Reborn at Boot Camp: General, Don’t Mess Around!

Chapter 5399: Chapter 5399: Confirmation

Everything happening in the hall had nothing to do with Xia Jinyuan and his team; almost all the staff in the entire hall were from Noah’s country. Even if Cyril were to kill all the hall staff now, Xia Jinyuan and his team wouldn’t intervene.

Gunshots echoed in the lobby, stray bullets shattered the splendid crystal lights, scattering pieces all over the ground. Illuminated by the light, the floor glittered like countless diamonds embedded in it, with blood snaking across, staining the sparkling shards and wetting the shining floor.

Cyril, who would shoot at the drop of a hat, was now well-protected, sitting on the hotel sofa, waiting to blow up his auction venue and for the fool who wanted to steal the four famous paintings to show himself.

Xia Jinyuan and Ye Jian were in the process of evacuating; they needed to intercept Noah now.

It wasn’t exactly to intercept Noah—Cyril’s men were on it. They were just conveniently rescuing Alice Cheng in passing.

All the hotel corridors were manned by Cyril’s people. Guests who heard the gunshots and tried to flee in a panic ended up sending themselves to a point of no return, as they were directly shot dead by Cyril’s men, who allowed no one the chance to escape.

Whoever dared to flee would be shot, that was Cyril’s order.

Retreating Noah had reached the stairway exit on the first floor, which led to the sub-basement two parking garage. They only had to descend five more floors to enter the parking garage and drive away, but they were blocked.

Cyril’s men were stationed at the first-floor exit, holding rifles aimed at the second floor, ready to fire at the slightest noise from above.

”Six people in total, don’t let anyone escape,” Noah whispered as he fitted a silencer onto his pistol, ”I’ll count to three, then we shoot.”

”Yes, Colonel!”

The twelve accompanying male soldiers nodded softly. As soldiers of their country, they were somewhat nervous but not overly afraid, facing the armed foe outside with calmness and belief in their escape.

Keeping watch, G3 silently followed, edging along the wall of the stairway step by step, his pistol drawn slowly. He didn’t need to aim at any particular target; a random shot to alert the guys in the hallway would suffice.

1, 2, 3... Noah signaled the soldiers to fire.

”Bang... Bang...”

The sudden gunshots, like the ghastly voice of a demon, echoed violently within the stairwell.

G3 fired ahead of them, successfully alerting Cyril’s men, leaving the six targets, already in the crosshairs of Noah’s soldiers, without any hesitation to open fire upwards.

”Bang bang bang...”

The barrage of gunfire was fierce. Some of the foes were instantly shot dead by Noah’s soldiers, while others miraculously escaped and quickly counterattacked.

”FUCK!”

Noah cursed under his breath and yelled, ”Upstairs! GOGOGO!”

Having already alerted the enemy below, they had no way to retreat now.

The gunfire from the fire escape resulted in at least ten of Cyril’s subordinates rushing up the stairs armed, and what had been a relatively quiet hotel now resounded with shots from every direction as Noah led his twelve soldiers firing while swiftly falling back.

Hidden behind the fire room on the second floor, G3 saw Alice Cheng, whom they were there to rescue, calmly firing to defend herself.

Witnessing this scene, G3 fully agreed with Xia Jinyuan’s initial analysis.

The scientist’s itinerary was exposed because his wife had reported it upstairs in advance, leading to the scientist who was preparing to return to his country being placed under house arrest.

Alice Cheng was the scientist’s wife and had also been monitoring him all along. Even though she had children with the scientist, her duty was still to watch his every move and to report immediately at the first sign of anything amiss.
