Death… And Me

Chapter 3595: Helping Others

They stopped, and Jangalo immediately rushed to Meconth’s Platform. Meconth was the only one willing to share to start with. It had to be a fast move since every second out of the platform shield, one would be assaulted by the intense heat and yang energy.

Jangalo quickly sat down, feeling the burden of his lack of Divine Energy and the environment. Meconth didn’t waste time and resumed his work, pouring his Divine Energy into his platform. However, no one expected what happened next. Meconth’s platform shield... didn’t appear!

”What?!” Meconth looked at that, his eyes open wide. He poured even more Divine Energy, but nothing happened. The shield that protects against the heat and yang energy simply was nowhere to be seen!

*Arrghh...*

Jangalo’s situation deteriorated, now completely exposed to the environment for way longer than he wanted. Had it been at the start, he would have had plenty of Divine Energy to defend himself. That wasn’t the case now.

Seeing that, Meconth immediately used his own Divine Energy to shield Jangalo and himself. That was a very bad move. It worked, and Jangalo was better. However, protecting against the environment directly required many, many more times Divine Energy than using the platform. It was very bad news for Meconth. ”What the hell is happening here?”

”Isn’t it obvious?” Anyone could guess, so Shonro spoke bluntly. ”It seems like the platform will not accept two experts on it. Well, this is good information for the rest of us.”

Meconth was fuming. ”Don’t think you will gain an advantage from this! If I also run out of Divine Energy, then you will all come down with me. Instead of speaking bullshit, you guys better think about a solution. Otherwise, not only Jangalo, but those friends in the Elemental Space Realm will soon be empty as well. All the Divinity Realm experts here will have to help, just like I’m doing.”

”Do you expect us to use our Divine Energy for those ants?” Riraru, the one from Universe F950, snorted. ”Keep dreaming. It’s exactly because we don’t know how far we are from the other side that I will not spend a single iota of Divine Energy on anyone else other than me.”

”Idiot!” Sesahi cursed Riraru, who was Shonror’s companion. ”We have no choice in the matter. Did you forget? We can’t leave the sphere’s range. I hate it as much as anyone else. But if it comes down to sharing our Divine Energy or dying, the choice should be obvious!”

Shonror would usually refute and take his group’s side. But this time, he was forced to side with Sesahi. ”Riraru, the beast bitch is right. But we won’t be the first ones. That idiot called Jangalo is from Meconth’s group, so they better work on protecting him first before we do the same.”

”Tch...” Riraru could only accept in the end, but it was clear to everyone that this kind of situation wouldn’t get any better with such a solution.

As they bickered with each other, Rean glanced at Roan. This situation was also bad for them, after all. ’What do you think?’

Roan pondered a bit and relented in the end. ’Just go for it. Without knowing how far we are from the end, it would be too risky to be forced to abandon the platforms, especially since we can’t get away from the sphere. Only you are truly able to completely ignore the yang energy of this place. I can live with it, but that’s because of our connection, so I would rather not have to rely on it.’

’Very well,’ Rean nodded, and he opened his platform shield.

”Senior Meconth, send Jangalo my way. I can shield him for the time being as he recovers,” Rean spoke.

”What?!” Meconth felt like he heard a joke. ”You have barely reached the Elemental Space Realm. It is already a miracle you are lasting this long. How can you protect yourself and Jangalo at the same time without running out of energy yourself? You are just making things harder for the rest of us.”

Rean shook his head in response. ”I am not. I’m immune to the Yang Energy of this environment, and the heat barely causes any trouble to me. I can definitely last longer than anyone else here.”

”You...” Meconth and the others were taken aback. But then, someone thought of something. ”Wait, do you have a Pure Yang Body?”

The twins had met experts with Pure Yin and Yang bodies in the past, although even they couldn’t compare to Rean and Roan when it came to Yin and Yang Energy. Nonetheless, since those types of body constitutions weren’t a secret, they served as the perfect excuse for Rean.

”That’s correct,” Rean confirmed their words. ”I wasn’t planning to reveal this, but if our friend Jangalo falls here, then we will all be doomed.”

The various eyes looking at Rean changed. They saw him as nothing but an ant before, but now they had to reconsider their thoughts regarding him. Of course, with the fact Rean ’can’t’ use laws due to his cultivation, no one was really worried.

Royer added his piece from there. ”He isn’t lying. He is my subordinate, and I can guarantee he can do it. If it is only two, he should be able to shield himself and an extra guy without using much energy.”

Rean nodded, satisfied. Royer already understood his role in their group.

Meconth could feel his Divine Energy going away, so he decided to accept Rean’s offer. ”Thank you, little friend. Jangalo, don’t cause trouble for him. Focus on recovering as much energy as possible for the next few hours, then we will continue our journey.”

”Yes, master.” Jangalo accepted the orders, and he wasn’t very happy, he had to rely on someone with such a low cultivation. Well, at least it was better than if he had to rely on the Divinity Realm experts around. Who knows what they could try against him? ”Friend Rean, please take me in.”

Rean smiled. ”Senior Jangalo is too polite.” He touched Jangalo’s shoulder and expanded his own Divine Energy shield to him. Sure enough, although Rean used a little bit more Divine Energy to shield Jangalo against the heat and yang energy, it wasn’t anything that big. Celis’s contribution could totally make up for it.

Jangalo felt the Heat and Yang Energy disappear from his body. Not only that, Rean seemed to have used his Light Element to heal the injuries he sustained just now when Meconth failed to activate the platform shield. Jangalo couldn’t help but grow a little bit of respect for this ’weak’ cultivator. ”I shall remember this.”

”Let’s first make it to the other side, then you can think about repaying me one day,” Rean concluded.

Some snorted, others pondered about it, but ultimately, that’s how things played. Rean helped Jangalo for three hours, giving him time to completely focus on his recovery. Then, Jangalo returned to his platform, activating its shield once again. Three hours wasn’t that much, but it was enough for him to recover around 20% of his reserves.

”Alright, let’s continue.”
