Death… And Me

Chapter 3592: I Might Know A Source

The Sphere continued to fly over the molten ocean for another two weeks. During this time, they saw another two big waves, which they managed to flee without much issue. As for monsters, another three of them appeared... just for Celis to completely obliterate them.

So far, it looked like they would cross this ocean with quite some ease.

Still, Roan couldn’t help but think about what they had seen so far while talking to his group, excluding Elsie and Royer. ’We don’t know what we will find further ahead, but it seems like we are just way too strong for the challenges of this exploration.’

Rean noticed that as well. ’We don’t know anything about the top experts of the center of the Werdlem Empire. However, Universe F956 and the other numbers close to it are on the outskirts, at the very end of the Werdlem Empire bubble. So, you should expect the experts here to not be as strong as the experts there.’

’This Palace was definitely designed with the level of the experts here in mind. Besides, this cultivation suppression while permitting laws to be used truly fell right into our comfort zone since we even have a hint of Celestial Laws in our souls. All our advantages plus the restrictions of this palace make us heads and shoulders above everyone else.’

Kentucky joined. ’Still, if you think about it, even the experts of Universe F956 are usually stronger than other experts at the same level back in Lisan Universe. You could say our main advantage was our Celestial Bloodline and Soul that we gained here. Without them, we would still be quite strong, but not to this ridiculous degree. For example, I feel like the four of us could still fight everyone here at the same time and possibly win. That was definitely out of the question without our Celestial Bloodlines and Souls.’

’That’s what bothers me,’ Roan continued from there. ’If this palace was designed for the experts of this region of the Werdlem Empire, then we are too much of an outlier. Sister Orb, do you think we are being observed? Don’t forget that we had the Main Universe of the Werdlem Empire looking for us before, and we might catch their attention again even though they think we are dead.’

[I can’t hack into the formations of this place since it is everything at the Legendary Level. However, I can at least identify them with enough time. So far, there doesn’t seem to be any formation capable of monitoring others. This Golden Palace is definitely extremely old as well, so perhaps the ones who put this here have long since ignored its existence. Don’t forget the many traps we found that stopped working or were pretty much there due to disrepair. I’ll be honest; I don’t think anyone performed maintenance to this place in the last few tens of millions of years.]

Roan nodded. ’If you couldn’t find anything monitoring us or the others, then that’s for the best. In any case, we will continue our initial plan. We will not show our real power unless it is necessary. Considering how many experts are taking part in this thing, I wouldn’t be surprised if one or another was actually working for the Werdlem Empire as a supervisor.’

’So you think there are spies of the Werdlem Empire’s main universe here?’ Rean asked.

’It’s just a theory,’ Roan added. ’It doesn’t hurt to be careful, though. Until now, only one group really saw what we were capable of and was left alive. The second group we fought all died. As for what Celis did here, it could be simply explained as the sphere matching his type of cultivation or whatever. Let’s keep it like this for the time being.’

’Understood!’ Rean, Rifindio, Kentucky, and Celis agreed.

At that moment, the twins received a message from Royer. ’Little friends... I would like to propose something.’

’You want us to help you find out how the Camazotz Bats are able to rob everyone of their blood and energies, killing them in the process without any resistance.’ Rean and Roan didn’t need to hear it to know what Royer wanted.

Royer sighed, nodding. ’Yes. If there is a place where we can capture a Camazotz Bat without repercussion, that place is here. Some weaker ones might have their memories sealed, but what about the top brass like that Elder Zick? Your group is obviously far stronger than anyone else; that much, I can guarantee. We should be able to take down one of those big shots and force them to speak.’

Roan glanced at him. ’I understand your motives, but there isn’t really anything in it for us. We already killed a Camazotz Bat, although we left no witnesses behind, so that shouldn’t be a problem. The problem is that to do what you ask, we also risk becoming the Camazotz Bats’ targets once we return to our Universe. I’m truly not in the mood to be hunted down by an entire Universe.’

’Yes, I also considered that,’ Royer spoke with conviction. ’That’s why I don’t want you guys to take such risks, especially since we barely know each other. It wouldn’t make sense for you to do such a thing. I also have no intention of using the fact I saw you killing the Camazotz Bat, either, in case you thought I would do such a thing.’

Rean and Roan’s eyebrows raised a little. They would be lying if they said they hadn’t thought about it before. After all, Royer said it himself, they barely know each other. Well, he was also there, so perhaps he would be considered at fault, too. ’So, what do you suggest?’

’I want your help capturing one of such bats, but only if the situation allows it. If you see it is too risky to make a move, then you don’t need to do anything. I’ll think about something else later. But, if the chance appears, I very much would like to take one of them with your help,’ Royer explained. He understood and took the twins’ group’s situation into account.

’Alright,’ Roan didn’t forget the most important part. ’But once again, what is in it for us? You can’t really expect us to help you for nothing in exchange, right?’

Royer looked at Elsie, who nodded at him. Two had discussed it before Royer contacted the twins. Then, Royer continued. ’It seems like your group is looking for a source of Starlight Energy, is that correct? I might just know the place.’

Now, the Rean and Roan’s attention was truly piqued.
