Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

White Plain Mountain is the Holy Mountain of Gao Mu Country, but in recent years, at night, the pure white plain during the day reveals a sense of eeriness that makes nearby residents fear looking toward the mountain.

It’s not just a psychological effect; every year, hundreds of backpackers disappear in the deep mountains without a trace, alive or dead, according to the rescue team’s path analysis. The disappearances occur at midnight, which adds a layer of horror to the nighttime atmosphere of White Plain Mountain.

Rumors are rampant about heavy yin energy, ghosts dwelling in the mountain, and these creatures absorbing human souls at night.

Better to believe it than not; as the rumors spread, the surrounding villagers developed taboos.

For example, in Bailin Village on the west side of White Plain Mountain, villagers close their doors and windows tightly before eight o’clock each evening, not stepping even a foot outside.

Beep beep beep.

Upon hearing the alarm, Jin Shiyu, as usual, called for her husband, who was smoking his last cigarette in the courtyard, to come inside. She looked towards the courtyard, but found her husband missing from his usual smoking spot.

Could he have gone to the neighbor’s house?

Seeing it was getting late, Jin Shiyu hurried to close the door and went looking for her husband to urge him to return home.

Bailin Village is a mountain village, and Jin Shiyu’s home is located at the lower part. As soon as she stepped out, she saw several young people heading towards the village center.

She casually asked, ”What are you guys doing so late?”

The villagers know each other well, and a few laughed, saying, ”Going to see the commotion, we’ve heard there’s a show being recorded in the mountain and everyone’s going to watch it.”

Upon hearing this, Jin Shiyu followed the group toward the village center.

Her husband loves to watch such events; he must be there.

After climbing dozens of stone steps to the high ground of the mountain village, Jin Shiyu saw a place crowded with people, her husband standing at the edge.

She approached, about to ask why he didn’t return home, only to have her words blocked by the scene before her.

The gloomy White Plain Mountain was lit by countless lights, resembling thousands of long dragons winding from outside the mountain into its depths.

The lights visibly advanced and scattered, appearing as thousands of stars falling directly into White Plain Mountain.

”What’s happening here?” Jin Shiyu asked.

Her husband noticed her presence and replied, ”I heard a show team came to the village this evening, saying they would record a show at night and warned everyone not to enter the mountain to avoid accidental harm.”

Jin Shiyu asked curiously, ”What kind of show requires so many people? This number must be in the thousands.”

Her husband shrugged, saying, ”I heard it’s a sports program, with physical challenges.”

Boom.

A loud noise erupted from the depths of White Plain Mountain, a mushroom-shaped flame rising, causing exclamations among the bystanders.

Jin Shiyu spoke hesitantly, ”Is this part of the show too?”

Her husband casually replied, ”It should be a new type of fireworks; don’t worry, it can’t be a bomb.”

Not long after, the lights gathering inside White Plain Mountain began to spread in all directions.

Some of them moved towards the west of White Plain Mountain, where Bailin Village is located.

A gust of wind blew, carrying faint sounds of screams and pleas, chilling and dire.

Jin Shiyu recalled the ghostly rumors, her face turning pale, asking, ”Is this part of the show too?”

Her husband muttered inwardly but said aloud, ”It should be special effects. Shows these days are exaggerating their performances.”

The lights approached Bailin Village closer and closer; within ten minutes, some lights had already reached the village’s edge.

Several men, dressed in pure white clothing like followers, rushed out of the forest, looking crazed, heading towards Bailin Village, shouting, ”Help! Murder!”

Before the villagers could react, a teenager in black clothes quickly caught up, leaping into the air to deliver a flying kick, knocking the person in white to the ground.

Soon, two more black-clothed people followed from the forest, seizing metal rods to beat the white-clothed person indiscriminately.

Each black-clothed person held a high-powered flashlight, shining as brightly as starlight at night.

The metal rods swung in residual shadows, each person making no fewer than six strikes per second; within two or three seconds, the white-clothed person ceased struggling, fainting on the ground.

Two of them pasted a name tag with ”Eliminated” on the white-clothed person and dragged him back to the forest, leaving one to enter the village, borrowing a shovel to bury the bloodstains in front of the village.

While swapping the shovel, he casually told the crowd, ”Don’t mind it; it’s all special effects.”

Having witnessed all this, Jin Shiyu grasped her husband’s sleeve, asking, ”Are show effects now this realistic?”

On the other side, in the direction of Songquan Village, Wu Chang waited until his subordinates rushed into White Plain Mountain before he leisurely followed.

After all, he’s the boss, not some campus punk fighting; what boss charges at the forefront?

By the time he entered the mountain, people were already engaged in combat with extreme New Cosmos Sect believers, and motorbike riders had broken through, reaching the enemy’s base, setting explosives in the designated direction, completing the detonation.

With a massive roar, the faint mist inside White Plain Mountain dissipated, revealing the mountain’s original appearance.

According to Song Zhenxian’s confession, the frequent fog in recent years within White Plain Mountain was due to extreme New Cosmos Sect followers building a special mystical ceremony using the mountain’s terrain, further concealing their actions.

Song Zhenxian was one of the mysticism ceremony’s constructors, knowing most of the array nodes. Wu Chang used the Eye of Breaking Method and familiarity with mysticism to complete the locations of all core nodes and arranged for his people to carry out the blasting.
