Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 93: Chapter 92: Truth Deduction (4K Mega Chapter, Double Release)

At the moment of guilty verdict, he did nothing, and flames burst forth from the Lustful Divine Envoy, who was then burned to ashes amidst agonizing wails.

Parting the ashes, Wu Chang found a chess piece engraved with a small figure being scorched by flames.

”Item Name: Proof of Lust”

”Item Type: Special”

”Item Description: Possessing the Proof of Lust allows entry into the Special Space—House of Binding. In the House of Binding area, one will be seen as a Divine Envoy, with the authority to judge the sins of a target. If the opponent’s Good and Evil Value is below 5, they will be judged as a Sinner.”

Looking at the Proof of Lust in his hand, Wu Chang frowned; he didn’t just successfully judge the Lustful Divine Envoy but also directly obliterated the envoy.

This change was beyond his expectations.

Was the sin of lust corresponding to an event in reality that violated the sin of envy?

Or was there some special connection between the two?

The event recorded in the sin of envy was that the townsfolk, out of jealousy, turned against the heavens, declaring the Saintess a heretic and sentencing her to death by fire.

If the sin of lust is connected to the sin of envy, does it mean the townsfolk felt lust for the Saintess?

Did lust give rise to jealousy?

Although it seems reasonable, can jealousy merely arising from lust really result in a Good and Evil Value of -100?

No, his inspiration was triggered at that moment, with a flash of insight in his mind, and numerous fragmented pieces of information emerged before him, spontaneously assembling together.

Using the connection between lust and envy as a thread, he seemed to glimpse the truth.

Matty had said that the Inner World at the fishman dock represented their past experiences as pirates. But why the past? As descendants of pirates, why would the townsfolk regard things they originally deemed self-evident as original sin?

At the same time, Matty was full of respect for the Saintess, preferring to self-destruct rather than reveal information about her.

On the surface, the Ogre National Church was searching for the Saintess, but it was more concerned about the so-called Holy Mark than the Saintess’s life or death.

Burning the Saintess as a heretic, the emotions that arose in the bishop and townsfolk were not hatred, disgust, or lust, but envy.

In the Resonance of Mental Images of the bishop, burning the Saintess was the largest inner flaw he was most unwilling to face.

The path to the Inner World representing envy was not in the Great Statue of the Holy Mother but in the bishop’s sewn-shut eyes.

The Saintess from outside the island had scales that only appeared after consuming Golden Flying Fish, and consumption led to addiction that couldn’t be escaped.

Before taking action against the bald man and him, the Lustful Divine Envoy had always asked a question, ”Will you stay on this island?” 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

As a Divine Envoy in the Inner World representing envy, the Lustful Divine Envoy bore almost the maximum sin.

The final clue that surfaced before Wu Chang was his discussion about lust with the Spirit Fox.

Lust is not necessarily limited to its literal sense of sexual desire.

In religion, when treating others, ignoring the other’s feelings and only caring about using them to fulfill one’s own desires can be termed as lust.

The Lustful Divine Envoy’s obsession with staying on the island was so deep; was its obsession with those who committed the sin of lust?

Probably not.

A certain famous detective once said, eliminating all impossibilities, whatever remains, however unlikely, must be the truth.

A bold speculation about the truth coalesced into a silhouette in his mind.

He entered a meditation state, attempting to fit the clues into the outline and piece together a reasonable truth.

Ten clues turned into ten memory fragments, surrounding Wu Chang.

Wu Chang observed the ten memory fragments simultaneously, continually adjusting the sequence of images, arranging, and combining them. When certain images appeared, he would extract specific clues and connect them with corresponding clues in other images.

When he assembled all the fragments extended from the ten memories like a puzzle piece by piece until forming the final image.

Within the image, a figure appeared, a figure running through all the clues, at the heart of all the issues.

That immaculate, as if synonymous with perfection, maiden.

The Saintess.

Wu Chang took a deep breath, planning to organize his thoughts and reveal his hypothesis next time.

However, amidst the void, his inspiration detected a faint danger from beyond the heavens, as though numerous discontented gazes were fixated upon him. He immediately organized his thoughts and began to review his conjectured truth.

Simply put, the death of the Saintess was not due to her faith but rather her excessive excellence, whose personal charm overshadowed the high-pressure rule of Count Jermaine, ultimately leading to her demise.

Moreover, the appearance of the Saintess was the root and catalyst for the emergence of the Inner Worlds of the Seven Deadly Sins on Briff Island.

Before the Saintess arrived, the islanders, under the direction of Count Jermaine, lived as pirates, plundering the kingdom’s merchant ships, enjoying an easy and carefree life.

In comparison to the ill-gotten wealth from plundering, working hard to earn money seemed too strenuous.

But with the arrival of the Saintess, everything changed.

She either did not know that the townsfolk had adhered to the sensory sect, or even if she knew, chose to forgive them and spread the true Ogre National Church to the townsfolk.

Under the Saintess’s evangelism, the mental barriers of the islanders, completely controlled by Count Jermaine, began to shatter.

They began to understand what was right, what was wrong, and truly understood virtue and good.

As the saying goes, I could have endured the darkness if I had never seen the sun.

If not for the Saintess, the townsfolk could have continued living under Count Jermaine’s manipulation, living their past lives.
