Reborn at Boot Camp: General, Don’t Mess Around!

Chapter 5519: Chapter 5519: Competing for Jobs

”Don’t underestimate Little Yu’s short stature; at just 1.7 meters tall, he possesses astonishing physical strength and excellent agility, with the best moves among the three security guards.

The two security guards on vacation had homes not far away, so it was convenient for them to return home. Old Man Xia wanted to give Uncle Fu a holiday too, so that he could go back to his hometown for New Year’s, but Uncle Fu insisted on staying. Left with no choice, Old Man Xia agreed.

One by one, everyone left, and the Fu family’s house would have been really deserted on New Year’s Eve.

But this time it was different!

Uncle Fu was busy serving dishes, Little Yu was busy adding rice, Ye Jian was busy setting chopsticks, and even before the New Year arrived, the Fu family’s house was already bustling.

Now, all they were waiting for was Li Jinnian’s return.

Old Man Xia sat at the head of the table with a wide smile and said, ”This year is really special, with all of you here to celebrate with me. Let’s not talk about outsiders; our family should just enjoy eating, drinking, and sharing happy moments.”

Hoisting her drink, Ye Jian stood up, ”I’ll toast to Grandpa first. I wish Grandpa health and peace, may you have today every year and this morning every new day.”

”Good, good,” Old Man Xia laughed until his mouth couldn’t close. There was no need to wait for New Year’s Eve; this was already like celebrating New Year’s!

With Ye Jian leading, Chief Engineer Fu stood up to toast, followed by Uncle Fu, and lastly Little Yu. Old Man Xia was all smiles as he drank, and the family chatted and laughed heartily.

After dinner, Old Man Xia and Chief Engineer Fu went to the living room to chat, leaving Ye Jian and Little Yu to clear the table and clean up food scraps, and they put away the dishes into the kitchen.

In the end, Ye Jian wanted to wash the dishes, but Uncle Fu chased her out, ”The kitchen is my territory. Don’t cause trouble here. Go, accompany your dad and Old Man Xia for a chat.”

”Your dad must have a whole lot of questions for you.”

Ye Jian didn’t move but continued to put the washed dishes into the sterilizing cabinet and handed the cleaned-up kitchen waste to Little Yu, not giving Uncle Fu a chance to interfere.

Uncle Fu bemoaned, ”Are you trying to take over my job?”

Little Yu, who took the trash, looked at Uncle Fu with a smile, hurrying to take the trash out, fearing Uncle Fu would snatch it from his hands.

Unable to stop him, Uncle Fu went to call Old Man Xia and joked deliberately, ”Old Man Xia, please have a look. I’m starting to suspect An Jiaxin is trying to fire me; she’s even stealing kitchen duties from me.”

Old Man Xia didn’t expect Ye Jian to have busied herself in the kitchen for so long, not only washing dishes but even cleaning up. Seeing Uncle Fu concerned about Ye Jian’s hard work, Old Man Xia stood up with a smile and walked into the kitchen, telling her still cleaning up, ”Girl, you shouldn’t be tidying up the kitchen. Come sit with Grandpa. The kitchen is Uncle Fu’s domain, and if you clean it for him, he’ll take offense.”

”I was just tidying up casually; I certainly wouldn’t dare compete with Uncle Fu for work. Uncle Fu, take a look, is it clean?”

She still held a cloth in her hand, but Uncle Fu was quick to take it from her, then said, ”Not too bad, but it still needs my touch to be perfect.”

”Sigh, Xia family’s Little Six is really lucky to have you as a bride. Nowadays, there aren’t many young women willing to work in the kitchen.”

Uncle Fu was very satisfied with Xia Jinyuan, and in the entire capital city, Uncle Fu believed there were few who could match up to Xia Jinyuan, and the thought of him becoming the Fu family’s son-in-law made Uncle Fu happy.

Hearing the conversation, Chief Engineer Fu, who came over to check on things, let out a deliberate cough and gave Uncle Fu a meaningful look.
