Death… And Me

Chapter 3568: Let’s Just Go!

*Splash!*

The man jumped out of the water as fast as he could. When he fell into it, the gravity made him sink into the lake like a rock. It’s just that Celis didn’t throw him too far for the same reason—just a few tens of meters. So, once he touched the bottom, he circulated his Divine Energy like crazy, running out of the lake.

At the same time, he tried to protect his body against the lake’s water the best he could. It turned out that the lake was indeed getting a lot clearer. He wasn’t consumed by the lake’s power straight away. He managed to run out of the lake. Unfortunately...

His chest began to turn dark fast, just not as fast as it happened back with that Space-Time Realm expert. He went all out, also calling the experts from his clan to help.

His companions quickly approached, but they didn’t touch the guy. Instead, they focused on sending their Divine Energy into him from afar and were ready to step back at any moment. Only then did the black color of his body stop growing. Still, he was visibly in pain. The water’s property was capable of affecting even the soul, not only the body.

Everyone watched, tense. If he managed to get rid of the lake’s power, that would mean it wasn’t far before they could enter it themselves.

It lasted almost thirty minutes, but he and his clan experts finally managed to get rid of the dark power that tried to corrode the man. The guy fell to the ground, gasping for air and shivering cold. He truly was a centimeter away from dying just now.

His name was Rondenis Romuteri, a member of the Romuteri Clan, which controlled Universe F954. He was in the Peak Stage of the Divinity Realm, and he was very confident in his power. Yet, he almost died from the lake’s power.

Just like the other top powers from other Universes, the Romuteri Clan also sent a few hundred of their experts to explore the palace this time. Considering that one of their own almost died just now, they all looked in the twins’ group’s direction. The anger in their expressions was obvious for everyone to see.

”What?!” Rean couldn’t care less. ”He tried to throw me in the lake, so I retaliated. Would any of you let yourself become a guinea pig just like that?”

Of course, everyone knew about that. If anything, they totally think Rean made the right decision, and they would have done the same in his shoes. However, the one Rean threw into the lake was part of one of the big powers, so no one spoke for Rean.

Rondenis got up, managing to recover a little. ”Yes, you should have just let me kick you into the lake. Now, you will wish I had succeeded.”

The experts of the Romuteri Clan gathered. Rean might have looked fast a moment ago, and Celis’s attack was surprising. However, Rean’s group only had six members, against hundreds of their clan, most in the Divinity Realm. The situation was different from before when Roan provoked the anger of another group. That group only had ten members, and making a move there would only give an opening for other groups to get rid of them.

This time, however, there were just too many Romuteri Clan members. It was simple for a few of them to focus on the twins’ group while the rest looked out for any possible danger from other experts. No one would intervene against the Romuteri Clan... or so Rondenis thought.

”Now, now, let’s not get ahead of ourselves, shall we?” At that moment, a man appeared by the twins’ group side, followed by a few hundred experts. This man’s background definitely wasn’t any weaker than the Romuteri Clan.

Rean and the others had noticed their arrival, but they didn’t expect to receive their protection. ”Sir... Aren’t you from the Supreme Palace?”

Rean recognized the man. Or, to be more specific, Rifindio did. The man was a Camazotz Bat elder, the one called Elder Zick. Back outside of the Golden Palace, it was he who went forward to talk with the experts of the other Universes.

Zick didn’t even glance at Rean. It was as if Rean didn’t exist in his eyes. Yet, he was indeed covering for Rean and his group.

”What’s the meaning of this?” Someone else stepped out of the Romuteri Clan group. In her case, she was one of the leaders of this exploration of the Golden Palace, a woman called Klotha. ”Why are you covering for this ant?”

Zick faintly smiled. ”If it were someone else, I wouldn’t care. However, these youngsters are members of my Universe F956. As the controlling entity of Universe F956, how could we let you do as you please under our watch? If you want to blame someone, blame the idiot who tried to sneak an attack on this little friend here. No one would have simply complied with that action.”

Klotha narrowed her eyes, but she looked around. There were eight top powers in this exploration, one from each Universe. Even if she decided to fight the Camazotz Bats and could win, that would only give an advantage to the other six who were watching. If anything, the other six wanted nothing more than those two to kill each other. In the end, she gave up and ordered everyone to retreat. ”I see... So be it.”

Rondenis didn’t dare to go against Klotha’s orders. Although both of them are in the Peak Stage of the Divinity Realm, their positions in the clan and even their strengths were completely different. He just glanced at Rean one last time and then left with a snort. If the opportunity arrived, he would get his revenge.

Rean scratched the back of his head. ”Errr... Thank you, Senior Zick.”

Zick finally looked in Rean’s direction, but then walked past him, returning to his Camazotz Bats group. ”This had the honor of the Universe F956 at stake, that’s all. If we had let them do whatever they wanted while we were all watching, we would lose our face, and no one would take us seriously. However, do not think we will go out of our way to help you again. You were just lucky the situation allowed it.”

Rean nodded, not complaining at all. Although he was confident he could at least flee with his group from the Romuteri Clan, it was obviously better if he didn’t have to.

At the center of the area, the conversations started again, with the top powers asking for more people with their bottles to come forward and pour into the lake. Without that, no one would go anywhere anyway.

”I guess we can only wait...” Elsie spoke, relieved they averted disaster.

”Wait?” Rean looked at her. ”Why wait? Let’s just go!”
