Death… And Me

Chapter 3711: Don’t get Involved

”Shit!” Reliance immediately reached for his mask, covering his face with it again.

Rean and Kentucky’s appearance also changed almost instantly, and they looked behind as a few experts arrived in the room.

”What is happening here?!” The one in front was a Late Stage Space-Time Realm, so he wasn’t afraid of either Kentucky or Rean. As for Reliance, he still kept his cultivation hidden.

Rean smiled. ”Sorry for the commotion, friend. We are just visiting our acquaintance here. Could it be we caused you some trouble?”

The man narrowed his eyes, looking at Rean and Kentucky. Then, he looked at Reliance, who was the one who paid for the room. ”Sir, is what they said true?”

Reliance looked at Rean and Kentucky before shaking his head. ”I have no idea who these two are. They just barged into my room for no reason. Most likely, they mistook me for someone else.”

”What?!” Rean and Kentucky were taken aback. Why would Reliance say such a thing?

The expert immediately took his weapons, pointing at Rean and Kentucky, the others behind him following suit. ”You might have a high cultivation, but that doesn’t mean you can cause trouble in my hotel. I don’t know what kind of problem you have with that man, but as long as he is our guest, you have no right to do anything to him. Wait for when he comes out, then that’s not our problem anymore. I’ll say it only once: leave now.”

Rean and Kentucky looked at Reliance, but they couldn’t see his expression anymore due to the mask. In the end, Rean gave up and nodded at the expert at the entrance of the room. ”We understand, friend. We will take our leave.”

”We will?” Kentucky asked back.

Rean simply pulled Kentucky with him. ”We will.”

Rean also passed a few Divine Stones to the hotel expert. ”Also, sorry for breaking the room’s door. This should be enough to pay for the repairs.”

The man accepted the stones and led them out.

A minute later, Rean and Kentucky came out of the hotel, looking up to where Elder Reliance’s room was located.

”I don’t understand. Why would he try to get rid of us?” Kentucky couldn’t help but ask.

Rean shook his head in response. ”I wish I had an answer for that question. Well, I was too hasty. I should have just knocked on the door instead of breaking it...”

”So...” Kentucky turned his attention away. ”What do we do now? It is not as if we absolutely have to talk to Reliance. And it seems he doesn’t want us close to him either.”𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Rean pondered a bit and then moved to a restaurant nearby. ”Let’s wait and see if he comes out.” At the same time, he talked to Sister Orb. ’Keep an eye on his room and his moves, Sister Orb. He might try to sneak out without us noticing. You should have no issues doing it by hacking into the formations in the hotel.’

[Already doing it. The hotel experts sent Reliance to another room after you broke the door, but I already hacked into it. Reliance is there at the moment, talking to the hotel guys.]

’Good!’ Rean nodded, ordering some food from the restaurant.

Kentucky did the same, and they just waited there while they looked at what happened in Reliance’s room. Sister Orb’s abilities were still in full display.

They watched as the hotel experts apologized for what happened and for the lack of security. Reliance didn’t seem to mind, sending them out after a few minutes. Of course, he was asked why he was targeted, and he simply said he had no idea. As to whether the hotel experts believed him or not, that didn’t really matter. Soon, he was left alone.

In the room, Reliance removed his mask again, sitting on his bed with a pensive expression. Then, something even more unbelievable happened. ”I have to say, it is not nice to spy on someone like that, Rean.”

Rean and Kentucky almost choked on their food. Even Sister Orb didn’t expect to be caught.

Rean quickly recovered, asking Sister Orb. ’Sister Orb, is there anything in the room that would allow me to talk to him?’

[Yes. I’ll use the hotel speakers. It’s a simple circuitry formation device... Alright, go ahead. You can talk through our connection.]

Rean took a deep breath, and his voice echoed inside Reliance’s room. ”Elder Reliance... I don’t even know what to say.”

Reliance looked at the speaker near the entrance, sighing in response. ”How do you think I’m feeling, uh? I still had my doubts if you were truly Rean, but considering how you took control over the formations in this room so easily, it has to be you. Otherwise, it would be too much of a coincidence. You were always a genius in formations, after all.”

Rean scratched the back of his head. Sure, he knew a lot of formations, but this time, it was simply Sister Orb using the system’s power to hack into it. ”Ahem... let’s leave it aside. Why did you say you didn’t know us?”

”Because I didn’t want you to get involved. Rean, just pretend you didn’t see me. Things are a lot complicated at the moment,” Reliance warned. ”You would be better off not talking to me anymore.”

Rean and Kentucky looked at each other. However, it was Roan who suddenly intervened from within the Dimensional Realm, his voice emanating from the speaker. ”Elder Reliance, do you know Soul Gem?”

Reliance’s heart skipped a beat. ”How could I not? That piece of shit is the reason for me to be here. Was it the same with you?”

Roan confirmed. ”It was. Could you tell us where he is now?”

”If I knew, I wouldn’t be here,” Reliance answered. ”I was thrown into this Universe, and all I was told was that one day, I would have a role to play. As to what role, I have no idea.”

”Pretty similar to us,” Rean commented. ”We were also brought to the Werdlem Empire, and we received no explanation whatsoever.”

Rean changed the topic. ”Anyway. Elder Reliance, you don’t need to worry about us. Other than the Universe Owner, we aren’t afraid of being outmatched in this Universe at the moment. So, speak freely. What is happening?”
