Ghost Generals instantly filled people’s hearts with immense fear, causing uncontrollable trembling.

Amid the spectacle in Bailin Village, Jin Shiyu tightly hugged her husband’s arm, softly asking:

”Honey, is this one of those trendy drone holographic projections?”

Jin Shiyu’s husband also trembled, trying hard not to collapse, hoping to remain a pillar for his wife.

”I don’t know either.”

Already on a mountain bike outside Tan Mountain, Wu Chang looked at the Twelve Ghost Generals in the sky, whistled, took out his phone, and dialed Erin’s number.

”Miss Erin, it’s your turn to step in.”
